Sadly the whole experience has gone down hill in a short space of time, it’s such a shame. I took a friend for afternoon tea at the John Lewis’ Oxford Street branch, having visited there before and been impressed.
Sadly yesterday the service and standard was way below average. After sitting down for a while we were ignored until I went to the till to make enquiries about my reservation.
Sandwiches had obviously been pre made and left out for a some time so tasted stale, I ended up leaving the hard edges of the bread and also some of the sandwiches. I would have thought it was not too difficult to keep sandwiches fresh.
Quantity of cakes were much less than previously and when we asked for another pot of tea, we were told two weeks ago the rules had changed so there were no refills.
The two scones provided tasted fresh and went down well.
Fortunately it was a Groupon offer so I didn’t pay the full amount £60. I didn’t want to make a fuss so left disappointed and a bit embarrassed that it was supposed to have been a nice treat for my friend, I’m really not sure what’s gone wrong with this little place it has so much potential.

Online order for a delivery as a gift worked really well.

We visited Huffkins in John Lewis on Oxford Street, London on Friday 21st February for an afternoon tea with Prosecco…. We had a superb time, the coffee/tea were fabulous and the sandwiches and cakes were excellent.. we could not eat it all and the staff supplied a box in order to take the remainder home. The staff were also friendly and very attentive. Thank you… Would definitely visit again… highly recommended.

Pretty terrible. Dry, overbaked, flavourless and generally disappointing.

A blind person who has never cooked and with no scales could make a better scone/tea cake/brownie.

Gift card arrived but unfortunately it contained a spelling mistake but when I raised it they corrected it by return. It is for a gift so I can't comment on the cakes but have heard they are delicious!!

I reply to a previous review. We have twice been given gift vouchers and, in our experience, two different tea shops were incapable of dealing with them. They had to contact HQ on both occasions and, indeed, the second time accidentally put an extra £10 on the card.

So disappointing the Stratford upon Avon store do not accept cash as payment. Went with my family for a light lunch and walked out after being told they won’t accept my payment method.

Ordered house blend teabags which are very refreshing too drink. Problem with DPD courier who lied about first attempt to deliver to locker which was empty and then delivered parcel to different locker two days later but did not advise me of the locker code and I had to make several phone calls to customer service. DPD very unprofessional and I paid £6.95 postage. Huffkins did assist with my order and were helpful.

I ordered a gift card online. The online system is easy to use and the gift card arrived very quickly, in a lovely card complete with a hand written note for the recipient. Excellent service and mum can't wait to come and use her voucher!

I ordered a gift card to go with a treasure trail experience in Burford. An added treat for an impossible to buy for male's christmas present. Free postage and the gift card arrived the next day! Thank you Huffkins for great service, fingers crossed they like it!

We were in Witney seeing a friend. They recommend Huffkins as the place to go. We were for one Afternoon Tea and one Cream Tea. We arrived at 3.30pm and sat down and waited but were not seen to by anyone despite signalling both the waitress and the man behind the counter ?
Eventually I went up to the counter to ask what was going on. I was told that as it was now 3.45pm an Afternoon Tea was out of the question as they stopped making sandwiches at lunchtime ? The man said he whorled check with the kitchen if a Cream Tea would be possible at this time as they stopped making establishment was closing at 4pm. When he came back he said it would be possible if we hurried. The Afternoon Tea was some £23 and the Cream Tea some £10 . I thought the lack of service for what would have been a £30 tea was well below my expectations of Huffkins. The staff were uninterested. There were several tables uncleared when we arrived at 3.30pm that we still awaiting clearing at 3.50pm when we left. We decided we didn’t want to hurry the offered Cream Tea and went up the high street and had a relaxing Cream Tea in a different establishment that was very nice even though they didn’t offer Afternoon Tea.
Would not recommend Huffkins in Witney

Arrived in excellent condition so fresh, packaging was very good, tasted delicious.
