I loved bonus time
I loved bonus time. Can no longer get it because people are not able to get their $ back if they cancel and someone else buys the unused room. No cancelations: no bonus time. Will this ever be looked at because being able to look forward to finding bonus time was great. I am no longer a happy timeshare owner.
I have been a owner over 20 years
I have been a owner over 20 years. The last couple of years they have outsourced their rooms. Its been horrible to get reservations for the owners,
I made a reservation to the Oceanside Resort and then added 2 more days. They charged me 2 housekeeping fees and then credit protection. I thought I was changing my housekeeping fee, I have double charges and this happened on Friday. I have been on hold hours (like 6.5 hours on hold). One lady was disconnected me and didn't call back. They have become a joke. The other lady told me her supervisor wont credit my account. This is a new option. I called all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday they were closed, we are on Wednesday and I have been trying every day for hours. Don't buy this timeshare!
Sexist sale rep.
After strong arming sales techniques didn't work the rep decided to go down the sexist route. This didn't work on my wife and I. My wife ended up toying with the sexist bigot who seemed to be lost in the stone age. I would not recommend signing up with cave people.
Perspective of an owner since 2015
Iâll try to break this down as best I can because while I do think thereâs some positives to ownership, itâs also a headache to deal with these people.
Wife and I have been Worldmark owners since around 2015. We opted for a âprogression pathâ where we maintain our cost of upgrading (per point) as long as we upgrade within every five years.
The reason we opted for a timeshare was simple. With both of us working we used to put away $1000 combined, each month and then utilize that for any trips or unexpected trips expenditures which may crop up. Overall, we found less was going toward the actual travel we wanted (mainly due to my career in the military) than we initially intended.
So getting a time share was primarily to force us to use this money for travel. And it worked in that regard. We donât have kids, so weâve always traveled on what would be considered âoff peakâ times. So booking has never been an issue with us. Weâve always found what we initially intended and even got in on some waitlists that ended up getting what we wanted in the first place.
Weâre on the high end of their âsilverâ package meaning we get enough points to travel for about a week every four months (original intention was to stop upgrading when we reached one week every three months).
Weâve also paid off the entire loan before weâve upgraded (twice so far) which has made thing much easier when looking at the overall monthly payment. For us, the time share has been worth it in that regard. The rooms are always amazing and and the service at the resorts has (for the most part but weâll get into that) been incredibly good. Helpful staff and great locations.
Now the bad. The sales and marketing team. These are the people I hate the most and the sole reason this company loses two stars. These clowns wonât leave you alone. Wife and I have a dedicated sales person based out of the Austin, TX property. Heâs the one we tend to go through if we have questions, concerns, or need a little help.
This, however, doesnât prevent every Worldmark employee under the sun from calling us. They use all the normal scams and excuse.
âWe need to discuss your account.â
âWe just want to update you on some new features.â
âWe really need to talk to you because our rules are changing.â
The list goes on and on. But in reality, theyâre just trying to get you on the phone so they can try to upgrade you and fleece more money. Weâve even had them waylay (no other way to describe this behavior) at a few of the resorts. The worst one was in LA. We arrived at the location late into the night (was literally around 2300). Tired from taking a cross country flight and simply trying to get to it room so we could eat, sleep, and get ready for our vacation to start the next day.
Took me 15 minutes to beat the sales people off us as my wife stood there holding our food (that was now getting cold) because they wanted to set up an âupdate meetingâ. Weâre on vacation. Go the hell away.
And this behavior happens a lot. These days when they call, I simply check to ensure the timeshare is paid and current, then immediately block their number. Our representative has always reached out to us, through text mostly, if thereâs something that could be considered important (heâs done it twice since 2015). Itâs one of the reasons we always go back to him when it comes time to upgrade. Because he respects our lives, realizes we just want the timeshare to âworkâ, and doesnât badger us constantly. The rest of Worldmark should take this into consideration. Tried to get on the âno call listâ for awhile. Usually when weâre added it gives us 2-4 months of peace. At this point, itâs just easier to block them.
We have been owners of WorldMark forâŠ
We have been owners of WorldMark for over 22 years and have found that this company has lost all creditability with us and a vast number of members,
This tells the story about WorldMark, we found several review sites online with incredible amount horror story reviews about World Mark
We became so enraged by what we found that we stopped looking, We did read 660 reviews and with rating scale of 1 being the worst 603 rating fall into the worst rating and 37 fall into the second worst rating of 2. This over a 92% dissatisfaction rating, how can a company be allowed to operate this way?
