Sailing out of Olbia, Sardinia
Sailing out of Sardinia, between the North Coast of Sardinia and the South Coast of Corsica is a hoot. Recommend it to all sailors. The Strait of Bonifacio has every bit of wind that it is known for. Spectacular cliffs on the south coast of Corsica. We had a 46 foot Dufour with self tacking jib, easy to sail. Had very good sea keeping behavior. Heads up on the the main sail, its a mast furler, easy to jam on the in haul unless you keep good tension on it. Also, Mediterranean docking is stern first in tight quarters and narrow channels and wind! Challenging to captains not used to it, have a plan.

Die vorort zu unterzeichnenden VertrÀge (Ìber 10 Unterschriften) sind gespickt von in dieser Form unÌblichen Klauseln, die allesamt zugunsten des Vercharterers ausgestaltet sind. Am Tage der SchiffsÌbernahme eine Zumutung. Diese Klauseln werden dann in aller HÀrte durchgesetzt. In unserem Fall wurde die Kaution von EUR 3'500.00 abgebucht, obwohl kein Schaden offiziell festgestellt wurde. Das Schiff war in der Folgewoche normal in Betrieb.
Das Vorgehen hat scheinbar System. Ich kann nur sagen: HÀnde Weg!

Man hat uns angeboten mit derselben Yacht wieder auszulaufen unter erneuter Zahlung einer Kaution von ⬠3'500.00. Da fragt man sich doch, was das soll? Ist das Schiff nun defekt oder nicht? Die ZustÀndigen halten ihre Kunden wohl fÌr Deppen! Ich warte immer noch auf eine Rechnung fÌr die Reparatur des Schadens, den ich verursacht haben soll. Ich bleibe dabei: HÀnde weg!

We are sorry for what you write, since we have tried to reach out to you via your agency for a long time without success to prepare everything before your arrival, and we always send the contract with all terms and conditions at the moment of booking. Your case was unusual due to the impossibility to contact you with the proper advance, we had to sign everything on the day of the delivery.
We would like to remind you that during your holiday you caused a grounding, due to sailing in one of the most dangerous areas for navigation. You decided to stay in port and not have a replacement boat.
Your review does not correspond to reality and we will be happy to have you on board our boats again if you want.
Update: in order to continue staying on board in any case we gave you 2 options either coming back to port and stay there after the inspection or renew the security deposit and continue your holiday after establishing if the vessel was safe to keep sailing. We gave our availability and flexibility, and you decided to stay in port. The amount taken from the deposit is simply the deductible to open the insurance claim. If you have any further requests you can contact us via e-mail. In complete accordance to the norms we regularly sent you the damage statement along with the invoice on 11/06 to the e-mail address provided by you. The allegations made by you are completely false and we honestly do not understand why you keep making them, we kindly ask you to stop making false accusations. Thanks.

Good Experience - recommendedâŠ
Overall good experience nice modern Dufour yachts and fantastic base in the Marine Park area northern Sardinia. Antonina in particular is great to deal with excellent support. I recommend paying the extra for an early check in order to get prioritised as they get very busy on check in day. UK yacht charter company ourselves, do recommend and will be using again.

It was a great experience
It was a great experience, the staff in the office was very helpful and had no problems explaining everything. On thing to watch out for is the system of forbidden areas, which are shallow areas to stay away from (if you navigate responsibly you will avoid them anyway).
The boat was well equiped, showing some signs of its age, but noting out of the ordinary. We started from Marina di Portisco.
Would recommend!

The catamaran was very well maintained. Everything worked as it should. The staff welcomed us very nicely and all formalities were taken care of in max 15 minutes. The gentleman issuing the catamaran showed us what was where on the supply list. During the cruise we had a problem with the shower but the staff arrived within 2 hours. I recommend this company

The Boat preparation was perfect and in very good conditions.
We were sailing at the really beginning of the season, it seems some admin tasks were not yet running smoothly and caused some misunderstandings.

We have enjoyed using Yachting in Sardinia for many reasons.
We had great communication from the booking office in preparation for our trip, we came from South Africa and didn't know what to expect.
We had booked transport from the airport to the marina with Yachting in Sardinia, the transport was on time and worked well for us. At the marina, arrival and boarding was well organized, we booked for early boarding, and the yacht was ready for us at the set time. The marina staff helped us get comfortable with the yacht and they were well informed with all the equipment. The bedding and towels were clean and in good condition. We also used the service to have drinks and some food pre-delivered to the yacht, this was great, everything was ready onboard waiting. All crockery and cooking appliances were in good condition.
We received weather warnings via email and messages, together with a better rate for the marina stays during some bad weather.
I feel we had good value for money and we enjoyed dealing with Yachting in Sardinia.
We have booked again for 2025.
