Friends, I tell you the fact that Prismdrive.com is actually previously Thunderdrive.io ( both are from same scammer team). As Thunderdrive is disappeared similarly Prismdrive.com will be with our precious data. So be aware .....

If you purchased Prismdrive storage via StackSocial you should contact them to let them know. That I do now and they asked PrismDrive to fix the issue with my uploads and confirm I have 40 TB in my account to use.
PrismDrive doesn't have costumer service as human and no one will check your request.

This is absolute crap. I have never been able to upload files completely for past year. No way to determine the status of uploads once navigated away from upload page. There is no option to create support tickets

I purchased a voucher and then upgraded to the 20 TB option, but got an error when trying to setup my account. I have tried contacting the company several different ways with no luck. I keep getting a message they will contact me when they are back online. Even though I reached out during business hours. I am continuing to get the run around from their automated system.

Last few days 99,9% 500 server error

The moments when it works, uploads stops at +/-100 mb, since yesterday the uploads do go to 100% but never indexes, so yeah uploading is impossibe. hope this is a temp issue,

edit: after 4 weeks still impossible to upload files. not even possible to get contact with them to fix the issue, so beware!

Saw the promo for lifetime 20TB backup, and thought WOW.

Takes FOREVER to mount the files. I have 100mbps upload, so the file it self hits the server in no time, but then takes 5-30 to index a small 130mb file, and it actually took 8 hours for a 1gb file to finally show up in my list.
I can deal with slow, what I hate is that the site is down more than it's up. 500 SERVER ERROR is the message I get most days, all day! (ie: from 6:30 am to 8PM tonight). I have been trying for 3 days to upload a simple file, and have become quite flustered and frustrated.
I DO NOT recommend this service to anyone who needs reliable, ready access to their backup. Too bad they won't refund once the drive has been used.

You will not be able to upload anything. it's a money grab. once you try to upload anything (even the smallest file like 10kb txt file or pdf) it will not get uploaded. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

AVOID.

This is a very misleading product. I purchased the 20TB lifetime plan for $100. The sneaky things they don't tell you are:
1) 10GB Limit/file! The largest per file size you can upload is 10GB! The whole reason for getting this is to put large files. 10GB limit is ridiculous.
2) No Mobile App - It's extremely inconvenient to transfer files from your mobile device as there are no mobile apps.
Other issues are uploading seems to fail and/or take a really long time.
AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

As you've read by now, this is a scam. I bought a 20TB lifetime subscription for $106, and found the speed was unusably slow, in the range of 1kB/min. I've cancelled the subscription, and written to PrismDrive, to StackCommerce (where I bought it), to PayPal (where I paid for it) and to ZDNET (who promoted it). I will pursue other legal avenues as well.

This company is a 100% SCAM. I've been in the IT industry for OVER 30 years and I can tell you with confidence, they are SCAMMERS. Be aware, if you buy, they will NOT give you the time of day, should you run into problems. They don't give you the amount of online space you pay for and as all other negative reviews state, the upload speeds are so slow the storage space is unusable. In a few of our clients cases, NOTHING is able to be uploaded. They need to be reported to the FTC.

Purchased their lifetime subscription through Lifehacker/StackSocial, only to find that there's no desktop or mobile apps, everything is through the web browser. There's not even a way to see account/subscription status, not even under "Account Settings". I purchased a 40 TB subscription and it showed that I had only 10 TB. Incredibly slow upload and download speeds. The absolute worst, a waste of money.

Total scam. Next to nothing upload speed. Support chat will not answer.

Uploading takes ages, no Mac/iPhone support, no customer support for unhappy customers and you can not get refund after you have tried service. Total scam in my eyes. Never again!

I bought a 20tb lifetime subscription from PrismDrive using Mashable. I also got a discount as a new user of Mashable so the full price was $85.99.in my week of using the product, I had read the positive reviews on the PrismDrive website and the negative ones here on Trustpilot. First impressions are the only ways to backup files to PrismDrive was through either the website or via json code which requires a token key to use. I started out with small 23 byte text files that took over 15 minutes to upload. Then I upped the byte count to 168 and these files took over 27 minutes to upload. Them I upped the stakes and created a 147kb text file and after trying it on my Windows 11 Pro Dell and on an Apple iPad 9th Gen with iPadOS 16.6. Both os uploads did the upload part after an hour but the indexing would never finish. If you are like me, you aren't going to be backing up too many 23 byte text files so this isn’t going to work. I submitted a trouble ticket through Mashable and they had a script from PrismDirve of FAQ’s for customers to help solve technical issues. Basically you take a screen shot of the PrismDrive web dashboard, a screen shot of a maladvertising laden speedtest.org site result and send what issues you were having. I have a 600/20 mbps download/upload cable isp. After a few emails from Mashable tech support, it was determined that this was an issue with PrimalDrive and Mashable cc'd PrimalDrive escalating it. After 48 hours of no response from PrimalDrive, Mashable refunded my $85.99. So my recommendation is stay away from Lifehacker and PrimalDrive unless you like throwing away good money.

Update: I will say that my experience with Mashable was very positive. They got back to me quickly and after PrimalDrives lack of response to my issue, handled my refund promptly. I highly recommend Mashable but stay away from Lifehacker and PrismDrive

Okay, I actually got my money back which is a relief. I will not change the one star though, as the service is desastrous. It took 1 hour for the site to begin working after opening it, then 6 additional hours to upload 65 MB. Don't buy any of PrismDrives products, until your are able to find international reviews that its service has improved.
