I can't begin to express my appreciation for the personal and professional service that the staff in the Chippenham office have provided.

I was in the unenviable position of being in the middle of life's five biggest stressors including divorce and (consequently) needing to find somewhere to live, fast, within a tight budget and in a central location. I had been around the letting agencies in town to register, but due to my status as having been previously bankrupt I was met with short shrift, disinterest and dismissiveness. Not so at Allen and Harris.

I was positively welcomed by Matthew Hooper, the Lettings Manager who not only quickly got me 'on the books' but actively offered solutions to my wish list. Almost overnight Jessica Burnell, Lettings Negotiator was on the case. Each time I popped into the office there was always someone on hand, from the Senior Branch Manager to the Sales team willing and happy to help if either of these two were out on business.

In short, within a couple of weeks I had the keys to my new home and was extremely happy.

I am not sure whether or not vetting and contracting with good landlords is a feature of their service but a review would not be complete without a mention of mine...super caring, fast acting and not in the least bit superior.

Thank you all involved. I hope I prove to be a model tenant for some time to come.

Allen&Harris have been absolutely amazing after taking over as sole Agents the sale of my home I cannot not praise them enough

From the time they picked up the baton from a wasteful fourteen weeks with a another agent “in days Allen&Harris had their sign for Sale up outside the door”, another couple of days passed and the photographer was at the house taking photos very professionally accomplished

I cannot praise the whole team enough from Vicky’ who was at the helm and Melonie’ sales administrator and other team members the whole operation was as smooth as silk

I was also introduced to a solicitor who handled my affairs on the conveyancing side with swiftness and professionalism taking a lot of the usual pressures out of my hands

Every step of the sale was impressive keeping me notified every step of the way even notifying me of scheduled appointments to the house of interested viewers: not unusual you may think however they have the keys am I am on holiday.

Don’t do the same as me and waste fourteen weeks choose “Allen&Harris”.

If I could leave a zero I would. As a tenant I have had the worst experience with this company. No communication whatsoever. Arrived to my new home to discover a bulging ceiling from leak, condemned Boole so no heating during December, the property had not been cleaned so was foul smelling and the drain was severely blocked. I’ve reported all this to them and they still haven’t fixed the drain which has now resulted in the property flooding and causing damage to my appliances and wooden furniture. Phoned on Saturday morning as soon as I was able and was fobbed off. I have had no one to contact and been sat in my damp house with the squelching carpets and kitchen flooor all this for £800 a month. Bloody joke

If i could i would leave zero star.
They misled me, at the first meeting and valuation, promised things but didn't deliver, they encouraged me to accept the first offer as buyers were cash buyers, this turned out it was not the case.
The deal fell through when allegedly my buyers buyers pulled out, two weeks before the moving date.
Most untrustworthy agents I've ever dealt with, I'm disabled,with several chronic illnesses, the whole experience made me very ill, from August 2022 to date 8th Jan 2923 I'm still in my home surrounded by boxes packed up to move.
ZERO STARS FROM ME

I used the Highworth branch of Allen and Harris and cannot recommend them highly enough . Having decided to move after my husband died they were with me every step of the way and couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Having a lot of problems with the conveyancing was most upsetting and yet nothing was too much trouble for the staff in helping me with the online forms and other problems I encountered with DC Law especially Andy , Chris, Molly and Gemma .

First time buyer so definitely lacking in experience when shown around the property I was interested in August. When I went to view the property I got a very lack luster response from the employee showing me around. I went ahead and made an offer at asking price on the property I was informed another party was interested and it went to best and final. My offer on a property was accepted. On rightmove it never said sold stc and as I started the process of giving my information etc and paying for searches. I learned about two weeks later that even after my offer had been accepted the previous person that had placed an offer also had placed a higher offer but that the owners were sticking with me. I started getting worried and was trying to move the process ahead to buy the property best I could. A month of so into the process Allen and Harris contacted me again to say that the owner was no longer going with my offer and yet again the other bidder had increased there offer. They asked if I was willing to go higher and I stated I was at the top of my budget as is. They than went ahead with this other party. This week in November I received a call to say the property was back up for sale. I quickly said I was not interested and buying a different property. I thought from start to finish with them they where very unprofessional and the specific employee I dealt with was not particularly interested in dealing with me and wanted a better price on the property probably for her own benefit.