Our latest experience
WorldMark salespeople lie and will tell you anything for the sale, our most recent experience we were told that newest program allowed owners who upgraded to the new Travel up/ Travel and leisure program will be able to book out 24 months in advance, we decided this will finally allow us the chance to actually book without hours of time on the phone and computer trying to book time or set up waitlist that never provide the time you want.
Of course, the sales meeting starts on your first day of vacation. When the sale was completed based on the 24-month booking window, the staff could only give us a flash drive of our new contract because their printer was down, We asked for and e-mail of the contract and were never sent the e-mail. Winter storms delayed our return home as we arrived on day 8 of the 7 day resend period we called to book time, this is when we were told the salespeople misinformed us and the book window was still 13 months. We sent a certified letter of resend the same day, day 8 and after several calls and 2 months later we were told that because we were one day late WorldMark would not accept our resend letter. We asked for an explanation in writing and were told we would be provided one, that never happened as well
Not Worth It
After 15 years of ownership I am looking at every option to GET OUT. Our last stay at Mrytle Beach was borderline abusive by sales staff and the resort was congested and run down, which has sadly been our experience with many resorts now that are in dire need of updating. The resorts are not what they used to be, customer service is deplorable or non-existent and maintenance fees have gone up sharply. Not worth the money. I would much rather save for my vacations and stay at a charming vacation rental, which has been a much better experience overall than Workdmark's run down resorts, difficulty even making a reservation and their exorbitant maintenance fees.
Avoid at all costs
After 23 years, the companies going downhill. Had a representative lie to me about specific benefits and then when I found out I was misinformed they tried to make me pay for more credits just to fix the mistake of the rep. Itâs an unethical company money driven they donât care about members no matter how long youâve been there. Avoid at all cost.
Timeshare Nightmare and Deceptive Sales Practices
We have had it with Worldmark by Wyndham! We expect to be released from our fraudulently obtained contract NOW! To date, we have corresponded with them at least a dozen times. We have presented them with the deceptive sales practices and the completely fraudulent actions of the Las Vegas Sales Team. We requested the cancellation of our contract in writing and all they have done is use stall tactics, claiming they are investigating the situation. Weâve had to open disputes with the credit bureaus because TWO different credit cards were opened without our knowledge. One was with Barclayâs which they used to secure monies to âclose the dealâ. In fact, Barclays sent us a letter stating they conducted an investigation and told us we were not responsible for the fraudulent activity and closed the account. However, a few weeks later, they sent us another letter claiming that Worldmark has provided them with proof it was not a fraudulent transaction and we owe the money. We now believe that Barclays is in collusion with Worldmark. They are actively trying to get us on the phone to talk. Forget it! We already fell for this once. They are masters of manipulation and lies are clearly common business practices.
Over the course of the five plus hour presentation, we were told by the 4-5 salespeople (among other lies) that we could exit the timeshare contract at any time. Yet, that is not in the contract. What we did discover in the contract was a 5-calendar day rescission period as outlined by Nevada Law. The "real estate agent" in charge of reviewing the contract, to âprotect usâ, did NOT point this out and turned out to be Worldmark management. She took 15 minutes to go over a 51-page contract. This has been a nightmare based on the lack of urgency, empathy, or follow-up from Worldmark. As if your current count of 1,163 complaints over the last 3 years and the 1-star average rating is a testament to your lack of integrity. Step up to the plate and CANCEL OUR CONTRACT!
I would write a zero star just likeâŠ
I would write a zero star just like everybody else. This place is terrible. We are platinum elite members with 70,000 credits. This is the biggest joke of a company Iâve ever been a part of do not waste your money. Do not buy this stupid timeshare. Itâs like highway robbery every other week what are they gonna make us pay for next booking? This is a joke. we have dropped $70,000 into this stupid company and ever since Worldmark by Wyndham took over, itâs been a joke, raising our prices, making it hard donât answer the calls paying for parking $25 per spot to park in San Diego. Thatâs a joke. I canât believe thereâs not a Google to rate Worldmark by Wyndham because theyâre terrible terrible terrible. Terrible terrible.
I would give a 0 if I could.
I would give a 0 if I could.
Totally unprofessional.
I can't give a 0!!
