Excited but let down by service at bike dealership.

Brilliant bike and chuffed with my purchase. However, received the bike on 4th November from Fully Charged and returned it today due to hydraulic brake fluid leak on my rear brake. Also, received it with a scuff on rear- not ideal. Hoping to get it back fully repaired. Fully Charged should have checked these defects more thoroughly considering I made a £4000 purchase which included accessories. I feel I should be reimbursed for the inconvenience as the bike was purchased for my commute from Bromley to South Kensington. No consideration for this unforeseen circumstance leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

Fantastic product

Fantastic product, there are no adequate words to describe the overall quality. It is comfortable, fast and very light,
I have added rear view mirrors and a noisy bell.
In the first 4 days it has taken me over 100 km within the city

Purchased a demonstrator bike for a…

Purchased a demonstrator bike for a slight reduction but nevertheless a very expensive item.
Crankshaft pedals slip constantly, stand fell off when I got it out of the car for the first time. Front light very loose, bell not working.
Not possible to ride this bicycle.
Disappointed to say the very least.

Thank you for your feedback, as you can imagine we are disappointed to learn that you have had issues with your Gocycle. Having checked our records we understand that you have been dealing with Surge Bikes, Basingstoke who have independently raised the issue with us directly.

It appears as though Emily from our Customer Support team has initiated contact with you this morning to arrange the collection of your Gocycle for it to be returned to our in-house workshop to have the repairs carried out.

We will keep you posted with the progress of the repair throughout each stage and confirm once it is on it's way back to you. Rest assured, due to the age and usage your Gocycle is under warranty which will cover the repairs you have raised.

Emily will have explained the next steps and we will aim to have your Gocycle repaired and back to you as soon as possible. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us via email quoting reference number 69137.

Kindness counts, but some problems getting stuff done

What made it a 4 instead of a 3 is that everyone I spoke with was kind, but the bike arrived damaged (I assume damaged in shipment), and it had to go back to the warehouse for repair. It took much longer than I think it should have to get it there, get it fixed, and get it back. And I was told that in addition to the promised repair, they would add in a new on/off switch, but I don't think they did that, SO in terms of actual service start to finish from both the manufacturer and the bike shop who received the bike and assembled it for me, I'd give it a 75/C+. In terms of courtesy and kindness, I'd give 5 starts, hence the 4 star rating.

An incredible piece of engineering and design

The GoCycle bicycle is an incredible piece of engineering - every detail is perfectly constructed and designed - but always according to the law "form follows function", still it is so aesthetic that even in Germany :-) people stop in the street and start asking questions. And it's really lightweight which is important for us in the motorhome.

Brakes broke in first week

The rear brakes stopped working one week into use.

Not easy to contact them, no direct phone service.

I had ordered mudguards that the bike already had and they Made it difficult to get a product return or exchange. As a result I ended up with products I don’t need.

Based on our records you were in contact with our colleague Sven who advised on how to organise a return via the ‘Cycle Scheme’, however if you are continuing to experience difficulty with arranging this, please do not hesitate to recontact Sven referencing ticket #68476 and he will be more than happy to help you.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to speak with him on the phone, please respond to the ticket with your contact number and most suitable time to reach you.

We will always endeavour to proactively help our customers and take ownership of their request, however there can be some scenarios where customers may need engage with a different entity, dependent on how the bike was purchased. In these situations, we will do our best to signpost clearly and advise the process thoroughly.

We appreciate your feedback and acknowledge your comments regarding a direct phone line. As we continuously review ways to further enhance our customer experience, the implementation of a direct line to our Customer Support team is a key initiative which we hope to introduce in the near future.

Incomparable

We purchased two G4i's and are very impressed with all aspects of the bike, design, materials and construction. While expensive, there is nothing comparable, at any price. When riding recently, four cyclists stopped to ask about the bikes and compliment the design. It wasn't until a few minutes into the conversation that I mentioned they were electric assist -- and they were all surprised! Try that with any other brand.

Purchased the G4

Purchased the G4, was very excited. But it lasted for few hours.

While peddling, the gear jumps (looses tension rapidly) without me chaining the gear.

I do change the gear appropriately but still it jumps and I fell off the bike because I lost balance. Luckily there was no cars around and I hit the light pole.

I contacted the customer service but the service is very poor. We can't replace the bike because it is more than a month (thank you for answering my call when I tried the first month). Now they are trying to arrange warranty repair - the whole process is such a drag. No empathy or compensation for the accident or bike being useless since I purchased it.

I was even happy to replace with G4i, and pay extra as I think the gears are doggy and I don't want to fall off the bike again. But they would not allow for it.

Update - 7 November 2023
Received bike finally, the rear brake seems to be not working - this was not a issue before.
transportation seems to have hammered the bike as it seems fiddly, small parts from bike are missing and noticeable starches.
No compensation offered for accident mentioned earlier and the latest issues!

I've had my Go Cycle for 18 months

I've had my Go Cycle for 18 months, having test rode several foldable electrics decided to stump up the extra ££ for this make. Worth every penny. Its so well designed and well built. Just wish it was a bit lighter, and had more mileage in the battery, but it has transformed my commute. Would recommend it (and have!) to others.

I did the trade in program to save 20%

I did the trade in program to save 20%. I traded in two G2's. The overall process was very long and the communications were slow with Gocycle. At one point I did not receive any response for multiple days. It was also slow getting the 20% "coupons" to order the new ones. Even that I don't think was correct as the bikes were on sale for 10% off and Gocycle just took 10% off of that price. That does not equal 20% off the original price. The bikes did ship fast. When they arrived, they were in two different kinds of boxes (one beat up and ripped). The bikes looked OK. One had an accessory bag one used a bubble bag. When I asked I really didn't get any information other than they are from different years. Why did I receive a 2022 and a 2023 model??? lastly I was able to BT connect one bike no problem but had a terrible time trying to connect the other. I could not get any real help to this even though I wrote numerous times and opened up another case. Miraculously, on a subsequent try, it connected to my phone and I was able to update the firmware. I now would like to know how to move this to my wifes phone as this is her bike.
Overall the communications were slow at best, what I received doesn't match my expectations for the quality and price of these bikes (the boxes and accessory packout) and I don't feel I really got the full discount. We will take the bikes out this weekend and hope everything goes as planned.
