Ocean all at sea
Have just returned from an appointment for MOT and Service Ocean Mini Plymouth.The organisation was utterly shambolic just as bad as last year.The service advisors don’t listen,do not do joined up thinking and lack coordination.The only conclusion is that this place is badly led and managed and when managers hide away in their offices you know it’s going to be a disaster.We absolutely love our Mini but will never return here.
Service plan a complete waste of money
Service plan a complete waste of money. Took Mini Countryman Stratford upon Avon in for service not enough miles done. Was told I wouldn't have time under warranty to get service as I could not reach milage needed in time & anyway Mini were dropping any new service plans as the weren't cost effective! So started using car everyday to add milage and by the time I managed to get booked in it was over the service milage and out of warranty ! disgusted with dealership treatment & was considering a new electric version. Not now plenty of more deserving companies that dont treat customer with contempt. Feel very angry and would never buy from any Mini dealership again. Should have seen the signs when I first bought car to be told on enquiry they closed in 30 mins and it would take longer than the to process. Fair enough just say on entry not after waiting to be seen without so much as a drink offered (pre Covid)
Mini Assist - shambolic hand-offs
Bought 69 plate mini with 300 miles on clock. Yesterday making clanging noises. Call dealer, three forwarded calls later was told mini assist would recover the car. Next call mini assist won’t recover the car, they will send a technician to look at it. He concludes they need to recover the car and he will organise same day. So next day when I call (naturally forwarded to someone else) I am advised that the engineer requested I drive to the dealership. I Informed them that not being able to drive the car due to metal on metal clanging was why I called them. They agreed to send a recovery truck. The chap arrived, had a look at the car and said “ you want to take that to the mini centre”. They have now taken the car, but the promised follow up call from mini to confirm next steps has not been received. Shambolic hand-offs
Back Street Garage Service for 5 star prices.Mini Worcester…
Our Mini was taken to Mini Worcester where a faulty starter motor was recommended. It took 3 weeks with no one responding to our calls to get this problem resolved. To make things worse one the one occasion we did get to speak to someone, we were told a pack of lies.
No more Minis in this house.

Bad points - when you buy on finance, you pay excessive amounts for any little thing you need help with. E.g. if you want your car washing? Over £100. Want to turn child lock on charged £16 rather than just shown how to do it. Quit while you’re ahead and don’t bother. Buy from auto trader or elsewhere
MINI UK refusal to extend TLC cover due to Covid-19
Took the car into the garage for its (delayed due to lockdown) MOT yesterday. Was told it needed a brake fluid service, at extra cost. I explained that the MOT should have been carried out last month, while my 5 year MINI TLC was still active, which would have included this. But of course this wasn't possible due to the current situation. However, MINI UK said that the booking should have been made by the end of June for them to honour this. I told them that I only received the email from MINI UK on 9th July allowing me to book my car in! They would not relent and so charged me for this service. Really disappointed with their intransigence on this matter. For the sake of £50 odd pounds they have now lost a customer for life. Shame, as other than this episode, this is the best car I have ever owned.....regardless of cost.

Service plan problems again like many complaints on here . Mini uk will not honour the last major service as time has expired due to covid 19 shielding and the dealership garage being closed . They wouldn’t do the service a month earlier before lockdown as miles and time were not met . This service pack is bought and paid for and yet they won’t budge ... deplorable company with terrible customer service... never buy another mini they’ve lost a valued customer for the sake of £358

I got my Mini from the Cooper Reading dealership, lovely team, passionate and actually give a damn despite the crap systems in place for holding customer information. The amount of times their system as flipped my details with my Mum's - because we share the same last name and both own a Mini?
The financial team on the other hand are absolutely god awful. There's truly no one with any information or anyone with the will to actually solve a problem that isn't already highlighted in their FAQ boxes.
I've been trying to notify them about my end of contract. I have yet to be contacted by anyone at Mini Finance about it, and this has been going on for over a month! I can't get through to them. I'm put on hold for a good hour, then I'm put on hold for another hour.
I finally got through, told them that I did not receive the paperwork I previously phoned in for, and the git hung up on me! What a pathetic excuse for a financial team.
I totally understand there's an ongoing pandemic, everyone is working from home, we're all doing our best and I've been patient and friendly for as long as I can, but with my credit file now at risk because of the negligence and incapability of this firm, I'm about to raise hell.
It is simple Inbox Monitoring, it's not hard. Restaurants can do it, I'm sure a specialised financial firm for a billion-dollar car manufacturer can as well?
Mini UK 3 year service plan
I bought a 3 year service plan with my new mini cooper. Be aware, this will only cover your first service. Despite my car being booked in for it's second 19,000 mile service and first MOT two weeks and a few hundred miles short of 38,000 miles/3year anniversary, Mini UK refused to honour the service. That means that the 3 year service plan was a complete rip-off !
Absolutely atrocious customer services from their financial arm
Firstly, I am here to clarify that this is in no way a complaint about any MINI garage. This is about the utter rubbish financial arm of the company, Mini FS. Their customer service response times have been terrible and have been since my initial complain with them in 2019. Promises of investigating my case lead to no actual investigation, and any request to speak to a higher up resulted in getting palmed off by a CS Rep. Absolutely sick to the back teeth of them now.
Countless times I gave them opportunity to get back to me with a reasonable resolution to the situation (and IMO I think my resolution idea is more than fair) yet they continue to ignore me. It's like dealing with a right bunch of chancers. A stark contrast to the premium and customer centric approach I received from the amazing team at Knights Stoke on Trent, particularly Yvonne who had been super helpful.
Whatever you do, do not go with Mini finance. They can't even be arsed to email back, let alone deal with a bloody complaint.
Shocking treatment for loyal customer
My wife and I have been a customer for 13 years, through two finance contracts. On this particular one, after 8 years, we had to give the mini back as we both have lost our jobs through the Covid pandemic. The mini had 21,000 miles and in immaculate condition. We didn’t want to give it back, but it wasn’t financially viable to keep it. After the sales team gave a ‘quote’ of £260 of damage, I was encouraged to challenge it. After 8 years, I felt this was very good going. They marked up every little nick and tiny scratch. I explained to ‘Emma’ at ‘logistics team’ and explained our situation. We owed 4.5k on the car, and with its current mileage and condition the car was easily worth 7k on the market. We asked how it was fair we should be charged for these minor damages as in the end, Mini had the better end of the deal. We explained why we gave it back and how we were loyal throughout, also never missing a payment. Emma held no remorse, stating ‘we signed the contract’. She then said we could of bought the car from them. I explained we couldn’t afford £90 a month, let alone 4.5k! For a short term gain for Mini, it’s a shocking stance from them. We will never buy a Mini/BMW again, and would never advise it. Awful behavior, in this climate.
YOU WORKING WITH HUMMER NOW?
Think you need to change the name of your cars or start making them smaller again. I mean they're not exactly "mini" anymore are they! Back in the day the name made sense. They were small cars that actually looked quite nice, but the mini's I see nowadays are like twice the size as they used to be. Seeing twenty clowns get out of a mini nowadays is no where near as impressive as it would have been back in the day. Not only because you could easily cram thirty in one, but also because you have to be a bit of a clown to drive around in one of these anyways. They are pretty nippy to be fair Im not guna lie but to buy a mini you either have to be a girl or a snowflake. If I saw Sam Smith getting about in one of these I would not be surprised, not one bit. If you are looking to buy a girlier version of a Hummer or a Rangerover then I would recommend you buy yourself a mini immediately. They are about the same size and you will automotically scream "fabulous" at the top of your lungs as soon as you get in one. That is of corse if you have tall enough ladders to reach the door handle.