Really lovely staff with great customer service. Very good communication over email and the phone. Bought my first home through them and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience

Absolutely abysmal service. Have been trying to get my tenancy deposit returned since early October. Been sent round the houses, calling offices in Newport and Newcastle with no joy. No answer from the Lettings dept so have to call Sales. Both advisor and office manager not prepared to listen to my concerns, instead resort to talking over me and then have the audacity to call me abusive. Requested complaints info, have called but no answer. This is MY money they are holding on to. I can't get it back

Selling a house is always stressful, but the shockingly bad service we got from the Frome branch made it so much worse. Agent talked a good talk initially, then as soon as we signed up would ignore calls and emails for days on end, as would others in branch. I don't expect people to get back back to me straight away, but I would like to hear from them before a week! All they're interested in is getting you to sign up. Messed up our EPC payment & got the dimensions & description of our house wrong. Only a handful of viewings over several months. Ignored us for a fortnight when we asked for a price reduction. Only removed us from their listings & returned our key long after our contract was up because we had to lodge an official complaint. I have never experienced such terrible service from estate agents before. Absolute time wasters. Would give them no stars if I could. Don't go through what we did, avoid at all costs.

Responded to me very quickly regarding a property for sale. Very polite and knowledgeable.

I recently sold my flat with Allen and Harris in Helensburgh. I cannot fault the service I received from start to finish. From the photographers to the Home Report, to the viewings and offers, I was kept fully informed every step of the way and could call for advice at any time. Patricia Dean who was handling the sale went above and beyond to provide me with excellent, friendly, efficient service,
always with a cheerful, helpful attitude. If she wasn't there one of the other team members was happy to help. Even the after care is second to none and I cannot recommend Allen and Harris Helensburgh highly enough.

When it comes to honoring commitments and customer service, Allen and Harris is the worst company to deal with. I've paid for my lease agreement but for the past 4days, it hasn't been treated. I've called more than 20times but no one is picking up. Seems they close by 12noon everyday now. Terrible Terrible bunch. Wouldn't recommend them.

Allen and Harris Abingdon were the agents for our onward purchase. Firstly Katherine and then Gemma were really good at keeping us informed what was happening. Much better than the agents who were selling our property. On what was a very long ongoing sale and purchase through no fault of Allen and Harris Gemma worked hard at trying to keep the chain active and to find solutions to push things on. She was always a pleasure to chat to and at the times things were not going well for us a positive voice to talk to. Thank you Gemma and Katherine

7 months. 7 months we have been in a chain with a property being marketed by Allen and Harris. Twice they have failed to complete due diligence on buyers. Twice their in-house mortgage broker has lied about mortgage offers for buyers when underwriters have turned them down. I wish I had known that their business practices were so appalling I would have rejected an offer on the basis that they were representatives of someone in the chain.

I was very impressed by their friendliness and professionalism. They were also very patient with my constantly bothering them. Well done Jack!

Like so many poor reviews here I had the same experience with the Devizes office, they were slow to get the property on the market, Lee Hodges the manager took awful photos so I provided them myself until I was offered a professional service for free. They initially marketed the property to the wrong group until I suggested it was suitable for an investor, bingo, we got a buyer! Here it went terribly wrong yet again, I was told the buyer could get this done by 5th April! 20th May after 4 months, empty property, investor to investor, in fairness I think the buyers had been stitched up with a trainee solicitor. However, I had to escalate my concerns to the area manager, Helen Crofts, who did monitor the case on & off, I asked that my property went to another office but this didn't happen either. All in all a very poor unprofessional office & company, worst I've ever experienced in 30 years of property sales & purchases, certainly wont be using or recommending them in the future.

Where do I start? What an unprofessional shower the westbury office are! It started with them booking the wrong photographer for listing the property (wrong camera so we had to go through 2 photography sessions). Branch and assistant managers turning up late for viewings. Turned branch manager away as he turned up half way through me showing a purchaser the house, so I thought no point in him being there half way through. Potential buyers not vetted properly or checks in place to make sure they already had a mortgage in principle from a lender. I’m sure they just let anyone with a pulse view the property. Last insult was 2 offers received and not one was negotiated to nearer the property asking price. Why appoint a “negotiator” if they can’t negotiate. Total waste of time appointing this company in my view!

I'd like to give them no stars. Incompetent nepotistic muppets. Their 'management' lol of my Cardiff property cost me at least £13,000 of additional work. A simple render crack and shower leak wasn't identified for over 11 months inc over winter, inappropriate contractors invited to quote, the tenant was ignored, I wasn't informed and it wasn't until it was such an issue that the tenant got the council and environmental health involved that it was determined that very costly repair works were required.A&H offered me a goodwill settlement of £150 hahahahahahahjahahahhhaahhahaahhahahaahahhahahahaahahhahahaahhahahaahha
