Unable to get me a prescription after more than 2 weeks of trying and multiple attempts from me and my doctor. They really went downhill after EverNorth acquired them. They seem to have changed customer service reps since the takeover and the new ones seem universally inept. Even the phone AI is incompetent.
Poor business at the expense of the pt
Express scripts does not have the pt as a priority instead it is we will get it done when we get it done. Poor communication -apparently they cannot pick up the phone to call the pt or the MD. I have had to switch from mail order to pharmacy to have meds filled in timely manner

They deny coverage for drugs even they concede are medically necessary. And, this week they denied coverage and told me I had to try something cheaper - then denied that one too!

They refill my prescription before itâs time to get my medication. They sent me an email letting me know that my medication wound be shipped. I tried to cancel the order because I didnât want all the medication sitting around because it was eye drops. They would not cancel the order. When I gave them my prescription they said that I could call and delay the medication if I didnât need it.

These people do not know what they are doing and have no brains operating a business. I got so sick of dealing with Express Scripts incompetence that I tried yesterday to place my prescription business elsewhere, but Express Scripts had erased all my file information! Couldnât have the new pharmacy call Express Scripts and get my prescription information because according to Express Scripts, I did not exist. For the umpteenth time I received myâŠ
For the umpteenth time I received my diabetic needles damaged. These people insist on shipping flimsy paper boxes containing hundreds of needles in an equally flimsy plastic envelope. By the time the USPS delivers it to me the envelope has been through hell and the contents, which are pen needles, are scattered throughout the envelope, the box is crushed and some needles are damaged and can't be used. I complain to Express Scripts repeatedly and ask them to NOT ship these needles in this manner and they sound all concerned and sometimes apologize, just to do it over and over again. I don't know how we have slipped to this level of mediocrity, but saving a few bucks on filling prescriptions like is is tantamount to insanity. I don't wish ill will on anyone, but this has got to stop and get better. I certainly understand why some people get violent towards others, especially when basic needs are not being met, which you are paying for, and then get blown off by incompetent bureaucrats in an organization that only cares about the bottom line. Pathetic. Not worth what we waste on this aspect of healthcare. I never had this problem using a real pharmacy, like the one at the corner of happy and healthy.

Express Scripts employees are not the board members making decisions that harm patients. Fernanda, a customer service representative, is an excellent employee who deserves recognition for her work. She showed what strong customer service looks likeâasking thoughtful questions like, âCan I help with that?â, âWhat do you need?â, âHow about this?â, and âLet me check that for you.â
Fernanda connected me with a pharmacist who clearly explained the prior-authorization process for my medication. She also provided the phone number my prescribing physician needed and, most importantly, she listened.
While front-line employees canât fix corporate-level decisions, the way Fernanda and the pharmacist handled my call made a difficult situation easier and kept it respectful. Thank you, Fernanda, and thank you to the pharmacist for your helpâyou were both awesome.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Express Scripts
Terrible service, terrible communication, terrible coordination with doctors office, not-proactive on behalf of customers who pay their premiums every month.
I have had a prescription for Wegovy for over two years and have successfully filled the prescription with Express Scripts multiple times. Now I have had a prescription tied up in pre-authorization or delivery or communications for over three weeks so I'm out of medication now I'm going to look at another couple of weeks to straighten out the snafu at Express Scripts and then I'm going to have to wait another four or five days to get my Mehdi medication so that'll make it a month late despite calling them and asking them directly to speak with the doctor they refuse to they only take inbound doctor calls and then don't tell a doctor when to call or what they want. So that's about the worst pharmacy I could ever imagine and it's here right now.
Express Scripts for Tricare peopleâŠ
Express Scripts for Tricare people taking generic medications is an absolute joke. First example: I take 2 generic meds for high BP and a generic statin. Combined for all 3 meds(90 day supply) is $9.81 at Walgreens and it is filled in 24 hours. Express Scripts is $13 copay each or $36 and will take 2 weeks to get to me. 2nd example: I was given a new med by my Dr. Express Scripts put a hold and called and said Dr needs to call because there was an issue with the instructions. That already took 3 days to notify me, and calling them just puts you into the voice prompt system that you just have to keep saying ârepresentativeâ until you reach a person. Sent the script to Walgreens. Out of stock the day I sent it to them. They overnighted the meds, filled the next day and I picked it up the that day. For a copay of $4.14. Why Express Scripts needed an explanation but Walgreenâs was able to fill is beyond me. They are just a joke.

