SCAM ALERT!!

This Company will use your ‘User/Service Agreement’ to counter your chargeback on your credit card. Which means you’ll never get your money back, unless they refund it.

(They actually sent me an email stating that if I would cancel the chargeback they would refund, but I didn’t trust them to make good on the offer.)

I bought through Mashables, thinking I was getting an awesome deal for my wife. But I didn’t look at all the reviews beforehand and got scammed. The service has almost no support documentation online and I had to reach out through Mashables to even get to tech support, which is more like Tier 1 tech support that is mostly scripted. The service barely works. I tried to upload 2MB jpeg file and it literally took 5 mins to upload on a 10 Mbps upload connection?! Then it will show an error saying it failed, but 5 mins later show up as two duplicate files?! This service costs me $97 with taxes. For that money you can buy SSD that is way more reliable than this scam of a company. Or better yet, build your own home cloud storage.

I have never been able to upload a folder or file.

Need improvement a lot.
It takes so much time to upload even small files. There are many technical issues with their system. Sadly I have uploaded 28GB of data. I don't want this service to fail now.
And they have pathetic support, you can hardly connect to their support, and when they reply they won't admit their problems/issues and flaws.

I am just not able to upload any file. I tried accessing from 3 different countries and none of them work

Totally agree this is a scam. In two days, only uploaded 50 mb of files.

So I purchased this through a special like most people that have left reviews and yes, it's bad. BUT...and this is a "big but": it does seem to work. Part of the problem seems to be the way the uploads work: once each file uploads it SHOWS FAILED (but looks like it goes through some sort of validation) THEN CHANGES to a "PASS". So it looks like after such a long upload it failed and the user is tempted to close the browser and try again when in actuality it may be doing some sort of validation. It takes some patience...and yes the service is extremely slow. I am continuing to evaluate the service, but I wanted to let others know and see if they have the same experience. EDIT: if the speed increases, it may not be such a bad service. EDIT#2: PrismDrive actually publishes the API calls and an authorization token can be generated. So if programmatic access looks possible!
UPDATE: Yes, the service is slow but IT CAN be useful.It turns out that it speeds up quite a bit for zipped files, plus I was worried about security so I tried compressing and encrypting my files with 7Zip and that works well for my purposes! And 7Zip allows files to be compressed in chunks, like 4GB size archives. So far I've done about 400GB and it works decently. So not a complete loss! (Also, I see the storage they are using is Wasabi, which is a reputable platform.)

Wish i read the reviews before i got suckered for this one. this service must be using a 33 baud telephone modem for uploads - Yes its that Slow! great premise but they need to improve service.

Scammer, I bought an offer, but my account was not activated

While my friend bought lifetime storage, Everything was working well. But now he is unable to upload anything. But uploaded contents are still there and opening and downloading. The Android app on Play Store has been discontinued. Support team is not responding to any emails sent by friend.

NO STARS! I signed up for an inexpensive, lifetime 10TB of storage thru a "deal" on MacCentral.com. Sadly, after I've paid my money, nothing works. I can't even upload a 100kb file, much less the gigs of data I was hoping to store here.

I bought the product. In 4 days, I only managed to upload 75MB. It is ridiculous. It is a JOKE! It is the first time that I bought a product from STACKSOCIAL that it is RUBBISH. Stack Social should be preserving their name and not selling this product. It does not work. There is NO a customer care department, telephone or email. The chat did not work as there was no reply. IT IS A SCAM. Where is this company from? Where is it based? I could not find the information.

Lots of one star reviews! I agree with all of them. Has anyone posting these reviews discovered a solution to this problem? It's been my experience that many that have posted negative reviews never bother to come back to help those still struggling. I am trying to work with StackSocial to find out why they are still selling this product. They have said that they will contact the seller but I have heard nothing back yet. If I hear of a solution I will post it here.

I purchased a 5 TB lifetime product (via TechRepublic) from Prism Drive and the product are service are terrible. I intended to use it as an additional backup of my photos, but most of my very ordinary JPG files won't upload. Neither will most other files. I have tried countless times to obtain support via their chat bot and via email, both of which I never receive replies to. I have tried getting support over the last 9 months, unsuccessfully. This site is a scam in every sense.

I'd give a zero or a -1 if possible. I spent 15 days trying to get support. Over that time, I received two replies from Prism Drive. Neither response offered any suggestions or acknowledged my issues. When it worked at all, the upload speed was so slow, it was unusable. StackSocial communicated very well but was not effective in getting answers from Prism Drive. I disputed the charge and received a refund. I should have pushed for the refund sooner.

Prism Drive is a typical example of false pretenses. It sells cheap, extremely large cloud storage that is not usable in practice due to the absulutely underwhelming upload speed. Here someone is trying to make money at the expense of others.

All i have to say is super slow to upload. 100KB upload takes many tries and forever!

AVOID. I purchased a 20TB lifetime account. Endless issues uploading, 99% of the time there are errors uploading! Doesn't matter what the size of the file/folder is either. I have a brand new laptop with 16Gb RAM and a very stable 512Mbs up/down fibre connection.
ZERO.... AND I MEAN ZERO SUPPORT DESPITE LOGGING TICKETS VIA THEIR CHATBOT, EMAIL, CONTACT US WEBSITE.

Like others, please take heed this site is NOT worth the time and effort to even look at it let alone buy into its schemes. PCWorld who is now promoting this ridiculous redundant website is equally become untrustworthy and ready to sell trash to earn a few measly bucks.

On 27 Dec 2022 I paid $138.00USD for 1Tb of Storage.
I have asked for a refund several times with no response from anyone. This product is not fit for service. I tried numerous times to upload material only for it to either take an unreasonable amount of time to upload or fail. I have since used Koofr and am very happy. Not happy that no one is available to talk through my problems. I just want a refund. Oh yeah - never got access to the full 1Tb
