Aurora grand tour 2026, it was brilliant a once in a lifetime cruise we loved the itinerary the crew were great and super friendly. Didn’t think the entertainment always suited us but we found other stuff to keep us entertained

On our recent cruise to Spain

On our recent cruise to Spain, the canaries and Portugal on Iona, the ship and amenities were all very good, the only thing which spoiled our trip was the lack of courtesy buses in Lanzarote, Two 9 seater plus 1 wheelchair buses were provided for persons with walking difficulties, as there were over 5000 passengers mainly elderly the queue was horrendous, waiting standing in queue for aleast 1hr 15 minutes each way, a let down by P&O as our package included port transport

A fabulous holiday above and beyond

A fabulous holiday ...even though this was our 6th time on the Azura the standard of service was exceptional.
The grand finale being the luxury of the cases being checked in for us so we next picked them up at our UK airport..

Extremely disappointed…

Before we even left for our cruise I’m extremely disappointed with P and o. We booked a two week cruise around the Caribbean months in advance and selected “queen” bed as our preference. Knowing we may get twin beds that can be pushed togeather. We was never made aware of any other room configurations. When we were allocated our cabin we have been given an accessible room with fixed twin beds that cannot be moved togeather. As a young couple in there 20s I did not understand why we would be given this room compared to someone else who is on this cruise in the 70s on their own in the same room fare. For example, my nan has booked the same holiday by herself for the same cabin and is 74. Yet a young couple in their 20s who selected queen bed as a preference have been given an accessible room with fixed twin beds opposite sides of the room. I then spent every night on call to P and o for the last week and all in all have said they cannot change it and that’s that. No effort to put us in a diffrent room or swap us with someone else who would be more suited to this room. Today is Wednesday we go away Friday. This morning I spoke to someone who was going to talk to inventory and yet we are still in the same cabin. This has ruined our experience and the excitement you would hope to have leading up to a big holiday.

We had a terrible experience with P&O…

We had a terrible experience with P&O Cruises and the start of our holiday was ruined.

At embarkation, my partner and I had our photos taken at security and were then given the wrong boarding cards. When we boarded, the photos linked to the cards were not ours. We were then directed to the wrong cabin, E330, which was not what we had booked and only had a porthole rather than a balcony. The cards actually belonged to another couple, meaning P&O had mixed up our details and cabin allocation, which is a very serious data handling and security concern.

To make matters worse, when we finally got into our actual cabin, A330, it had not been cleaned properly. This was especially concerning given there was a gastro issue onboard. We raised this with staff, but the response was poor. I asked for our drinks package to be upgraded as a resolution for the room mix-up and poor cabin standards, but was told this could not be done. Instead, I was offered a bottle of champagne and a meal in a paid restaurant, which was not a meaningful resolution.

The onboard payment system then became another nightmare. Although we were told charges would be settled at the end of the cruise, P&O kept trying to take money during the holiday, blocked our onboard account, and I was publicly told by waiting staff that I could not have a drink because my account was blocked. I was mortified. I was also stopped from leaving the ship for the day and told I needed to speak to Reception because of my account. After Reception finally allowed me to leave, Security took a photo of my profile on a mobile phone, which raised even more concerns about how our information was being handled.

We also received repeated letters to our cabin about payment issues and complaints. Frankly, I do not receive this much mail at home, let alone while I am supposed to be relaxing on holiday.

The worst part is that after I had already been forced to pay my onboard balance by bank transfer before leaving the ship, P&O still took another payment from my account after I got home. This left me overdrawn and caused real financial difficulty. I then had to spend even more time chasing both P&O and my bank to try to get it sorted.

Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. Poor organisation, poor communication, poor complaint handling, serious payment issues, and what appears to be a serious mishandling of guest information. I would not trust P&O to handle problems properly when things go wrong.

14 nights around the Caribbean on the…

14 nights around the Caribbean on the cruise ship Arvia, quality experience, quality food, quality places visited, one really really poor thing on the ship we're the lager glasses, lager was flat because of these, need proper lager glasses to keep the drink fresh

From start to finish P&O made our…

From start to finish P&O made our holiday easy and enjoyable.
Arvia is a huge, beautiful ship, it never felt crowded, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, with a wide range of people from different locations mixing.
We have booked another P&O cruise for 2027, and would easily recommend P&O cruises to our friends.
