Not having much luck with my warranty claim

I bought a Safari Chef 2 in May this year. Despite very light use and good care, the ignition stopped working soon after and it now burns with an orange flame and does not get hot enough to grill anything. I’ve tried contacting customer services team and eventually had a ticket raised (4565) when I emailed all the details again to the warranty dept. I just haven’t had any reponse or solution. It’s really poor customer service when you consider how expensive these items are.

Our Grillo Chef 40 caught fire shortly…

Our Grillo Chef 40 caught fire shortly after lighting, burning the blue plastic base. Thankfully, those around thought quickly to disconnect the gas.
We're great supporters of Cadac and trust their products so this came as a bit of a shock. It's a great bbq and we have had many fellow camping friends purchase one after seeing how fab it is!
This review is not to knock down the product (incidents happen!) but to warn folks not to leave it unattended - just in case! We have emailed cadac warranty department and are awaiting a response!

Ceramic grill plates don’t last

Ceramic grill plates only lasted 5-6 uses before starting to flake. Getting customer service and warranty departments to answer emails is very difficult. Seems you have to pay £100 for replacement grill plates every few months or enjoy eating ceramic flakes with your food. Better to buy another BBQ from a differ manufacturer.

To clarify following feedback from Cadac below: A set of grill plates for their Entertainer 4 model is £100, per email from Cadac. £40 for large plate and £30 for two small plates which make up the grill. The point being they don’t last more than a few uses unless you like eating ceramic. They also don’t make alternative (cast iron) plates.

Cadac Grillo caught fire

Our cadac grillo chef caught fire within 5 mins of lighting. Underneath was completely melted. Very dangerous and definitely not fit for purpose. Thankfully we were watching it or could have been much worse

Good Warranty Service

I had a faulty burner which became stuck onto the main assembly. I contacted Cadac Uk and they swiftly arranged for the faulty part to be collected and replacement sent to me within the same week. Fantastic warranty service by friendly and helpful staff. Would recomend

We had a problem with the bag on our citichef contacted Cadac and they resolved it very quickly absolutely fantastic more companies should follow there example. Great grill great customer service nothing more to say.

Brilliant service from the Cadac…

Brilliant service from the Cadac aftercare team!
I recently purchased a Safari 2 Chef and was really concerned when it burst into flames on first ignition.
Having explained what happened to the team, it appears that it was not due to a manufacturing fault but probably due to incorrect connection of the gas supply.
Despite this, Cadac replaced the damaged unit free of charge. What excellent customer service that’s not always replicated elsewhere. Thank you Cadac!

Excellent customer service

I contacted cadac customer services on Wednesday and spoke to Katherine, after explaining my issue she emailed over a DPD returns label, I returned the failed item on the Same day which they received on Friday, 90 mins after they had signed for it my replacement parts where posted out and I received them today Saturday. I can not thank cadac and Katherine enough for their great customer service and will definitely recommend them to friends and family and continue to use cadac in the future when I’m ready to upgrade my bbq.

Perfect Customer Service

After receiving a damaged cadac product from GoOutdoors and being told to return it to a store and order another online, and wait for a refund, I spoke with Cadac uk who are sending a replacement part in the next days post. Absolutely excellent customer service from Cadac UK and not good from GoOutdoors.

All I can say is that we don’t live in…

All I can say is that we don’t live in a perfect world, pretty obvious hey. When I bought my Median 4 built in BBQ recently there was minor bit of shipping damage, when I say minor, it was a very small dent about the size of thumbnail. So pretty minor. When I mentioned it, I was offered a full replacement which I declined as it wasn’t that bad. Two days later I received a few Goodwill items, appreciated but not expected. I was super impressed in that a week later the complete damaged part was sent to me, wow, how good was that. Then I bought an accessory (TEPPANYAKI PLATE) which I had a couple of product designs queries about. In this regard, I had several calls with the super efficient Kathryn to sort my query out. All swimmingly well. In my book CADAC and Kathryn in particular are just excellent.

To conclude, the non perfect world i alluded to at the start of this review is improved enormously by the very positive attitude .

safari chef

Bought the safari chef - absolutely love it! Had a problem with the ignition - contacted Cadac - excellent customer service. From initial contact to conclusion, prompt in responding to emails, helpful with advice and information and in resolving the problem.

Omg that was scary

Omg that was scary .. the whole bbq set on fire .. really bad quality I won’t be using Cadac again. The blue plastic started to burn and set alight very frightening indeed.

Dangerous product

Grill, when used with the dome for cooking pizza is dangerous. The first time we used it the temperature got so hot it melted the locking collar which holds the legs and the whole thing collapsed. Cadac gave an answer which made no sense and told us to go and buy a replacement part. The response time was very slow and unhelpful. We will not be buying anything Cadac related again. We have since seen several reviews on forums that state that the same thing has happened to others.

Hi Kevin, sorry to hear you were disappointed with our service. We did advise you that as your unit was approx. 7 years old the issue was unlikely to have been caused by a manufacturing defect. We provided advice on what the cause of the incident would be and where replacement parts were available to purchase. We apologise for the time it took for our team to deal with your case, it's a busy time of year for us and the pandemic has left us with some staff shortages, but we will feedback to our Customer Service Manager on this.

Cadac pizza stone unfit for purpose

bought pizza stone first one delivered arrived cracked replacement received and cracked in use only on medium temperature, cadac wouldn't replace said it had been over heated very poor after sales and trying to avoid warranty claim

We did advise that as the pizza stone has not been used in accordance with the user instructions, and in our experience we believe the damage was the result of it being overheated from the preheat time and high temperature you advised using. We can assure you Cadac take their manufacturers’ responsibilities very seriously and we deal with each individual case on its own merit, based on the information and evidence provided by the consumer.

Food in the woods

Great piece of kit, have Carri Chef with chef pan, so many uses, love the pizza stone great pizzas once you get the hang of it, also love the tapa dishes when using the grill..

I have the Cadac Carrichef 2 Chef pan combo which I use when caravanning. It is so portable and packs away in well designed storage bag. It comes with Pot stand, BBQ grill and large chef pan which both have an amazing green grill ceramic surfaces that are so easy to clean!! I bought the pizza stone and roast pan that are just brilliant. We never cook inside the caravan all the meals are now cooked outdoors on the Cadac.
Love my Cadac!!

Cadac are very easy to deal with

Cadac are very easy to deal with. Our citychef bbq proved a little confusing for us at first and the help was given freely. When we then went on the blow the lid off and smash the handle, a replacement was supplied quickly, without so much as a snigger; in fact we were assured that its a common mistake. ( an element of patience and kindness here I think).
Good product, good company
