RONA.CA FALSE ADVERTISING

I left an honest review on Rona.ca website but RONA declined to publish my review on their website.

Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!

Here was my original honest review:

(With attached pic as proof that it was advertised as FROST-FREE but it's NOT)

It says in the product description that the fridge is frost-free but it is NOT.

We tried to reach out to Rona to clarify this and hopefully they will resolve this issue to our satisfaction but unfortunately we have NOT received any response back from RONA. What's more unlucky for us is this fridge went on sale the day after we bought it for $100 less than what we paid for.

Bummer that's a shame. It'd have been a consolation had we bought it for that discounted $100 off sale price or Rona makes an effort to contact us to address our complaint.

User's recommendation: Shop at your own risk.

Ordered a retractable awning online… DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM RONA!!!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Ordered a retractable awning online paid in full via paypal, called next day to cancel several times say they will cancel and send me an email and refund my money now 3 days later no cancellation no email no refund!
Their excuse is vendor needs to cancel it we have emailed them with no response this item was due to be delivered today!

I would rather burn my money than help pay the salaries of the jerks who work at Etobicoke location…

I’ve finally reached my breaking point with the customer service at the Etobicoke RONA. Every time I’ve had to exchange my SodaStream CO₂ canisters, I’ve dealt with the same older woman at the customer service desk—and every single time, she’s been consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Today was the last straw.

After waiting far too long at the counter while she tried to juggle multiple things—none of which included giving the actual customer standing in front of her her full attention—I eventually just asked if I could exchange the tanks somewhere else as I was unhappy with having to deal with her attitude every time I go in. Her response? A snarky and abrupt, “I don’t know.” At that point, I’d had enough. I grabbed my old tanks and said I was f***ing done dealing with them. Her response? Basically was “F*** you.”

Yes, that actually happened. Profanity from a customer service representative.

An assistant manager eventually appeared, but instead of diffusing the situation, he seemed more interested in escalating it. After some back-and-forth, none of which was entirely friendly from either side, he agreed to do the exchange, but then started asking for the original receipt for the tanks—something that’s completely unreasonable for an exchange program like this. After a much heated back and forth, I asked if it was required to do the exchange, and he admitted it wasn’t, but claimed he was “obligated to ask.” I still can’t make sense of this.

When I asked for the store manager’s number, he gave two numbers, neither of which worked.

Let me be clear: I’ve done a bunch of major renovations recently, I’ve spent somewhere in the ball park of $50,000 - $100,000 over the past few years at this store, and even back then I noticed the poor customer service, but I brushed it off. That was a mistake. My apprehension to go in to the store today, as it would seem, was well founded. I will never shop at this location—or possibly any RONA—again. I will eat the cost of the Indigo-branded carbonation tanks just to avoid ever setting foot in this store. I PROMISE YOU, you will never see another penny from me.

Absolutely unacceptable behavior from people whose literal job is to help customers.

Rona versus canac …

Je comprends parfaitement pourquoi Canac marqué Grenier vol de plus en plus de business à Rona après 20 minutes incapable de voir quelqu’un, je me suis même pas rendu à vérifier les prix, j’ai un 10 % avec la Corpic mais ça vaut même pas la peine pour la perte de temps

Rona forest lawn location

Rona forest lawn location. THE WORST... Never has the part you are looking for. Drive farther so you don't have to get pissed off EVERY TIME !!!!!! Rude parts counter person today as well. I will be back to return sprinkler that wont hook up because they don't sell quick connect.

We ordered a gazebo from RONA on April…

We ordered a gazebo from RONA on April 27 for $2,200, with delivery scheduled for May 2 and installation on May 8. As of today—three weeks later—we have received nothing.

We started following up around May 5, as the installation date was approaching and there was nothing to install. We contacted both RONA and the delivery company almost every day. Each time, we were promised someone would reach out “soon” to arrange delivery. That never happened.

Despite multiple emails and calls, neither RONA nor the delivery company followed through. We were repeatedly told to “wait a little longer” or “someone will be in touch.” No one ever was.

Eventually, we gave up and asked to cancel the order. We were told we’d receive a cancellation confirmation within three hours—again, nothing. The order is still not canceled, and we are still being charged for something we never received.

This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. We’re out $2,200, and RONA has failed to deliver both the product and any form of reliable customer service.

Rona en ligne attention vraie compagnie de marde commander un item le 9 mai livraison le 15 mai et bien non paiement perçu pas de porte le 15 date de livraison devenue le 20 mai employé réservé pour la longue fin de semaine pour rien j appel pour annuler la commande le 13 mai mais ont ne veut pas me rembourser car il dise ne plus avoir la marchandise qu il faut attendre que le produit soit de retour bande de voleurs vous savez où est le produit c est le vôtre vous devez me rembourser ici au Québec ont a 10 jour pour annuler un achat un contact il se foute carrément de la protection du consommateur

I recently renovated an entire condo and dealt with both Rona and Home Depot. My experience with Home Depot was dismal and I will never shop there again. Rona (Vanvouver Grandview Highway) was unbelievably fantastic! They were knowledgeable, responsive and determined to provide me with best customer service ever. Shop Rona!

J'ai commandé des électroménagers en lignes, qui devaient être livré dans 2 jours selon le site. Ils ont perçu le payement sans les livrer. J'ai canceller mais maintenant je dois attendre que les appareils qui sont a leurs entrepôts soient retourner au fournisseurs avant d'être rembourser. Combien de temps ils vont prendre pour cela personne ne le sais? en attendant j'ai payé 4050$ et je n'ai ni réfrigérateur, ni cuisinière.

Just watching new rona tv ads. Very upset about use of half a donkey. This is a very negative ad for a store. There are too many people who are not perfect. They are ridiculed and labeled with such phrases as"half" . Please consider removing this ad. Thanks.

I ordered a light fixture online

I ordered a light fixture online. The order arrived late and damaged. Apparently you must report any damage within 3 days of delivery. That doesn't seem reasonable. I do want any other customers to know about this policy before they order. I am not satisfied and will not deal with Rona again.

Rona customer service still sucks

I was trying to buy Canadian. We don't have many choices when it comes to building supplies. I went to RONA because they used to be Canadian (owned by an investment firm out of New York)
I visited the store to purchase paint for doors and trim, as I was looking for better quality paint than what I had. A clerk assisted me by showing me three options, and I chose the mid-range paint priced at $48, as it fit my budget. While the paint was being shaken, I noticed a sign advertising 30% off SICO Endurance, which would have been a better-quality paint at a lower price of $42. I asked the clerk if I could switch to the discounted paint, and she called the manager. To my surprise, the manager refused to allow the switch because tint was added to make it white.

I ended up purchasing the original paint because I needed it for my project, but I left the store feeling disappointed and frustrated. This experience has made me reconsider where I shop for my renovation needs.

When I got home I sent in a complaint and they offered me 10% off my next purchace. I felt it to be an insult. So I phoned customer service, they offered me a $10 gift card. That at least brought the cost down to the sale price. But I'm still stuck with crappy paint.

You would think customer service would be more of a priority during these tense political and economic times.
