They solve problems quickly and with knowledge. Other Life Insurance companies work 9-5, Banner is open late and on weekends for their customers.

Some of their interview questions are worded in a way they can be interpreted differently and have varied answers based on your own interpretation of the question. Once the underwriter gets the response and you find out you interpreted the question differently than they did and you try to provided better clarification on your response, they just decline you coverage all together.

I’ve had a term life insurance policy with them for 8 years and it’s been a pain every year. Automatic payments are excessively difficult to set up and access. My husband and I both have insurance through them but the accounts are separated making payments annoying and complicated. I’m probably just gonna find someone else to work with.

After more than 20 years as a Banner Life policyholder, I recently needed to make a few minor administrative updates to my policy following revisions to our family trust. What should have been a simple process unfortunately turned into a frustrating and time-consuming experience.

Over the course of several calls, I received different and often conflicting information from Banner representatives regarding what documentation was required to complete the updates. Despite providing the requested materials and following their instructions, the changes have still not been completed.

Attempts to escalate the issue have also been disappointing. Supervisors have not returned calls, and even after sending a written letter to Mark Holweger, I never received a response from him or anyone on his staff.

This has been especially frustrating given my two decades of loyalty to Banner Life. I recently made similar administrative updates to policies with other insurance companies, and those requests were handled promptly and professionally.

Based on this experience, I would encourage others evaluating life insurance providers to carefully compare customer service and administrative support, as my experience with Banner Life has been very disappointing.