Wow and so glad found the reviews on here. Purchased a used 2 year old mini from Marshalls Hampshire dealing with Josh initially who was great. Things went from bad to worse dealing with both Umar and Vinceno the manager who couldn't even be bothered to reply to emails or calls. Had calls from the business manager Martyn who tried to fix things but it was always so late.
Issues - never calling back, never replying back to emails, poor communication.
Issues when complaining to Mini - patronising emails asking why I have never been on there system and no follow up.
Simply advice - avoid.
I bought a Mini Cooper Seven
I bought a Mini Cooper Seven, the whole headlight/Rearlight systems failed in the dark whilst driving no less than 5 times, each time the garage said they had repaired it and it went again roughly every 2 months still going on , BMW UK extremely rude and unhelpful like robots with the same reply on e-mail over and over again and now even though I have had an independent inspection of the car by a specialist and have a report of all the faults including knackered washer bottle system, timing chain on the way out and a in car entertainment system that has also failed they are still saying I have to take it to a BMW garage and pay for their "specialists" (what a joke that is)! to diagnose the problems that I already know about, the Independent examiner I employed actually works with BMW motorsport you can't get more specialist! The car has done 20k miles and is just over 3 years old NEVER EVER will I buy a Mini ever again and as for BMW UK they are shocking and don't give a damn, well I will see you in court very soon!
Avoid no customer service post sale !!
Ordered my new Mini Cooper S 25th Anniversary edition with out knowing the price etc. Was just looking forward to getting it! Wish I hadn’t now. After one month someone bumped into me. My car was in the garage for nearly six months waiting on parts. Complained to Mini UK on behalf of my Insurance. They initially were helpful when I wrote on their FB page but custom complaints were appalling. The parts were on back order for months no one could tell me why or how long. Then after writing to the VP. My parts arrived. But the wrong ones!!Then on back order again!! Finally got my convertible back in the winter. Then had its first service to find out the service pack on my quotation wasn’t added so I had to pay for the service. They wouldn’t let me add at the time. Said they would call me on the Monday to sort out a service plan. Still waiting!!!!
Won’t buy again
Poor customer service - have to keep chasing a response & they are extremely unhelpful online & at the dealership. Within a week of purchasing my brand new car it had a fault with the sensor and had to go back for a repair. The service department will try rip you off at every opportunity. Won’t be buying again.

From buying my car to BMW assist to servicing and mending my car under warranty and using 3 different dealerships I can honestly say that I am totally and utter dissatisfied, disappointed with my purchase .
I don’t think that there is anything wrong with the car itself but the way you are coerced into pretty much everything is disgusting . Anyone thinking of purchasing a Mini .... do not use BMW Assist . Do not use the warranty and do not have your car serviced by them . They are trained to rob you anyway they can
VERY POOR OR NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - FOBBED OFF!
Bought a brand new 2019 plate mini from a branch of Mini Sales and within three months noticed footwells of both drivers and passenger side saturated. It has now been three and a half weeks of complaints and our car being in the service centre for them not to be able to find the fault even though they acknowledge there is a serious fault and the car is under warranty! Spent 21K on this car and now we have been over three weeks without our new car, have a hire car arranged by Mini under warranty but threatened every day with the fact chance we may have to pay for this hire car. Our car is in bits in the service centre, still with the same fault it went in with and they refuse to put it back together until Barons Borehamwood (where we purchased the car) or Mini UK tell them what is happening and we are left in limbo because no-one will return our calls or emails!!! Mini profess that their customer service is second to none - what is should say is their customer service is NONE!
