I started studying with That's Mandarin and Teacher Wang this year, after self studying for a while. My confidence and Chinese Level is improving rapidly and I like our lessons. I do them online and the web platform works well and booking a lesson is easy and flexible, which works very well with my tight schedule and strange working hours.

Modern teaching at its best. Great on-line platform with easy to follow structured lessons. The materials are challenging enough to keep you interested and ensure that you progress steadily through your journey. I love it. Highly recommend.

This is my second year studying with Qiu Laoshi, and I'm grateful to have found a teacher who's knowledgeable as well as engaging. My Chinese has improved through chengyu and unique vocabulary that are always well-explained by my teacher, breaking it down in terms of grammar and real-world application.

My main issue while preparing for HSK 5 is thinking in English and making awkward translations rather than articulating the Chinese equivalent. I have plenty of opportunities to improve with input through listening and output through constant practice. This is made possible by unstructured time to converse about pretty much anything. Still, there's also structure since Qiu Laoshi has adapted the textbook curriculum to include interactive and immersive activities, which makes recall much easier too.

The online platform is well-designed, convenient, and makes after-class and pre-class review very seamless. I always look forward to my twice-a-week classes.

I first started learning Chinese with That’s Mandarin back in 2017 at their Beijing campus. It was my first real exposure to the language, and their immersive, engaging teaching style helped me quickly pick up the basics. That's Mandarin 1-on-1 is just perfect for me as I need to travel frequently and the school is fully flexible to adjust my schedule accordingly. The course content is very helpful for mastering typical real life situations in modern China and the online and offline learning material is well designed and motivating. My teacher Na Ren adapts very well to my learning progress and requirements and is an excellent support. I fully recommend That's Mandarin to everyone who wants to learn modern Chinese.

I first started studying Chinese at Thats Mandarin years and years ago when I was working in Beijing. I was immediately struck by how different their teaching methodology was compared to other language learning programs I had taken. I was learning the vocabulary and grammar that I needed to express my own ideas and thoughts at that very moment, with lots and lots of spoken practice, rather than a pre-set course of words and structures that I would probably forget soon after. I eventually was able to get to HSK 6 (the old system) with the help of my teachers, but honestly I was even more satisfied with the progress I had made in my conversational abilities.

I moved away and my Chinese got quite rusty. In the past year I had more time open up in my schedule, so I decided to go back to That's Mandarin, this time via online classes. It's still the excellent teaching that I had the first time around, and I've had a great experience working with Wu Laoshi and Wang Laoshi. Thanks to their help my Chinese now is even better than it was before, and I've recommended this school to friends and family who have expressed interest in learning Chinese.

I’ve been learning Chinese with That’s Mandarin, and it’s been an amazing experience! The 1-on-1 lessons are super effective for me. My teacher helps me with pronunciation and tones, and they work really well with my learning style. My Chinese friends and family all kept noticing a big improvement as I took That's Mandarin's classes. Highly recommend especially if a 1-on-1 class is possible. After some basic classes through university and a Confucius Institute several years previously, I found That's Mandarin's immersive and active approach made a huge difference. Wu Laoshi made the classes fly - it didn't feel like effort at all, and when I asked for extra revision exercises even made me personalised work sheets. The videos and exercises and other features of the platform for online study provided a really helpful one-stop structure rather than worry about various learning methods, apps, etc. I also appreciated the company's desire to improve by seeking student feedback and a suggestion for adding a feature to the platform was very positively received.

That's Mandarin is a great company especially for people who are long distant from city centres where face to face lessons are or you work full time hours.

The teachers set a pace and goals based on the individual students needs and are great at adjusting as your own curcumstances change.

Having attended some trial classes with a few different schools in Beijing, I would definitely recommend this one.

You can take classes in groups or on your own, at a pace that feels right for you. It’s supported by a website and textbook, both of which help to structure recommended grammar and vocab, as well as material you may show interest in within classes.

Generally, That’s Mandarin has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There’s also some nice communal areas to chat with other students, study a little or do a little gardening. Also, free coffee and tea services are always a bonus!

My lessons with Shaodan have been great - she is highly proficient as a guide for navigating the language well, bringing just the right energy for keeping lessons interesting, engaging and fun - a pleasure to work with her!

I have been learning Chinese with That's Mandarin for a bit more than 3 years. The staff at That's Mandarin are really kind, polite and helpful and pretty much always accessible. I really like the structure they have created around learning Chinese which is closer to everyday life situation than traditional HSK books. Teachers in That's Mandarin (The ones I have had the privilege of learning from so far) are all competent and caring and tailor their teaching to the needs of the students.

I am using their one on one online classes which is more common for higher levels but more expensive than group classes however all in all I feel the prices are pretty fair for the quality and worth it'sx value.
