first off, a young inexperienced loan officer named Mason, misquoted me by several hundred dollars on the appraisal, saying our loan was solid, so I agreed to order appraisal..and then saw it was $700...not $500, and after all that, we get denied. He promised the moon but cant deliver squat. Underwriters also are not very knowledgeable there in Ohio...kept asking for forms that were right in front of them...DO NOT RECOMMEND...at least, don't use this guy

Illegal procedures and unhelpful service
Have now called 4 separate times and filed a CFPB complaint. Lower sold my mortgage to a company called ServiceMac, ServiceMac sold it back to them, they cancelled my autopay during the sale, and at NO POINT did I receive communications from either company.
Per my phone calls they confirmed that ServiceMac gave them THE WRONG ADDRESS, meaning I didn't receive the LEGALLY REQUIRED update to the ownership of my loan. They never called me except by auto-dialer and thus never left a message and came up at spam, they never emailed me, they certainly never confirmed my address since they address they were mailing to doesn't exist. They did not send the letters certified mail or I would have had to sign for them. They cannot prove they sent me notice via any means.
As a result of the loan ownership change, lack of notice, and cancelation of my autopay (which worked without fail for 5 YEARS) they reported a late payment to the credit bureaus, plummeting my score and marring my lifelong on-time payment history. I called them to confirm why I saw that report, which is the first time i found out my loan had been resold and my auto-pay canceled. I settled the balance and was told that the late payment wouldn't be reported to the bureaus. They fix my address in their system and I start receiving mail from them regarding my case.
Cue a month later, the late payment has been reported to all bureaus. I call Lower again, express the same concern that they illegally did not mail me notice of the transfer of my loan, and was told they would dispute the credit report on my behalf. Shortly thereafter I receive a letter saying they won't be disputing or correcting my credit report and refuse to make that goodwill correction.
I call them again about the letter, they once again tell me they'll dispute it and not to worry. I call them today and they tell me there are no notes regarding the dispute. I reiterate that they had an incorrect address from the previous lender and they were negligent and didn't do any kind of due diligence to give me legally required notice. They agree that they did not email me statements or any warning of late payments, that they did not text me, that they did not require a signature to confirm notice of the transfer, and that any call was a spam-call auto-dialer that would not have left a voice mail and that it's typical for their calls to be auto-blocked by phones. They flat out refuse to consider a good will removal of the late payment report.
I've reported them to the CFPB and documented the incorrect address on file. I'll be doing the same with ServiceMac.
