Got to the heart of the problem very quickly and saved me a fortune by not engaging in unnecessary building work.

If you have damp, I strongly recommend consulting the Damp Detectives first so you know what you're dealing with. It costs a bit of money, but it pays off in the long run.

Tim made a visit to our flats, to carry out a survey on one that was experiencing damp issues, he was efficient and helpful on site, also providing a report on the issues, the cause and the suggested remedies, the service was very prompt and thorough.

Liam from the Cambridge division has helped us with a damp issue in our house in Saffron Walden. Liam was very responsive in setting up appointments. He kept in contact throughout the process as I was not at the property which is rented. He provided a very detailed report with photos and a glossary which explained all the findings in layman's terms.

Liam followed up with a phone call to ensure we understood everything and to answer any questions. He recommended a company for remedial work and was courteous and professional throughout. I would highly recommend using Damp Detectives and Liam in particular.

Darren did a damp survey on a Victorian era house I am buying in Oxford after my original RICS survey identified damp readings. Very clear and fast communication and got the full report to me very quickly. He understands old houses and the report was really useful in terms recommending a range of things that could be done that fit with the age of the house (rather than just injecting a chemical DPC). Damp Detectives Ltd provided a satisfactory service. The team was knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful in addressing damp issues with our home. While the advice was clear and useful, the solutions were basic and sometimes felt overly simplistic. Improvements were suggested to help with ventilation and drainage, but certain aspects lacked deeper analysis. Overall, an average experience.

I met with Jonathan Young this morning and he was brilliant, he answered all my questions and provided detailed explanations. They confirmed what the problem I had was and also provided helpful solutions to mitigate/ resolve the impact. Well worth the money and reassuring to know exactly what I am dealing with.

We have spent three winters trying to solve an issue with condensation on our aluminium windows. Tim came to see us with his box of fancy gadgets and meters and was able to demonstrate exactly the problem to all the interested parties. Andy visited us in February to undertake survey and investigate areas of suspected damp and mould in two rooms, which has given us a way forward. Full report followed later. Recommended The Extraction Group who have now extracting wool insulation from our cavity walls (just over a month since Andy's visit) - insulation was no longer effective. Exploring two other ideas that were given to us before we redecorate the rooms.
