Unless you have time on your hands to waste, are prepared to push and argue, and ultimately get nasty, do not sign up with Voodafone Home Broadband. As soon as I get the chance, I will jettison this arrangement.

First of all, the Vodafone store oversold the c. 1Gbps deal. I live alone and am retired on health grounds. I use only 1 TV, 1 laptop and 1 phone and never have all three working at the same time. I am not a gamer and do not use the internet for work, just for browsing, email, online shopping and an ethernet connection for my TV. The shop nonetheless sold me the most costly deal 'to avoid buffering'. The first thing the installation engineer said when he arrived: this is way over-specced for your usage, you would have been more than fine with the basic package. I returned to store, where the hopeless, sloping-shoulders store manager, shrugged his shoulders in abidication of all responsibility for the error of his trainee and gave me a number

to call, which had been disconnected.

To this day the store has been unable to get me up and running on the two Vodafone apps.

The internet service itself has been intermittent AT BEST. Since installation seven weeks ago, I have had no or poor wifi connection in the room next to the one with the router in it. I moved my life into the room where the router and have had no, intemittent weak connection via ethernet, and wifi speeds so slow (below 5mbps) that the signal did not even appear on my phone as an available netwok while standing next to the router. When I tested the painfully slow ethernet connection in adavnce of the third call, it was under 90mbps, less than one tenth of the marketed speed and less than one fifth of the guaranteed speed. After about 90 minutes of tests, the engineer restored the ethernet connection to the marketed level, but said the 5mbps speed of the wifi connection (that did not even show on my devices as an available network) was acceptable and not a breach of contract!!! At this point I went bezerk with the guy and aftert three more two minute pauses while he went to talk to someone else or do other disgnostics, we eventully got it up in stages the about 0mbps and then finally close to the marketed speed.

Happy at this point but for the stress caused and time wasted, because the guy didn't listen, I asked the engineer to explain what had been wrong with both the ethernet and the wifi connections, and what he had done to get them both in the zone I had paid for. He refused to tell me and began waffling. In the end he finally conceded that he was incapable of telling me!!! I mean. They treated you like you are stupid. I believe they have had to resolve it with some form of booster, which they ought to have done at the outset but didn't.

At don't think the store can help you. The Doncaster store can't even call its own support lines. Would you believe this: the Doncaster store (so a city centre location) of a FTSE100 telecommunications business does even give its stores a phone. Personally, I don't believe this for a second, but that's the line I got in store and that is the front and the disdain with which they will treat you.

Andrea was very friendly and helpful. She was able to advise me what the best deal and benefits were for us, which lead us to upgrade our current sim.

Absolutely brilliant service in store went above and beyond in customer service. Tried online & over the phone to get connected but had issues with my address. Amanda managed to get this rectified great result.

We were well looked after by Amanda who was very knowledgeable and friendly and persevered to get the work done despite having computer problems.

I called in to talk face to face to a person about my contract ending.
I spoke with Robert, Rob was very helpful and knowledgable.
He went through offers and I signed up to a cheaper contract. I then went on to discuss broadband and again signed up to a much cheaper contract. Well done and thanks to Rob, as system glitches we're not helpful.
