Buyer Beware

We purchased Renault Captur from this dealership On 13th August 2026. We signed the handover sheet in the showroom in trust and good faith
To cut a long story short, the car subsequently had, or developed a slow puncture. The wheel locking nut was nowhere to be found. We reported this to Cars2 Hyundai, Wakefield. Who after promising to look into it and ring us back the same day, never did. We rang again next day at lunch time. No applogy or recognition of their lack of basic courtesy. They then told us they had provided a locking nut because it was stated on the handover sheet. Fact: A locking nut was not supplied with that car. We can honestly say buying a car from Cars2 is not something we will ever repeat. Unprofessional, dismissive conduct.

1. How could we drive to your site safely, when the car had a slow puncture and no means of getting the wheel off?

2. You are insistent that the wheel nut was "present at time of delivery" can you prove this? Where was it "present" in the car? It will still be there.

3 Re gesture of goodwill, "at a preferential rate". We decided that after experiencing your post sale 'service', making empty promises to ring back etc (notice you do not address this in your response).
We'd rather cut our losses.

Car went in to Barnsley branch for a recall on the wheel nut hub and dipstick. Just picked up vehicle and it now has knocking noise to the rear of vehicle, something in which it didn’t go in with. Had issues previously with cars2 due to vehicle and aftersales problems, but seems the service department are also terrible too.

Absolutely dire experience. Guaranteed to try add on extras sneakily. Get defensive and accusatory when questioned. Manager at Wakefield is awful. Car has lots of faults, none of which are covered by warranty. Cars2 aren't interested, of course. The complaints team person is a deeply unpleasant man. Do not engage. Do not use.

Judging from their response, Cars2 are upset at my review. Maybe they could consider implementing better customer service, truthful communication, avoiding dishonesty and ensuring cars are fully roadworthy before selling? Just a thought. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I am far from alone in my experience. Just read the other reviews, and the embarrassingly stroppy responses.

I can review all day long. It brings me great pleasure to note that 84 people have read my review (8 of them at Cars2???) which means some people will be saved from being lied to, exploited and so on. 🎉

So I'll start with the good then get to the bad.
Cars2 Dacia Barnsley 5* fantastic they went above and beyond.
Cars2 MG Wakefield whilest staff were fine to deal with management were poor customers should be treated with respect not shouted at driving is a privilege not a right so when the matter was escalated to the manager that covers multiple dealership I thought we were back on track but when I have to tell him to calm down and count to ten you cannot tell me that is acceptable behavior. That's just my experience wait nearly a week to have a whole day being shouted at when I've already paid, reminder the two biggest purchases in life are generally Houses and Cars.
Update.I cant agree it was fully investigated it was dismissed, I was refused a phone call and then only offered a full refund as you had no alternative. But im still out of pocket i had to pay to get insurance changed again and pay tax again so lost a months road tax it all adds up when you were up sold it and promised XY&Z if something seems too good to be true it usually is go watch the CCTV those were my exact words.

I just turned up at the cars 2 Nissan Wakefield branch recently.
No appointment but was greeted by Muhammad and after a brief chat was taken out for a test drive which I was also allowed to drive
Muhammad was super friendly and a deposit was paid.
I collected the Suzuki Celerio a few days later and concluded the cash purchase with Jaden, who was also very pleasant.
All in all I'm very pleased with the service and purchase.
The few gripes I had was the amount of form filling necessary and the pressure to buy an extended warranty.
Unfortunately Cars 2 don't give a warranty other than tyres and battery etc. Their warranties are rather expensive and upon reading the items covered and procedures for claims I was refunded the full £200 for 12 months cover as it was within the 14 days cooling off period.
The very efficient Manager, Liam, handled the refund and the money was back in my account after 4 days, as advised.
So yes, a very happy customer, even though there were no signs of any pre sale service being performed other than a hoovering and over excessive application of sanitiser that made the interior stink so much I had to keep the windows open for 5 days. No service sheet was included and I had to ask for the service book to be stamped.

Muhammad was great, knowledgable and very patient. I would recommend going to this dealership as everything went smoothly.

Great experience with both Uzair and Lewis! Really looked after us and did a great deal for buying my car and taking my old one in exchange.

Made to feel welcome and good attention to what I asked for within my budget. Very good deal put together by Josh who was friendly throughout the whole transaction.

From an initial view to the end of actual purchasing my new vehicle, it has been a simple process and that means a lot to me. George and Ed have been wonderful in making this seamless so thank you both for being so welcoming, it's been a pleasure and a great experience. Will certainly recommend car2. Purchased a used Hyundai and have been constantly let down by this dealership.

Was told I couldn’t take off the welcome pack that they charged over £400 for. But then they have admitted they never ordered it and still haven’t delivered it in full.

Was told I couldn’t remove the front and rear dash cams from order as we saw the vehicle already had used ones in and they had to be removed for GDPR purposes. Charged £912 for these. Dealership has supplied vehicle with the old dash cams less SD card and instructions and only offered a 50% refund.

Refuse to prove they have applied the £499 GardX treatment that I paid for despite the vehicle not displaying any evidence of water beading.

Customer Service totally unhelpful. As are Hyundai. I would have expected much more from a main dealership.

Now with motor ombudsman.

It’s good to see from their reply they will cooperate fully with the ombudsman - given they are contractually obliged to. Although of course they do seem to be happy to ignore contracts they enter into with customers. Maybe if they didn’t it wouldn’t have reached this stage.

Went to Car2 Wakefield after enquiring about a nearly new Nissan Juke for my wife, everything about the experience was first class. We made an appointment with Mohamed to view the car and discuss part exchange and pricing, the appointment was spot on time, Mohamed was knowledgable, friendly and not in the least pushy and we quickly reached an agreement to purchase the Juke. The purchasing and handover process was seamless including taxing the car, setting up all the usual things you have to do with a new car, phone, connecting the car to the internet etc and the whole handover process took around an hour. The car had been prepared before our collection and was in pristine condition. I would with confidence recommend Cars2 Wakefield to anyone wanting a great deal on a Nissan, my wife is delighted with the purchase and based on my experience Mohamed is a credit to Cars2.