I only gave a 1 because I can't give a 0. Customer service is horrible!! Everyone I call, I'm at least an hour on hold. As an owner, or anybody for that matter, that hold time is extremely excessive!! Booking is another issue. If you don't book months ahead of time, finding a room a couple weeks in advance is almost unheard of. The money you pay to have ownership, customer service should be much better than this!! This is ridiculous!!!
No one should be on hold for an hour during business hours. The booking website is terrible, no customer friendly. The old website was tons better. They should go back to using it again. I feel like I have been hustled by a conartist!
I've been a member since 1996
I've been a member since 1996. Its been great until Wyndham took over. Each year they reduce the number of benefits. They had a great website which is now unusable. Used to have a vip phone number that answered within 10 minutes. They just changed it and it takes 30 minutes to an hour. Properties used to be in good order ..now they are poorly maintained. too many other things to list. Makes me wonder what Wyndham is actually trying to do with worldmark.
I have been on hold on vacationâŠ
I have been on hold on vacation planning line for over 2 hours. They have never fixed this problem. Itâs one thing to pay for your timeshare but trying to use it is a nightmare! Worldmark by Wyndham your over billion dollar company reach out to a call center and fix this
Wish I hadn't signed up with a dishonest company!
They raised the maintenance fee. No notice provided! Sent me to collection for $13. Collection folks answer the phone. Worldmaek has my phone number, mailing and email address! STAY AWAY!!!!
This is not an investment, don't let the sales people get you.
Called not because of the raised dues, but because of an issue of not letting us book. No pick up, no number in line, no call back. I hate this company. Luckily/not luckily it is my parents who sunk money here and not me. But you don't know how many times I had to stop them from sinking $$$$$ more into this stupid company (multiple times).
Anyone who can be on their sales team have sold their lives to the devil because its lie after lie, after lie. Don't fall for the short term gratification of a vacation in Europe - when you're locked in for life.
This is the WORST company and worstâŠ
This is the WORST company and worst thing you will ever do in your life if you sign up for this. We got talked into signing up and it was the biggest mistake of my life. They lie, they tell you what you want to hear, and then when you are stuck with it there is nothing but fee and extra charges if you are lucky enough to even get a reservation. Some of the main places we vacation are never available. They are always full. You pay for "resort fees and dues" and some of the resorts are dirty and old. You are better off paying for hotels or an Airbnb. if you have not signed up with them do not do it. I have called numerous times and tried to get help and they will not do anything. It's a trap. You will be stuck with this until you die. I have wasted so much money on this it's sinful.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is THE worst company to deal with. Don't buy anything from them; everything is a scam, and no one helps you with anything after the contract is signed. They are raising their dues twice within two months. We are trying to get someone to address this; of course, no one picks up the phone, and no one is helping! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Your life is better off without them.
Get off the pot Worldmark people!!
So, does anyone know how to get rid of this timeshare?
If so, please let the rest of us know. I will gladly remove it from my life. All I have been doing is paying the dues and now they want to raise it. Their as crooked as our politicians in our government. They don't answer the phone to assist with their stupid website. I wouldn't even rate a one star, zero is more like it..
I would agree with most folks onâŠ
I would agree with most folks on consumer affairs regarding Worldmark..less than one star! Words of warning⊠donât buy this timeshare! It will be attached to your estate when you die and they will eat up as much money (you meant to leave to children or spouse) as poss if they are not named as beneficiaries and the family members handling your estate will be responsible for paying these debts as debts accrued by you. Itâs a scam! My mom has had this timeshare for years and it is paid off and even though we can prove that we would be the rightful heirs to change things on the account and have a death cert they like to waste your time & more money making them go to court to get a doc saying the beneficiary is the executor. Ps every place Iâve visited my mom at over the years has had things broken on the property and in the room ⊠maintenance fees???? For what!? Itâs literally the number one reason I didnât sign up for their bs myself! I went to a seminar and told them that I know my mom pays maintenance fees so I feel that thereâs no reason for them to place their customers into rooms that have things dirty or broken! Timeshares are like forcing your loved ones to pay for a crappy gym membership forever! Beware!!!!!! They have mostly a one star rating everywhere for a reason!
We are dipping our toes in the waterâŠ
We are dipping our toes in the water and so far it's very difficult to navigate through our initial venture. We have our booking confirmation for an Anaheim resort but it's hard to access the features/inclusions online. Looks like that's about par for the course. I'll be sure to update this review after our experience.
