Mixed experience: Very good quality, but delivery issues.
I had a home delivery from Waitrose. While there was a positive, there were also negatives.
The Positive:
Product Quality: I am very pleased with the quality of the items I purchased; everything arrived in very good condition.
The Negatives:
Noise Sensitivity: During the process, the driver deliberately dropped an empty plastic crate from a significant height onto the concrete floor. As someone with autism who is very sensitive to loud noises, this was a distressing and startling experience.
Delivery Positioning: The initial placement of the stacked containers was poor, making it difficult for me to reach them. I had to ask the driver to move the stack closer to me so I could manage the unpacking.
While I value the quality of Waitrose products, I hope the delivery teams can be more mindful of noise and placement in the future to ensure a more accessible experience for all customers.
Waitrose and partners
We have used Waitrose shopping delivery for well over a year and service has always been efficient, polite, on time, cost effective and of course all the drivers are all great with some who stand out for exceptional helpfulness.
Even any refund, which was once, seems hassle free. Thank you Waitrose and Partners
Customer service AI not human
I exchanged several emails with customer service before realising I was not dealing with a human being but AI, hence the nonsensical exchanges. The issue was only resolved after I posted a letter to head office. Their system is infuriating and time wasting.
Customer service,,,,,,,where,
Waitrose, possibly the UK's most expensive supermarket chain. It would be safe to assume that custome service would be good, so how come I feel like an inconvenience when I go there. Tills poorly manned, whilst staff members (partners) stand around and watch you. I waited five minutes at the fish counter (unmanned again) while a "partner" continued to stack a chiller unit, two other "partners" passed me wearing their communication devices and ignored me. I gave up I went to the till to pay for my goods and mentioned the episode to the "partner" serving me, and was advised to speak to someone the next time I go in. And there's me thinking I just have. So if anyone that goes to Holsworthy Waitrose and I approach them for a moan, it is because I was advised to. A complete and utter shower, who treat customers with contempt
I’ve been a Waitrose customer for over…
I’ve been a Waitrose customer for over 40 years. Now terrible customer service. So many mistakes and Edgware Road Branch London W2 is an absolute disgrace. The freezers need replacing most of the time they are out of order. Rude staff and empty shelves. Waitrose is no longer a first class store.

Have always had such good service at Waitrose in Worcester and the staff are always so polite and friendly. Prefer to shop as well as local farm shops because of their ethics and quality.
Harassed for feedback!
I really like Waitrose food, but they don't have a branch in my town. I was passing one recently, though, so I popped in buy some croissants and another couple of things for breakfast. So far, they've emailed me twice for my feedback. The second email read: "Not had chance to tell us about your shopping?" Yes, you've already given me a chance, but it's one I was happy to pass up — it's just some croissants...what can go wrong?!
The irony is that a small supermarket premises became vacant in my town recently, and I wrote asking them to open a branch here. They didn't bother to reply...
Terrible Customer Service
Long standing clients of Waitrose and JLP generally. Shop at their stores; insurance customers and have their credit cards.
On 12th January we drove into their Harpenden store and or car was materially damaged by an unsecured parking barrier. Full apology from the manager/photos of the damage taken etc.
It was then passed up to head office and we were asked to get two quotes (which we did). Enter stage left their "claims handlers" Keoghs who informed us they will complete their investigations by mid-March.
We are left driving around with a damaged car (including a broken petrol cap) and Waitrose have washed their hands of the process and basically said nothing to do with them now. Extremely disappointed
Late, missing items, charged full amount
Food delivered a day late. Multiple missing items. Charged full amount. Left negative feedback. They had no interest in addressing it. Won't shop here again and will dispute the transaction given that items didn't arrive. Very poor.
The team at my local Cheltenham…
The team at my local Cheltenham Waitrose are always so helpful and cheery. I just wanted give a special mention to Jane who always goes above and beyond to help me find what I need when I’m in store. Keep up the good work, everyone! X

