Poor retention strategy, they are just milking landlords when they come off their 5 year fixed rate offer periods. A totally unsympathetic approach to landlords. They couldn't even agree any sort of payment plan for a monthly mortgage payment that was £400 more than the monthly rent. They have just milked the Tory Hard Brexit fall-out and the Liz Truss mini-budget. Property couldn't sell, tenants wanted to leave, credit file impacted. Why haven't these BTL lenders been asked to pay a windfall levy on their grotesque profits?? What a disgrace!!

The worst lender who do not support borrowers at all

Having a tricky case to deal with, thought we would struggle with this one, especially with hidden surprises on the way. Come across this company as my score was low at the time and what a shambles it was. The staff I spoken to were very unprofessional and seemed incredibly slow about anything to do with mortgages let alone more complex ones. Lots of back & forth with no real end in sight, would say a hundred times how they would get my mortgage offer to me tomorrow, then next week, then next month, oh no it’s tomorrow but we still need this and this. Sent them every piece of my personal information they asked for bank statements and payslips for a total of two years prior and much more, then would ask for it all again the next day! I kept going because they told me how I wouldn’t get a mortgage elsewhere. Seemed to be a lot of cowboys working here, awful business & experience. In the end I was so fed up I went to L&C and got my mortgage offer within 48 hours. Save yourself the headache and all the data and personal information they no doubt sell on and go to a professional experienced body such as L&C even if you have ‘bad’ credit (hint hint, you don’t and can still get a mortgage)

Having a lender who takes a common sense approach is unheard of these days but TML is an exception. Underwriters working with you throughout the case makes it a brilliant experience.

Arranging mortgages for large portfolio landlords can be a time consuming and often frustrating process. I have recently done a number of properties with The Mortgage Lender and wanted to highlight the first class service received. The cases were discussed Pre-Application with Kaylee Foley (BDM)to confirm suitability. Following submission I was very fortunate to have Stephanie Wagstaff (Underwriter)allocated to the cases. I was provided with direct contact throughout the process, given a clear understanding of requirements with all documentation provided actioned in a super fast manor until all offers were received. I would highly recommend the lender as a result of the overall service provided and will be back with more business as a result.

Generally helpful and good underwriting. A big thank you to Craig Fellowes for helping me in the initial stages of a high value complex case, and being there through the process. Available when needed, knowledgeable, and overall a very good BDM.

Graeme Young was amazing at getting our latest portfolio refinance cases dealt with and offered for legals to commence. We were working to a tight timeframe on these multiple remortgage cases and Graeme was able to work with us on the cases to ensure the offers were issued so that we could be in time to meet the deadline set by the borrower and their legal team.
