1★ – Absolutely shocking service from 4th Utility
I contacted 4th Utility to cancel my service and clearly explained I moved out of the property in January 2026. The initial adviser was helpful and asked me to send proof of my tenancy ending so they could look at backdating the account — which I did straight away.
The next day I called back, and from there it went downhill fast.
I was met with the worst attitude I’ve ever experienced in customer service. The agent refused to escalate my issue, told me there was no one else I could speak to, and even claimed a manager or CEO would “tell me the same.” Completely dismissive and unprofessional. I was also told it was my fault for not cancelling sooner — despite me trying to resolve it properly.
I even had to record the call — something I have never had to do with any company before — just to protect myself. Only then did he suddenly say a manager would call me back. That was 4 weeks ago — no call ever came.
To make matters worse, I then received a marketing call from them because they say I’m out of contract — yet they still haven’t resolved my complaint. I again requested a manager call on a Friday and was promised one on Monday… once again, nothing.
Now they’re trying to charge me out-of-contract broadband fees for a property I haven’t lived in since January.
Disgraceful communication, zero accountability, and completely unacceptable customer service. Avoid at all costs.

10/10, reliable, not greedy, quick response
Always answer the phone in less than 10 minutes! Very rare to find someone that does that. Not greedy and offer you fair deals. Never had and issues with my wifi and been with them for a year now. Just called to renew my contract and sorted so quick, no increase in price and could stick to 12 months instead of 24. Staff are friendly and get job done fast.

Got the cheaper broadband package but 160mb average is more than adequate.

Initial experience good 6 months in poor
After being with the company since October 2025 and following a late installation still not managed to get resolved the compensation I was entitled to for this despite contacting Customer services Multiple times and sending multiple emails.
My 900MB speed had more recently become very unstable with disconnects about 4 or 5 times a day. Following a call with the technical support last Friday, they suggested a full reset, which we did. Following this the 900mb speed was still limited to about 100MB and the engineer advised it was the cable I was using that because it wasnt a Cat6 cable I wouldnt get the 900MBps speed. Although a few hours later using the very same cable the speedtest did register 900Mbps, so it wasnt the cable. The following days I experienced further connectivity and performance issues and it was found that the IP address I was connecting from was apparently linked to Uruguay, and due to security restrictions in place I was unable to connect. I performed another power off and back on and the IP had changed to a London UK one. However within 24 hours it has reverted to an IP from Uruguay again. I have been on hold now to customer support for 45 mins and 35 mins I have been position 1 in the queue. This is very poor service and even poorer customer service. I would not recommend this broadband to anyone and I have a work colleague who had similar issues.

We are moving home
We are moving home. Unfortunately 4th utility is not available in the area we are moving to. Tommy explained that by following instructions given we will be released from our contract. We have been very happy with the service provided and would have continued to be customers if service was available.

I was searching for a new broadband supplier. I came across Rise on the Internet and gave them a call.I spoke to an operator named Jill. She was knowledgeable and thankfully patient answering all my questions. The offer was very competitive and I was reassured that any issues would be addressed timeously. For me this is a new company and I look forward to a positive experience over the next 24 months.

Frustrating Experience with Incorrect Billing and Contract Changes
I have experienced ongoing billing issues with 4th Utility over the past two months. Despite my contract stating a monthly charge of £29, I was billed a higher amount on two consecutive occasions. When I contacted customer support to correct the charges and request a refund, my contract was moved—without my consent—to a more expensive tariff of £42 per month.
After raising the issue again, I was assured this was an error and that my billing would return to the agreed amount. However, I have now been charged £42 once more this month, despite their confirmation that the issue had been resolved.
This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I hope it is addressed properly.

Don’t be fooled by the messages in response to these negative reviews stating they’re really sorry and they’ll be in touch ASAP- was told this 5 days ago and had total radio silence since! Still paying for a service which isn’t up to standard despite being assured this would be cancelled free of charge due to their failings.
Update 04/06- provided my details for the second time, let’s see if anything actually happens this time…
