I will never purchase from this company…

I will never purchase from this company ever again. I returned an item for a size swap last month, they received it 2 weeks ago. I didn’t even try them on and I could see they were too small, but that is ok, it happens. On the 28th of October I received confirmation of my replacement item but that was 2 weeks ago. No tracking, nothings been sent and communication has been very slow. I have now changed my request to a refund and they are taking an extra €5 fee. After the hassle of returning the item. I honestly didn’t expect this. I always buy from high end equestrian brands and customer service is always excellent. This was first purchase from Maximilian and I was excited to try a new brand but it’s going exactly the way of these other 1* reviews. Avoid like the plague would be my advice 😩
Edited- unbelievably… I requested a refund after waiting weeks. They accepted my refund request, said they would take €5 and then sent the breeches! Which I no longer want. Subsequent emails ignored. No refund. No communication.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Unfortunately, we believe your comment lacks crucial context that can help other customers understand this situation better.

Your exchange request was filed normally, and the return package shipped by you on 30/10. It was received at our premises on 04/11, after which it has been waiting to be processed and reviewed by our team. This is a necessary process for all packages, as items have to be manually and carefully checked for compliance with our return policy before they can be approved - as we explain on our website, this process can take up to 14 business days since reception of the package. Please bear in mind that this information is publicly available, and can be consulted at any point before or after purchase in order for customers to make informed choices. with this, the current timeline of your operation falls well within the expected dates and we can confirm there has been no delays.

As for communication and customer service, please understand that your first email arrived on 07/11, a Friday evening after business hours. You then sent several additional messages over the weekend, and the next Monday was a bank holiday in Spain - our team could only see them and reply as soon as possible on the next business day, which was Tuesday 11/11. We explained the situation and offered to change your exchange to a return no problem, showing flexibility to accommodate the customer's requests. Given that the operation otherwise fell within the normal conditions for a return, it was explicitly stated that the usual 5€ return fee for your area would have to be deducted from the expected refund - you confirmed this change, and we can confirm that your package will be processed as a refund when it is reviewed. Again, our flat return rates are also publicly available on our website and can be consulted at any time.

You are, of course, welcome to share your opinion, and we are sorry to hear that you do not consider this a proper response and solution to your presented issue; but with this additional information in mind, please understand why we do not see this review as a fair assessment of the situation.

Great products, extremely disappointing customer service

genuinely wanted to love Max Equestrian. Their clothing is high quality, stylish, and fits beautifully—which is why I’ve placed multiple orders, each totaling $500–$700. When you’re paying $250+ for a pair of breeches, you expect premium service to match the premium pricing.

Unfortunately, the customer service is consistently frustrating. They offer coupon codes as an incentive for future orders, yet make it unnecessarily difficult to use them. The process is unclear, restrictive, and feels like a tactic rather than a true customer benefit.

For a brand positioned at a luxury price point, the standards should be much higher. It’s disappointing—and frankly sad—to see such a disconnect between the quality of the clothing and the lack of care in customer experience. Great products alone are not enough to build loyalty. At this price level, customers deserve transparency, ease, and respect—not obstacles.

I hope the company takes this feedback seriously, because many of us are willing to invest in quality—but not at the expense of being treated poorly as customers.

As for customer service, we are sorry that this has been your experience, but we fear this is not a fair assessment of the situation. Please bear in mind that multiple return extensions were made as an exception in your particular case, as well as allowing an exchange cancellation outside of any kind of return window, and still offered a full refund of the item in question in the form of a voucher, so you did not lose any amount in the process. We believe our team has been very accommodating of your particular needs, offering flexibility and options to grant all your requests, after which you have still chosen to write this review.

With all this in mind, please understand why we do not see a justification for the low valuation. We understand the process has felt long, and we apologize for any inconvenience along he way. From our side, the team has been responding as quickly as possible and even making exceptions outside our usual protocol to help. We are sad to hear you consider this to be poor treatment of customers, but please bear in mind that we have done all we could to resolve this situation in a satisfying manner.

My order has not been delivered after…

My order has not been delivered after more then a month now. The customer service keeps sending me the tracking number which is from a chinese website and states I should have received my parcel. They advise me to check with my local post office but it does not state which of the hundreds of local post offices was used to deliver my package so this is impossible. I think this is a scam website so I advise not to order from here.

Given the information provided in your message and previous reports, we believe your purchase was not made on our official website, but on a fake website that uses our brand name and pictures to advertise. They offer very aggressive discounts on all our catalogue, but are in no way affiliated with our brand and we are afraid they may be scammers. Our team is already working on deleting both the websites and their advertisements.

Since you have already made a purchase, our recommendation in this case is that you reach out to your bank to check if they can cancel the transaction on the basis of fraud. We unfortunately cannot assist further, we are very sorry.

Sizing is off but nice quality

I am very annoyed to be charged 11euro of return fees when the website’s sizing guide is clearly inaccurate and their breeches sizing is really off. I wish I read the bad reviews here before ordering because many people seem to agree.

The description stated that my breeches “size as usual” and advised to take one’s regular size. For reference, I normally wear EU 32 or 34, which corresponds to XXS in most brands, as I am only 48kg for 1m69. Yet, I had to return both the XXS and the XS! The XS is listed as a 34–36, and I have never even worn 36 in my life, as it is always far too large for me.

It's a shame because the quality seemed nice, customer service answers fast and I received my items quite fast too. But it's been a month I am trying to get those breeches and now they are out of stock in my size.

So I probably will not order again due to this huge sizing issue and return policy unfortunately,

The size charts on each product listing are there as a guide to help customers choose, but unfortunately cannot account for each individual's particular proportions and guarantee a perfect fit every time. We understand that customers may need further assistance or clarification with sizing, which is why our team is always open to offering more personalized recommendations based on body measurements - this helps us get a better idea of a customer's proportions, so we can give advice based on our general experience with each particular model.

You won't be sorry going with Maximilian breeches!

This company is fantastic! Their customer service is as amazing as the breeches they produce. I've been riding my entire life and NEVER have Ive been as comfortable in breeches by Maximilian. Their denim leggings are especially legendary; where have you been all my life??
