Really not the best e-bike
I have had two Gocycles for 4 years and am not very enthusiastic. Apart from the fact that screws rust (inferior material), even though the two bikes have never been in the rain (located in the south of France), starting them always takes a lot of time because the software is complicated. Perhaps young computer freaks will enjoy it more. In any case, I regret the purchase and prefer to switch to other e-bikes.

Extremely poor customer service
Extremely poor customer service, no direct phone number to speak to someone to know what is being done to your bike.
Bike took 5 weeks to be repaired and GoCycle did not replace my battery under a 2 year warranty.
Should you buy a GoCycle - absolutely not.
Would I buy another one - absolutely not.
Am I selling my GoCycle on eBay - absolutely yes.

If you need after-purchase Customer Service - BEWARE!
After months of owning the bike and ordering two additional items, I can say Customer Service is worse. I was sent the rear rack but the cover for the light cable, screw to secure the seat post, and reflector light were not included. It has been a week since I sent a message about the problem and no one has replied.
Add to this what many other people are saying about the app being replaced by a barely functioning version. I need to analyze battery usage for an upcoming multi-day trip but can't with the new app.

I rate the design quality of the bike at 7 as it is beyond anything I imagined being available. It is a wonder. But the assembly and post-purchase customer service is weak to non-existent. Out of the box my bike needed adjustments. I was told the only option for me was to return the bike to GoCycle or take it to a “Service Partner” (SP). The front brakes needed to be bled. The closest SP is five hours away. So unless you live next to an SP don't buy the bike. My main concern and the question I asked but did not get a reply to is "WHY WAS THE BIKE SENT TO ME NEEDING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM?"
After about 3 weeks (2 stars):
I’m dropping my rating due to the quality of service and communication I’ve received since receiving my GoCycle G4i+. I want to be clear that the bike itself is an extraordinary ride. I just wish there was decent customer service to those who don’t live next door to an SP. Many emails back and forth over several days were frustrating. I was never given a phone number to have a conversation. I think a ten-minute phone call could have been more effective as the communication via email was not always comprehensive or clear. Apparently, there is a number for US and UK but not mainland Europe.
Once I had free days, I traveled five hours (each way) to the closest SP. Once there I was told that the back brake lever was damaged and could not be bled. Important to this is that I purchased what I suspect was either a floor model or returned bike at a discount. I have no idea if the bike was damaged in transport or not given a final inspection prior to being shipped to me.
Not having a phone number, I sent an email. The following day the reply was that GoCycle would “collect” the bike from the ASC. So I returned to the SP and told them I’d leave it with them and they asked what they were supposed to do. Apparently GoCycle had not communicated with them. All GoCycle had told me is that they would collect the bike. I requested an update from GoCycle, paid the 55€ for the examination done by the ACS, and left my bike.
Update after 4 weeks (1 star):
I am dropping the stars because on Tuesday of last week I was told the bike would be collected from the SP where I had left it. I had asked when the bike would be collected and an estimated time that I'd get it back. Today I got a message saying that GoCycle has arranged to collect the bike. I assume this means they haven't even picked the bike up but like other communication from GoCycle the details are missing. It may mean they had not communicated with the bike shop either. My cost is approaching €6.000 and the customer service I've experienced is horrible – the result is that I’ve never had a fully functional bike. At this moment I have no idea when I will have one, a week? a month?
Update after almost 6 weeks:
I wish I could give zero stars for the customer service department as they have terrible at communication skills. The few days I had the bicycle I loved it and look forward to having it back soon. I will give some additional information on my G4i once I have it more time. Why zero stars: I had to return the bike to GoCycle on 19 February. It will be tomorrow, 14 March, that I hope to get the bike back. I had it sent to a bike shop in Barcelona so they can inspect it as I don't trust GoCycle to have repaired the brake lever that was damaged in a prior shipment. I was told I could track the shipment but the link to the shipment always said, "In Process" and to try later. So for several days I did that. After almost a week I sent an email asking about the status but it took a day to get a reply. So I called the bike shop and they said, oh yes, we've got your bike." So I assume GoCycle failed to properly close my repair order and link the tracking number.
Update after 7 weeks:
Again! my GoCycle G4i+ was delivered to the SP in Barcelona who told me the front brake needed to be bled. This is the problem I've consistently had with the bike when it had been sent from GoCycle. There is no indication of leakage in the box so my only conclusion is that GoCylce doesn’t check fluid levels in the brakes prior to shipping. I had reached out to management and included them on the email about this problem.
AGAIN – don’t buy a GoCycle unless you live near a Service Partner and even then, don’t expect clear or prompt communication from GoCycle when you need it.

I recently bought an ex-demo bike. I was unsure of which one to buy so I reached out to their customer service for help. I was helped very fast and very professional and received my bike 2 days after the order!
Love the bike and really appreciate the fast and competent service I got from the help center.

Safety issue on G4
Have reported issues with my Gocycle and returned the bike direct to Gocycle. Bike comes to sudden stop while cycling even while charged. Customer support are responsive and polite but won't resolve the issue and just want to send the bike back to me. Even sent videos showing the issue. Nearly 4k wasted as bike not functioning and under warranty. Be careful if buying one
UPDATE: RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LEADER REFERRED TO BELOW NOTING THAT THE BIKE IS MECHANICALLY SOUND DESPITE EMAILS FROM THE TEAM CONFIRMING THEY FOUND BATTERY ISSUES. HIS OFFER WAS TO SEND THE BROKEN BIKE BACK TO ME AND NOT CHARGE ME FOR SHIPPING. I ASKED FOR A PHONE CALL TO DISCUSS AND HE HASNT REPLIED TO ANY EMAIL OR PHONED. CLEARLY GOCYCLE DONT TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY. LOOK AT THE OLD NEGATIVE REVIEWS- ALL REPORTING SIMILAR ISSUES. STAY CLEAR

Wirklich guter und kompetenter Kundenservice!! Auch setzte sich dieser mit dem stationären Händler auseinander und klärte verschiedene Problematiken. Man fühlte sich sehr gut aufgehoben und die Probleme wurden alle gelöst. Ich kann aber nur dringend davon abraten das Fahrrad beim stationären Händler in Fulda zu kaufen.

Service plan mysteriously disappeared
I've been a proud GoCycle owner for a year now, enjoying the sleek design and convenience it brings to my daily commute. However, I must express my disappointment with recent changes.
Without any prior notice, GoCycle decided to discontinue the servicing plan, leaving me feeling a bit puzzled. Transparency is crucial in maintaining trust, and the sudden removal of a service without warning felt quite unexpected. I hope GoCycle takes customer communication more seriously moving forward.
Overall, I still appreciate the quality of the product, but the handling of the servicing plan leaves room for improvement. Three stars for now.