Shopping at Waitrose Malvern as a…
Shopping at Waitrose Malvern as a non-Caucasian male is a unfathomable racist experience in its most subtle form. Enjoy having the white silver-haired security chap, who has the elegance of a morbidly obese polar bear, follow you through every aisle as you fill your shopping trolley, expecting you to "do a runner" at any given time. The only bonus was watching the shock horror on his face as I paid for my purchases with my Barclays platinum credit card.
Waitrose should simply have a sign at their front entrance to inform us that not all races are welcomed, quite simply because they hold out of touch pre-conceived bigoted ideologies. Overrated shop run by first class clowns.
Misled by Waitrose
I have ordered a buffet for a funeral online. The order information states that the order can be amended unless the relevant items are already being prepared. I have a link to my order that shows which items these are. I have just tried to amend items that are not being prepared and have been told that I can’t amend anything at all as the order contains entertainment items. Feeling misled and really quite upset, this is not what you need when trying to organise a funeral.
My experience with this delivery…
My experience with this delivery service was highly disappointing. I booked a specific time slot, but they attempted delivery at an entirely different time/day. Because I wasn't home during their unscheduled attempt, they kept the full payment without providing the service.
When I contacted customer support to resolve this, the service was unhelpful and dismissive. It feels like the system is designed to retain customer money regardless of whether the delivery actually happens. I would advise caution before booking.
Had an accident today
Had an accident today. Tripped and jar of sticky malt spread over the entire contents of my tote leather bag, most worrying my iPhone too. The two customer service ladies at Fulham Broadway couldn’t do enough to help and even rescued my iPhone. One even offered to give me one of her handbags if I didn’t have a replacement. We see the very best in some people when we need help and I certainly saw it today. Thank you
Cakes are extremely unhealthy at Waitrose cafe
Yesterday i had a piece of cake along with a cappuccino at Waitrose St Katherines Dock branch (cake was 1.5£) at lunch time. After having the cake, i felt very sick. I had to visit a GP as my system was literally paralyzed, i wonder what Waitrose uses probably the make the cake cheaper, but it's dangerous. Never buy cake from the Waitrose Cafe. It's poisonous...
The wine bar at the back of the store.
We visited Waitrose at Canary Wharf. This store is excellent but even better is the small wine bar at the back of the store which we go to for lunch when in the vicinity.
The ‘served on a slate’ lunches are excellent value and the accompanying wine on offer is perfect. This time we were greeted and served by Joanna who was an absolute delight, she couldn’t do enough and made our visit even more pleasurable. Thanks Joanna!

Waitrose customer service is going down…
Waitrose customer service is going down hill. They no longer care about the customers anymore. The new Little Treat incentive is a con. You spend the money to get the treat, they send you an email to say you have earned it, then when you add it to your online shop they say you can't have it! There is nothing worse than having something taken away from you or not given when promised. They should just get rid of the scheme and give you a money off your shop voucher instead. Disgusting!
No different from any other Supermarket
I have shopped at Waitrose for years - in general it is a more relaxed experience (but not better than any other super market and of course more expensive.) However, I have never found it to live up to its reputation for quality. This is getting noticeably worse as prices rise and more and more junk food appears on its shelves. Its organic range is very limited and the Duchy range ought to be ashamed of itself as the quality of its produce is atrocious. Waitrose used to do organic bread but no longer seems to. The organic veg range is poor and as I say, I think the Duchy range is substandard. Customer services are going downhill as well, sometimes living up to expectations other times falling well below. When I bought a fresh coconut that was full of fungus inside I din't even get a "sorry about that", and certainly no refund. I also had trouble getting my money refunded on a solar lamp I had treated myself to which clearly was not working. Speaking of customer service, staff are pretty thin on the ground if you need help, and waiting times can be long. Waitrose has steadily headed towards the ranks of the other supermarkets, selling tasteless rubbish dressed up as scrumptious food thanks to additives, chemicals and taste enhancers. Most sweet dishes taste purely of sugar and most savouries taste of salt or even nothing at all and if you are lucky to find something good they stop stocking it.
Unfortunately they seem to happily ignore the reviews online even when they are consistently bad. Take their organic chicken breasts. I'm not kidding when I say that I.had to stop buying them when I literally could not break down the meat in my mouth to be able to swallow it. I was literally like chewing a piece of rubber.
Lastly, I have noticed that more and more plastic is visible in the food packaging. Only Charlie B seems to make any effort and if its not plastic it is aluminium. People keep going on about cancer and the NHS being overworked. If we are full of plastic it is hardly surprising, and when we are force fed chemicals from toxic pesticides and fertilisers, and additives that are not actually in the form of naturally grown food can we really expect to be healthy?
I requested that the Abingdon branch…
I requested that the Abingdon branch cut back the vegetation on the pathway to the rear of the store several months ago. I caught my eye on a sharp branch. I ought to have claimed really. The vegetation has been cut but not high enough. There is also a lot of dog excrement on the footway. The council says it is Waitrose land and their responsibility to clear.
