Bannerlife is not what it once was
Me and my husband have been with BannerLife for 20 years. When our term life policies came up for renewal, of course I reached out to them first. I will tell you that this company is a VERY different company than it was 20 years ago and not in a good way. They quoted my husband a rate that was 10x more per month. We quickly declined that. When I tried to get mine approved underwriting kept hanging it up for reasons that weren’t even real. I had to have my doc write a letter explaining that I am one of the more healthy patients she has. I started this process in January and here in April they are just now finalizing it. My rep called and said that because of things citied in underwriting, my quote for my monthly payment almost tripled per month! Needless to say I declined it. I have been completely disgusted with my experience! AARP has already quoted me a policy and I plan to accept it. They were super easy and I was approved in minutes! This was my experience with bannerlife 20 years ago. Wish they would go back to being that company again. I recommended them to tons of people, but now I would highly discourage trying to get a policy with them. I mean, if they are this hard to get the policy could you imagine your family trying to get the money if something happened to you? They would starve and be homeless before it went through. Bottom line, the company transition in 2026 was not good.

For nine years everything is good with Banner Life, they send too much mail but so do all insurance companies. Just recently Banner did some branding update and I guess they figured out how much they were wasting on 5 notices per quarter and multiple emails, I got no notice and no emails, seems as though my email address did not survive this "rebrand". I finally got a final notice in the mail that I need to pay or canceled. I go to website, no way to pay. Call customer service get the worse automated help in the history of automation, finally get a person and they tell me the only way I can pay is via phone, WTF, sounds like scam, but it was not. I just want to be able to pay my life insurance bill online.

Customer service is very poor. I was having trouble logging in to my online account and the reset password feature was not working. I called the customer service number and was told they could not help with the login features after I was on hold for over 11 minutes. If customer service cannot help, and the automated login help is not working, what is the customer supposed to do to access their online account?
I would not trust Banner with take out
