Website description of dress code was misleading and incomplete. Customer service responses were unacceptable, short, and condescending. I am a 40+ yo seasoned traveler and arrived for the tour prepared; even the Walks of Italy guide was surprised when I was prohibited from participating in the best part of the tour and the sole reason I booked with WOI. Will never purchase work with WOI again or recommend the company.

Walks of Italy was hands down the best tours, we did 3 in all parts of Italy. Easy location directions, easy to find the guide, gives out head phones and packs to listen and guides were informative and well versed in their tour!

Ignore the guide
Although Italy’s tour guides pride themselves on being trained historians, this guide offered far more opinion than verifiable fact. The only benefit of this tour was relatively early entry into the Sistine Chapel.

We were part of a Pristine Sistine tour…
We were part of a Pristine Sistine tour this past October. Our tour guide did a very poor job of keeping our group together and was inaudible for most of the tour. It was incredibly crowded at the Vatican Museums, and Sistine Chapel, but our guide did a very poor job of keeping himself visible to our group, in fact he lost four members our group including three elderly members. He was asked to use his microphone more effectively, because he had it positioned in such a way, that every time he turned his head to point to something(which was almost half the time)he was not able to be heard. He was unwilling to move his microphone or hold it in his other hand by his mouth to improve his transmissions. I was very disappointed in this tour and what happened didn't need to happen.

Walks of Italy is my go-to company for tours. My friends and I have taken several of their tours over the past four years including three different Vatican tours (Pristine Sistine, Evening and Alone in the Vatican), two different Colosseum tours and the Crypts and Bones tour, and they have all been excellent. Walks of Italy consistently provides friendly and educated guides. The company is well organized at tour time and very friendly and helpful on the phone. We also took Walks' half-day Versailles tour in Paris which was excellent. I highly recommend this tour company which has provided us with so many happy travel experiences! 😊
