io e il mio compagno abbiamo affitato un van 4x4 california beach , mezzo assolutamente perfetto , dotato di tutti i confort e gomme davvero affidabili ! servizio assolutamente perfetto e super veloce , da quando arrivi all'aeroporto a quando ritiri il veicolo a quando lo riconsegni . personale davvero gentile e professionale . Super consigliato !

My partner and I rented a Fiat Doblo in December 2025 and we enjoyed the experience. The vehicle was very well maintained and quite new, and the heating worked perfectly, which was very important, especially during our travel dates. Customer service was excellent, they answered all our questions by email before we even booked and responded very quickly. The staff at the office upon pickup were also very helpful, explaining everything we needed to know about the campervan. We are very happy and will definitely rent from them again on our next trip, we'd love to return in the summer.

Hemos disfrutado de un viaje espectacular viajando con niños en autocaravana. Fuimos 11 día por toda la isla y no tuvimos ningún problema con la autocaravana, estaba muy limpia y super bien equipada, a mis hijos les encantó la experiencia! Antes de llegar ya estábamos encantados con la atención al cliente, nos resolvieron muchas dudas que teníamos al no haber estado nunca antes en Islandia. Además el servicio de recogida en el aeropuerto fue rápido y fácil. Seguro repetiremos este viaje, la próxima vez intentaremos coger una camper 4x4 con ellos, para visitar las Highlands.

Reservé con ellos la Campervan XL junto a 3 amigos más y la experiencia fue inmejorable. Teníamos espacio incluso para uno más pero preferíamos ganar un poco de comodidad extra. Para tenerlo claro estuvimos pidiendo información y nos dieron bastante ayuda de cara a elegir el vehículo adecuado para lo que queríamos. El equipo de atención fue inmejorable.

En la empresa de renting nos dieron un hornillo que no funcionaba y estuvimos dos días sin poder calentar la comida porque no nos creían. Finalmente se hicieron cargo, pero muy mala atención al cliente.

Sin embargo, por parte de Campervan Iceland, he recibido muy buena respuesta y es de agradecer que cuidan al cliente y se preocupan de si no se puede subsanar el error ya ocurrido, por lo menos ofrecer una alternativa.

No issues with the van, the staff was super helpful and very friendly I had to get in touch few times during the trip and answer straight away, definitely next time in Iceland if I will check campervan Iceland first if the price is good, all the equipment needed was inside, and the video they send before is very useful of how to operate the equipment, collection from and to the airport was as well smooth, really happy overall with the service, I’ll get a bigger van next time we were 2 adults ‘) we had a dupplo van

***Review of the Company***
Pickup was disappointing. Critical info about the “all-risk” insurance (like it doesn’t cover tow trucks on F-roads or the chassis under the van) was never mentioned by staff; we only discovered it after reading the policy ourselves. Also, we only discovered after emailing in the middle of our trip that the van couldn’t cross rivers (the all risk insurance also won't cover if you get stuck). Something that was never mentioned when we collected it. The video guide didn’t help much either: we struggled for over a week to figure out how to close the roof tent properly, with no explanation from anyone.

Overall, the company provides the van, but transparency, insurance clarity, and proper handover need serious improvement.

***Review of their Volkswagen California Beach***
The van was far from what we expected. Although advertised as a 4x4 camper, it struggled on muddy hills and felt more like a regular van than a fully camperised vehicle. Cookware is included, but there’s no proper kitchen.

Key issues:
- Cooler didn’t work well.
- Side front passenger door often wouldn’t open.
- Front interior lights unreliable.
- Windshield wipers sometimes impossible to stop.
- Loose plastic and parts falling apart inside and outside.
- One rear side window wouldn’t close properly, causing noise and drafts.
- Leaks during heavy rain.
- Limited charging: three old-style 12V sockets (for cigarette lighters), but only one USB adapter.
- Tiny space for four people. Daily luggage Tetris with no proper storage for sleeping bags or pillows.
- Downstairs bed uncomfortable; cushions thin and wouldn’t stay flat.
- Upstairs rooftop tent bed had two uncovered windows: wind and rain came in, forcing all four of us to sleep downstairs some nights.

For 4 travellers with 3 20kg suitcases, it’s cramped and uncomfortable. The van is poorly maintained, and unreliable. Better suited for a short trip in the middle of the summer with fewer people and less gear.

Worst experience I've had with a rental company. We took the top-tier insurance and it didn't cover almost anything. The car was falling apart from the start. Even so, we had to pay 5000 eur in repairs because something broke and they blamed us, in addition to the 500 eur from the insurance. PLEASE DON'T RENT HERE. Van was everything we needed for 9 days of camping around ring road. Customer service was excellent!

Tutto perfetto senza alcun problema. Il Van era quello che ci aspettavamo e per prenderlo e restituirlo abbiamo impiegato pochissimo. Sia all’arrivo in aeroporto che al momento della restituzione abbiamo usufruito del servizio navetta di rent.is, con un’attesa minima. Viaggiare in camper è veramente il modo migliore di vedere l’Islanda

Good campervan (clean. Kitted out well with bedding and also everything to cook) and professional staff. Good service on the road (if you need info). Tablet with WiFi and information apps very much appreciated. Competitive price. Recommended

Tout s'est déroulé comme prévu.
On nous attendait à l' aéroport, navette. La location était neuve !
Les employés ont très bien expliqué le contrat.
Au retour, tout s'est très bien déroulé.

The website in nice and informative, the van was new and sparkling clean and the service was BEYOND - for months(!) before and though the trip they replied nicely and effectively within MINUTES for our questions in the email.

Awful experience, system at airport meant we were waiting 40mins before a lift was on its way when we usually just text company and they make their way. Got there and our booking showed basic insurance when we know that when we booked, we chose all options for full insurance cover as the price went up but they refused to accept this and we ended up having to pay extra £450. We then got the van, with various things broken or not working and had to wait another hour for some of these to be fixed. The difficult here is you book with campervan Iceland but then you deal with Europcar. We went with kuku campers last time who we couldn’t fault but they didn’t have the vehicles we needed. Go with them if they do!

Tuvimos muchos problemas con la caravana que nos dieron, tantos que a los dos días nos la tuvieron que cambiar por otra, les pedí ayuda ya que al final yo había contratado con ellos, y aun estoy esperando a que al menos me pregunten si se solucionaron los problemas.
