Audiologist very helpful and explained every thing clearly. Was very friendly and answered all my questions.

Good service with patience

The positives: the staff (I interacted with four individuals in total over two tests and a fitting) were all helpful, knowledgeable, professional, patient and friendly. They explained everything carefully, including my test results, the choice of aids suitable for me, their relative features, and the care of my new aids. I cannot fault them. The interiors of the examination rooms were clean, bright and comfortable.
However, there was one glaring negative, and it is one that prevents me from recommending the Boots Bluewater outlet for a hearing test. The examination rooms are directly adjacent to the route from the stockroom to the store, and therefore all you can hear most of the time is the noise of metal cages rumbling and rattling backwards and forwards. The noise is like being underneath a railway station. It is nigh on impossible to hear some of the test equipment over this constant racket. The hearing examination area appears to have been just shoved into a convenient space in the corner without any consideration of the needs of the facility. I would have thought that these facilities at such a high profile store as Bluewater would be given more thought, but they clearly haven't. The cynic in me wonders if Boots are quite happy with this, as even someone who had normal hearing would be hard pressed to hear properly with this constant background noise. My advice? Even though the staff are great, go somewhere else for your hearing test.

Data protection. I am not Ethne Durbin, I am her daughter and she does not want all her private information being sent to me. We went into Boots today to rectify this and it has happened again. You have attached my phone number and email to her account. This is a very serious matter!!!!!!!

Good service & understanding of the p Product

The audiologist explained everything very clearly and also included my daughter in all the discussions, I was very impressed .

Audiologist was friendly,helpful and very patient. I never once felt rushed. Everything was explained clearly and my concerns discussed. It's reassuring to know that changes can be made or, if you really don't get on with hearing aids, you can get a full refund after the trial period.

Booked an appointment with Boots at Bluewater, only to turn up and see a small locally printed sign on A4, stuck to the wall saying " Ear wax removal was not done at this site". At no point during booking on the Boots website did it it say this. Perhaps that is why the branch felt it needed to put up their home made sign. I have had my ears syringed many times, so I know what was required as I have the same symptoms.
I think boots are being disingenuous because it lists Ear Wax Removal as if it were a service that they do. Perhaps they just want to lure older folk in so they can sell them hearing aids.
Needless to say, I left after complaining. It was a complete waste of my time. I will not use this service again

Bluewater branch - I’m a long term Boots Hearing Aid user and I am always impressed by their willingness to help both with immediate repairs/support and new technology.
I’ve had hearing aids for over 30 years - Boots are amazing.

One to one consultation by a very sympathetic consultant

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID Boots Hearing Care in Bluewater. They have no empathy for people with hearing loss. And customer services leave a lot to be desired too, with a very "Computer says no" attitude. They have left me with no hearing aids for a week and half on two occasions now and I am struggling to work because of this. Life is hard enough at the moment without having another battle to fight.

UPDATE - hearing aids returned after a week and half with the wrong battery doors, customer services told me that I would need to go back to store and they did not know whether it could be done in store, surely this type of information can either be a) found out by a Boots employee or b) easily to hand. Except I got told that he was in North Wales and there was not much he could do about it. I wish I could give no stars.

14.11.2023 - Still no call from Boots even after providing them with contact details. And still no working hearing aids after 2 weeks.
