Long tedious checks, full of irrelevant questions.
Instead, they should have focused in the basics: a) Do you have enough money to pay the rent? b) Do you have your visa/citizenship/permanent status/etc?
And by the end of the process they also used the occasion to try to sell you insurance by trying to trick you into thinking it's mandatory or you wouldn't get the rent, or something. Predating on the vulnerable.

Living in Australia, I find dealing with organisations can sometimes be difficult and, on occasions, stressful due to time differences and distances. Choosing Insurance is always an anxiety producing experience, however, it was made easier by the staff I spoke to. Rachel Harvey was friendly, patient and helpful. There were a lot of questions and repetition but she remained cheerful and polite. It is good these days to deal with someone who sounds interested and seems to enjoy what she is doing.
