As an accidental CTO, I've had to grow really fast and figure out a lot of stuff on my own. Around the time I signed up I was doing a lot of searching for answers to questions like "what the hell does a cto do", "what is an effective cto", "how do I create a technology budget" and seemed to endup on CTO Academy quite a bit. I liked the ebook and the lifetime offer email.
Around that time, I was also going through my receipts and expenses for fiscal year 2018 and realized I'd spent around $300 on Udemy. Most of the Udemy courses weren't all that useful and the useful ones were technical and not really about leading people and doing the job of a technical leader.

I've taken several pages of notes, my focus right now is on trying to prove value as fast as possible.
I like how you and Jason aren't using static slides and reading off of them. That is the most annoying thing about a lot of Udemy courses, and I like how you've tried to stay pretty generic and stay away from specific technologies. That's a big plus compared to sites like PluralSight.
I really like the simple confirmation quizzes at the end.
I like the quality of the lecturers, how they focus away from technologies and instead of personal growth. they focus on how you and Jason aren't using static slides and reading off of them. But bringing in Richard from CTO Academy helped me communicate my achievements in a more quietly confident, matter-of-fact manner and not the previous "screaming from the mountaintop" type of CV.
I appreciated the fact that he did this by probing and interviewing me, not dictating what to write nor making me feel stupid for my previous attempts.
The result was a profile that was accurate and could be backed up by fact but was very much written with my voice

I wanted to learn quickly about some of the tech aspects I wasn’t familiar with but also people skills like how to handle difficult team members. I signed up to CTO Academy and got excellent feedback which I instantly implemented, without spending hours and hours trying to research the same and even then not being totally sure it was the right action.
The quality of the coaching is really good. It is direct advice with no fluff.
At the end of every session we agreed on 2-3 actionable steps and issues I needed to accomplish before being reviewed at the start of the next session
I feel much more empowered now and it's not just about specific advice but more importantly about how to think like a CTO and how to approach challenges.
The coaching confirmed that mindset and beliefs are more important than anything technical when it comes to leadership.
