Chapter 25 Book Club レビュー 

I’ve been part of my local club for a while, and it’s been such a positive experience. The group is friendly and welcoming, and you never feel out of place, even if you haven’t finished the book.

C25 pick interesting books, and the discussions are engaging without being intimidating. I’ve discovered so many titles I wouldn’t have picked up on my own!

What I love most is how relaxed and fun it feels. Conversations can be serious one minute and full of laughs the next, and there’s always room for everyone to share their thoughts. It’s become something I really look forward to each month, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading and good conversation.

I have been able member of the club since it began and absolutely love the club. Over the last couple of years they have evolved to offer so much more and help keep meetups fresh. I have met so many wonderful people and many have become great friends.
There are many things I love about this subscription. Firstly, it is a regular meet up to talk to others about one of my favourite things, books! Due to the different backgrounds of attendees our group selects a wide range of genres for us to read. Whilst I have not liked all the books we have read, I have very much enjoyed the chats around them and the activities directed by our host. I always feel happier leaving a meeting; full of new book recommendations, new perspectives and pleasant socialising.
Chapter 25 also offer a great online service. I have been to several of the author meet ups which have been insightful and engaging. They also host online specials for different books which have some fantastic activities and discussions managed by an online host. Finally, there is the whats app group where we share ideas, offers on books or continue the discussion further.
I couldn't recommend them more :)

Being part of Chapter 25 is truly an incredible experience!

I was a little bit nervous at first before my initial meet up but once I got there I felt so at ease. All the members are lovely and the host works really hard to speak to everyone. The books are a range of genres which encourages me to read outside my comfort zone. Being meet up only means I can choose to read the books how I like, which is helping my book buying habits!

The community around Chapter 25 is lovely and the fact that you can access exclusive events, like online book talks and activities, brings a whole new level to the group.

I'd recommend this for any book lovers who are looking to share their joy of reading!

I don’t normally do reviews but as I was doing one for someone else I started browsing reviews. Found this page and thought I absolutely must leave a review . Omg I love chapter 25. It’s so so lovely to be part of something meaningful. Meeting people I’d never have met before, where we all have something in common! Reading! I do the monthly subscription without book as I’m a kindle lover so buy the book myself. So far everyone is so lovely. Not just the members but the hosts! I always, without fail, have such a great evening. But I think the most important thing for me is reading something I’d never normally read. Sometimes it’s not great, but other times I have been so touched by a book, a classic, that I’ve almost shocked myself. I’ve also moved house and have started at a new club. Honestly I can’t believe how lovely they’ve all been. I think I need it more than ever right now, not knowing anyone locally. And there’s a Christmas party where other groups come together. I could rave for ages, so I’ll stop now. But i think the fact there’s a massive waiting list (my friends on it) says it all.

I joined Chapter 25 nearly 2 years ago and I’m still here! Ever since I joined I have loved being part of the community and I am now privileged to host two clubs of my own! I have made so many new friends and love chatting each month about the book club picks! I’m also a regular at the monthly virtual romance book club! We have such a giggle!

I’ve been a member of Chapter 25 book club for a couple of years now. I can highly recommend it, it’s a wonderful, welcoming community that brings people together. I look forward to our monthly meet ups, where we discuss the book we’ve read, the host provides us with a list of questions to help prompt our discussion. There are often book related fun quizzes and book swaps so it’s always a fun night. I know at our club some great friendships have been formed and we look forward to seeing each other every month.
The club is managed exceptionally well by a very friendly team, their customer service is excellent.
If you love reading and want to meet some new people, then this is for you.

There should have been alarm bells from the beginning, when realising the subscription service isn't a traditional subscription. There is no direct debit. You give them your bank details and they take a payment every month. I'd imagine this is how they are able to get around trading standards when it comes to subscription services but here's hoping they are punished by the law in the future.

For those who are unaware, once one signs up they added to a WhatsApp group to chat among others prior to each meet up. You can tell when someone's subscription has finally come to an end when they are randomly removed from the group and a new person is added in their replacement. There's nothing specifically wrong with that, but it is unusual.

Regardless, to get out of Chapter25 taking your money you have to email them asking for them to stop taking money. They'll then email you asking for feedback and confirm they won't cancel your membership till you give them feedback.

After submitting feedback and asking a second time to cancel, they'll give you other ways to keep spending money with them, alternative group options etc and then advise they won't cancel your membership until you've replied to them.

This will continue until you threaten them with further action. I'm being very serious here and have the 'receipts' to back it up.

Be prepared to argue via email (because they won't speak on the phone) at a snails pace (they reply every 3 to 4 working days) as they continue to take payments.

Apart from the absolute mess of cancelling, the meet ups are rather lackluster. If you're lucky, the venue will be nice, if you're not, it won't. Any complaints about the venue are ignored. In many ways this goes for members also.

I've witnessed a host having to pick up the tab of members who left and don't pay their bill. These are the same hosts who seem in over their heads with how to manage and maintain large groups of strangers with vastly different reading skills, experiences and preferences.

If you get 'stuck' on a table with people who hated, didn't finish or didn't even read the book, then you're out of luck. It's a wildly varied experience every month, giving a hit or miss feeling for something you're paying for.

There is no quality control, no management, hosts seem left to flounder and the business seems only interested in your reoccurring revenue. There are all kinds of book clubs out there which will be better than what Chapter25 offers.

AVOID. Like others I was miss-sold membership. Do not purchase avoid.

I signed up to Chapter 25 Book Club on 19th September for £9.99 a month, thinking it was a flexible monthly membership.

After missing the first meeting due to illness, I decided the club wasn’t for me and emailed to cancel on 9th October. I was then told I had to continue paying for three months, even though this minimum term wasn’t made clear when I joined.

I’ve since learned that the 3-month commitment is buried in the small print, and cancelling apparently isn’t straightforward. The customer service responses were polite but inflexible.

Just a heads-up for anyone thinking of joining — make sure you’re happy to pay for three months upfront, as it’s not an easy monthly cancel-anytime subscription.

Personally, I wouldn’t join again because the terms weren’t made clear at sign-up.

I subscribed to this bookclub and paid 19.98 in may to attend a local bookclub. They took the payment and sent me list of local clubs, none of which had availability! I emailed chapter 25 and was reminded that I had a 3 month commitment! I asked what I was paying for and the response I received was that I could pay another £4.99 a month for an extra chapter which was an online app. I declined and asked that after the three month contract ended I would like it cancelled. They replied that that was fine and a note had been attached to the diary and it would be cancelled. They have now taken 19.98 in August, September and October. I have sent emails which has not been replied to. I have now raised a dispute with my bank. There is no telephone number for them. Please avoid this company!!!
