Five Stans: Crossing five borders, transitioning to different climates from deserts to lakes to mountains to snow, experiencing five different political responses to the breakup of the Soviet Union, savoring varied cuisines and paying extra to include horse sausage whenever possible, hanging out with a bunch of people I would later be happy to call my friends, and using multiple modes of travel to go well over 1,500 miles. Through it all, Lupine tour leader Paris Hailwood made the Five Stans an unforgettable adventure.

Behind the scenes, I know that Paris quietly worked like crazy to ensure that everything would be seamless for us. With her boundless energy and optimism, along with her in-depth knowledgeable and patient guidance, Paris made the trip super amazing.

I would follow Paris anywhere. Just get me my passport, an iPhone charger, a flight with an aisle seat, and I will be there!

I've just paid for my trip to Chad in October. I'm really excited! I know it will be unforgettable. Lupine are tremendously professional and thorough - and so are the guides they employ. Lucky for me, Paris Hailwood is leading the Chad tour. I've travelled under her stewardship before in places like Mali, Burkina Faso and Mauritania - and she's been brilliant! Can't wait for October and Chad!

I have done multiple trips with Lupine and have more trips coming up in the next months… it’s always a pleasure to travel with Lupine. The trips are super well organized and the experiences are amazing. The itinerary is well thought out … the local teams are amazing and show us a great time. More importantly, the tour leaders are very seasoned and make sure everything is super well planned and organized… special mention to Robert and Paris for their amazing work during my recent trips. The back office team is very responsive and overall the entire team is amazing.

The tour was really great. Lupine was amazing in their pre-trip support, including help with the e-visa process. The hotels were very good and the sites were simply fantastic - we were often the only ones there! There were several special touches, including a "second breakfast" as we toured Ghadamis. The few "negatives" were that it was hot to go in June (which we knew before we went) and the 10-hour bus ride to Ghadamis (again, we knew this). The reason for a four-star review was that the local guides to the Roman sites did not speak English very well, resulting in poor communication of information about the sites. I had my guidebook to Libya with me, so I was able to read up on what I was seeing. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in the sites of Libya, and I look forward to another trip with Lupine in the future.

I have just returned from a very special trip to Afghanistan. A tour curated for women only. It was one of the very best I have ever been on. Paris was our Tour Leader and she was fantastic. She led this group with great sensitivity and has the ability to make everyone fully included. She is very special with such intensive knowledge and understanding of the complexities of this kind of travel. It’s a cliche - but she made this a true trip of a lifetime. Thank you to Lupine and Paris for this fantastic opportunity.

They are simply the best for out of the radar destinations, their guides are very knowledgeable and Paris is the best guide I have ever had!

I went on the Afghanistan Women-only trip and it was an incredible experience to say the least. I’ve traveled with Lupine before and they always make everything run smoothly but this trip was much more special. Paris was an AMAZING tour leader. Funny, smart, approachable and deeply knowledgable of how Afghanistan really works. I honestly can’t think of anyone better to run such a complex and sensitive journey like this. She always made sure to make everyone feel comfortable and constantly adapted to the needs and preferences of everyone and would always have the attention of sending snacks to our rooms. Beyond logistics, she created a space where everyone felt included, safe, and seen.
What could have been just a meaningful trip turned into a legendary experience. The kind that stays with you forever.

Ive just returned from my Lupine Iran trip and what a great trip it was. This was my 3rd trip with Lupine and all 3 have been excellent. And all very well organised from start to finish. The information given beforehand was clear and concise, and everything was done proffesionally. This is a great company to travel with and my Iran trip will be one to be cherished forever. The great organisation and excellent guides made this trip very memorable.

Iran is an amazing country to visit for the past and present.
The birth of civilization starts here with Mesopotamia thousands of years ago.
The people are incredibly nice to talk to. The country is so clean.
The guides Yves from Lupine and the local guide Niloo are both very experienced guides. Yves produces great videos and Niloo along with a smile, fun and interesting tidbits provides the right amount of new and old culture
There are some aspects of what is happening in Iran that I do not agree with but many parts of the world are in turmoil and Iran should be seen for the beautiful experiences that you will encounter.

Recently travelled to Socotra with Lupine, what a fantastic experience. Well organised, great friendly group, local drivers, guide and cooks were excellent an itinerary that hit all the highlights. Fabulous destination, thanks Lupine for another banger

Riding the iron ore train was a unique and fun adventure

A great intro to a relatively new country. East Timor offers a lot for such a small place. Dili is pretty modern while you get to experience more rural and beautiful locations as well. Great guides etc and warm friendly people to boot

Very well organized tour to amazing places. Our team leader consistently went above and beyond.

• We have just returned from the 5 'Stans tour. It is the first tour that we have done with Lupine and we have been impressed with the communication, attention to detail, organisation and entire booking process
• Yves our tour leader was brilliant and he did a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure that we were comfortable and looked after. He went above and beyond – one of the best tour leaders that I have experienced. He is an incredible asset and ambassador to Lupine, and because of him, I know that one member of our tour group actually booked more trips with Lupine while we were in the middle of our tour. Yves is an incredible mix of Stephen Spielberg, Mr Miyagi and Yoda all rolled into one 
• We will definitely travel with Lupine again and without hesitation

The Jemen trip was well organized. The tour guide from Lupine and the local guide were good. Good hotels with good food. Interesting sightseeing. It was very hot during our week, but luckely we had aircondition in the cars and in the hotels.