Why does this pharmacy continue to delay sending medications? This has happened the last three times. Each time, I call repeatedly to get the medication sent on time. Each time they tell me Iâm free to call my physician to get an âemergencyâ order filled through a retail pharmacy. Why? I am retired military, and I am getting the medication filled through YOUR pharmacy. If you would just fill the medication, there is no need for an âemergencyâ supply. Customer service is a joke. When I called yesterday, the rep was clearly irritated. I told her my concern was that theyâd had my prescription for a week and nothing had moved, and the weekend was coming fast, during which time they do not ship refrigerated medications. She said they ship seven days a week. I asked when it had changed and she said, âNothinâ changed. I been here a minute and thatâs what I always heard.â I asked to speak to a pharmacist and was placed on hold. When she came back, she said the pharmacist could only answer clinical questions but had confirmed medications shipped on weekends. I repeated, âThe pharmacist said they ship on weekends?â She said (clearly irritated), âYep.â She asked if I wanted to speak to a supervisor since I âdidnât believe her.â I told her it had nothing to do with believing or not believing, that I was only trying to get factual information. I asked to please speak with the supervisor. The supervisor was much better. She confirmed they only shipped refrigerated medications Monday through Thursday and she was professional and helpful. My medication is still coming at the very end of my previous supply which makes me a bit nervous. I donât understand why we have to play this game every time. Everything about this pharmacy is inept and I am looking for another one.
Express scripts is criminally bad
I have to fight every month to get my diabetes medication due to Express Scripts idiocy. Every month I spend at least a week without meds jeopardizing my health because of these clowns. Why Blue Cross/Blue Shield contracted them is beyond me. I'm looking in to filing a complaint with my state AG and encourage others to do so as well.
No humans to talk to
I call the main help number that was on my app and no matter what I did or how many times I said "representative" it just took me on circles and would not let me talk to a live person. Not recommended to call if you already have high blood pressure because mine was through the roof by the time I gave up and hung up. What a terrible company.
Don't let them charge your credit card
Don't let them charge your credit card. They charge whatever they think they can get away with. Absolutely no adherence to the quote when you order. I was quoted $112.00 and charged $301.42 and they are refusing to give it back after hours on the phone with them.
Totally unreliable
I stopped using Express Scripts last year when they failed to fill a prescription on a timely basis. I decided to give them a second chance last week and sent in a new prescription. I was given an estimated delivery date of 8 days after the date of the order. On the day before I was to receive the prescription, Express Scripts informed me that they needed another 8 business days. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will never use Express Scripts again.
Misleading marketing practices
Express Scripts left me a voicemail today saying they had important questions for me and to please call back. When I called, it was an automated customer satisfaction survey to find out why I had recently filled an Rx through a local retail pharmacy vs through Express Scripts. Well this is why--my local pharmacy doesn't mislead me and waste my time with unnecessary phone calls!

I canât wait until all my refills are all done. I get a 90 day supply. It use to be an automatic refill, since Evernorth EnGuide Pharmacy took over filling this particular medication thereâs no more automatic refills. Prior each time Iâd phone in my prescription these incompetent reps gives me a difficult time. Always telling me I have 0 refills knowing good and well my doctor submitted numerous prescriptions with 3-4 refills. Those extra prescriptions was submitted on behalf and stupidity of them not knowing what the heck theyâre talking about when requesting my doctor to submit them, then Iâm sitting with many on file which my doctor did not need to send any. After speaking with their supervisor which I seem to always do. The supervisor finds all these unnecessary prescriptions Express Scripts reps claims they needed, a crock of bull, supervisor apologies and gets my medication submitted through after verifying itâs in stockâŠI am past due and a week ago the so called advocate stated she has it down to be filled 11/28/2025. Time pass with no text indicating itâs being shipped, I called tonite to find out where is it? Was told no order was placed, here we go again, rep tells me I have 0 refills. I gotten very heated and told her Iâm looking at my refills and I have 2 left and another on file. Puts me on hold to check with the pharmacist about stock, comes back to inform me there not in until 5:00am and I need to call back. So how in the heck this rep wasnât aware of their working hours, playing with patients intelligence once again. One reason I refused to allow any of my medications filled by ES, only the one and after my refills has been exceeded Iâm kissing them goodbye for good. Itâs a disgrace how ill sick patients has to fight to get their medications. The more ones complain it does absolutely nothing.

Express Scripts is truly amazing. It was very reasonable prices, fast delivery, and I was able to switch between different shipping addresses. Their customer service representatives are also very helpful. Highly recommend!
