Useless service
The person I spoke with refused to accept the fact that gardeners work in the horticulture industry. After several minutes of attempting to explain this, they then incorrectly listened my industry as agriculture.
Also for some unknown reason, they wouldn't accept that I have the right to park on my own driveway, despite me offering to send a copy of my title deeds (which confirms this) and a copy of the statutory declaration signed by the previous owner confirming that the owner of my house has had uninterrupted right to park on that land since the 1940's.
With each discussion, the price of the policy increased.
I am frankly disgusted.

Fraudulent, heavy sales tatics,
After receiving two quotes from Compare the Market, we have continued to Van Line Direct to complete the insurance policy. On both occasions we were directed to call to validate the policy [even though we had been quoted, accepted and paid a deposit] The sales gentleman then starts the whole process again, on the first occasion I was lied to, it was implied that I had inputted the incorrect model on the comparison site and the insurance would coast an additional £600. On the second occasion [of which I should have known better and used a more reputable company] the sales person again took me through the whole process and tried every angle possible to increase the policy, at which I put the phone down. I can see that you obtained two quotations from us. The first did not account for your motoring conviction history, and the second involved a No Claims Bonus that you were not entitled to. I am sorry that this resulted in such a frustrating experience.
We do have a verbal validation procedure in place that involves going through the information provided online with one of our representatives. This is an important process for both ourselves as a regulated insurance brokerage and for you as a customer, as it ensures that the information on your policy is accurate and correct. Without this, customers can face claim rejections, and insurers can cancel or void policies entirely. The process is designed to get everything right from the outset.
We do guarantee our online rates where the information provided is accurate, but where discrepancies are identified, we are unfortunately required to provide a revised quotation based on the correct information. This can sometimes result in a change to the premium, depending on how the updated information affects the risk profile.
I have sent you an email so that we can address this matter directly, and I genuinely hope that I have been able to demonstrate our commitment to resolving this fairly and to your satisfaction. I cancelled my policy on the same dayâŠ
I cancelled my policy on the same day as taking it out as I found cheaper. This was 2nd June. I was told I would receive my refund within 2 hours. I did not receive it. I have called them 5 or 6 times now and been told the same thing each time - yes itâs been cancelled and you will receive your refund in the next 2 hours. One call handler supposedly escalated it to management who would issue this refund personally whilst I was still on the phone. Itâs now been 13 days and still no refund. Meanwhile I have continued to be bombarded with texts and emails telling me to validate my policy or it will be cancelled. I cancelled it on the same day as taking it out. So clearly there is a major issue in the customer service department. It was a substantial amount of money. Very disappointing and left me feeling powerless. No idea how Iâll get this money back.
