Great advice very professional and resolved as promised

In December we completed the purchase of a property with a self contained annex and paid a large amount in SDLT. We were contacted by SDLT Experts who informed us that if our annex fitted certain criteria we could have overpaid on stamp duty. We sent some of our purchase documents and photos of the annex and this week received a sizeable refund. Thank you!

The whole process from start to finish was simple, and consisted of a couple of phone calls and a few emails. We would recommend using the company if you believe you have overpaid stamp duty, especially as their fees are very competitive compared to others in the market.

I cannot recommend SDLT Experts Ltd & Jon Fitch more highly than a 5* review.

My wife & I purchased a house in North Norfolk in November 2022. The house came with a self contained annexe. In connection with the annexe our solicitors thought we may have a chance of some stamp duty refund based on the Multi Dwelling rule. We decided not to pursue this as the whole 'selling & buying' process had caused so much stress.

Crucially, in January we were contacted, by letter, by SDLT Experts Ltd explaining that we may have a case for stamp duty refund on our purchase. Jon Fitch then explained exactly how they found us, why they believed that we had a good case and explained the no win no fee caveat.

Based on this call and the professional and expertise displayed we decided to pursue a refund claim using SDLT Experts Ltd.

The whole experience lasted less than a month from filling in forms to receiving our refund back from HMRC.

Its important to note that any refund is paid in full to your own bank account and you will then be invoiced by SDLT Experts for their admin fee.

We moved house last September to a property with an annex. We were contacted by Jon Fitch in January of this year with a presentation on a video card, complete with supporting material arguing the case that we had probably paid too much stamp duty and it may well be that we could claim a refund. SDLT experts made a good case that they could claim the money back on our behalf.
