Emma was extremely helpful and kept me fully updated on my 'fixed price fee' divorce. Although the process was quite slow, this was not her fault and she completed everything as quickly as she could and helped me with all my queries and questions throughout. Big thanks to Emma!

I find everything extremely disappointing. I’ve been told they have sent in my claim and the other part have 90 days(case being more complex- something I had to find myself in the CPR) to respond after they acknowledge the letter. I had to call back everytime to ask for updates and after a total of 100 days when I’ve been calling to ask what’s the outcome I’ve been informed that my initial caseworker was not working on my case and there will be someone else working on my case but they do not have any response from the other part and no further action made yet. However, yet there has been no further communication and I constantly have to call them for updates. Last thing I know(when I also had to call myself ) is that the caseworker had to send a notice which requires a response in 14 days, but no update or anything. I feel I need to find now legal advice and find out if my claim is being mishandled and what I need to do further from this point. I do not recommend the service!!!!!

It’s near enough a year ago 20th October 2023 that I was diagnosed with mesothelioma which is asbestos lung cancer I started my treatment on the 17th November 2023 at Wythenshawe hospital at the Cecilia centre as you can understand it was a big shock and worry not only having cancer but the financial side but my McMillan nurses put me in touch with the greater Manchester asbestos victim support group as I have worked all my life and know nothing about benefits so a phone call was made and Joel came to my home and sorted out all the benefits and compensation I was entitled to which I am so grateful for then he gave me a piece of paper with six solicitors on to pick to help me with my case so I chose slater and Gordon so I got in touch and a solicitor came out to my home called Pauline Chandler who took all my details of where I worked and had been exposed to asbestos once the ball got rolling her assistant Lisa Farrugia kept me up to date of the proceedings now my case has been won which I have been compensated for but the main thing is I have got on going care if any new treatment comes out for my disease I cannot thank Pauline and Lisa enough for all of there hard work and professionalism and I would well Recommend Slater and Gordon

Slater and Gordon handled our complex case Professionally, and with Kindness and Compassion at an exceptionally difficult time for my husband, myself and our family. Having suffered an amputation and a fractured femur in a road traffic accident while I was motorcycling abroad my insurers recommended a law firm to handle my claim against the driver’s insurers. Unfortunately the junior appointed quickly proved to be out of his depth and I was very concerned I would suffer financially.

I received the most terrible service from Slater Gordon (S&G) regarding them extending my property leasehold. Prior to engaging S&G, my landlord agreed in principle and gave permission for me to proceed. It should have been a relatively straight forward process, yet it took nearly 5 years – Yes almost 5 years! I engaged S&G to undertake the legal process in Sept 2019, and only received confirmation that all legal matters to extend my leasehold, were complete on 23 July 2024.

Throughout this time, I made numerous enquiries, telephone calls, wrote letters and made formal complaints, mostly unacknowledged or if acknowledged not acted upon. Out of frustration I requested a Freedom of Information (FOI) SAR to determine what was happening. I received a batch of over 100 pages of contacts.

S&G seemed to employ temporary staff who possessed little professionalism and customer service: time and time again solicitors/agents working on my case, came and went and departed S&G and abandoned my case, and did not pass the case on to colleagues to be completed. For years they did contact my landlord’s solicitors, then in December 2022 the Residential Conveyancing Team working on my case were closed. Another Legal Executive Consultant, picking up post business matters, realised my case had not been dealt with, and took matters forward.

I paid all my fees in a timely fashion, and waited patiently, and expected a professional service. Instead, I received poor communication, a poor professional service, and a long-drawn-out completion date, which caused me frustration and stress. I was never even given an apology or explanation of why it took so long to process my leasehold application. I am mindful of writing to the Legal Ombudsman and ask then to enquire with S&G why they took nearly 5 years to extend my property leasehold, far beyond acceptable and expected timescale undertaken by a legal firm.

Fantastic support all the way through my claim process, great communication from Darren and I understood what was going on at every stage. The service provided was fantastic and it was my first time with Slater & Gordon. Great work
