Weren’t able to get information that other credit reports were able to get and said I could contact them to challenge it but none of the links worked. It massively affects the score given and doesn’t give a true reflection. Disappointing.
Regarding the reply below, my point is I tried to contact you via the help section to no avail. You say I’m not on the electoral roll but I am. I’ve been on it ever since I was qualified to be on it as an immigrant. You gave me a score of 200~ out of 1000 when TransUnion gave me 600~ out of 710 and Experian gave me 900~ out of 1250. They gave me 20% when everyone else has given me 80%. That’s insane.

Shocking
I was declined from purchasing a new phone contract because I failed their credit check. I recently moved house and had to change my address on the electoral register. I contacted Equifax to notify them the address they have is incorrect, only to get told Equifax take up to 8 WEEKS to update this information. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to wait 8 weeks to reapply for a mid-range mobile phone because Equifax flagged one very small snag. Getting my mortgage was easier than trying to buy a new phone. Thanks, Equifax 🙄

We can't give you a specific explanation as to why your application for credit was unsuccessful. This is because credit lenders make their own decisions and don't share their reasons with us.
To find out why you were refused credit, you should contact the lender directly for an explanation of their decision. Many lending decisions are made through an automated process. In cases where the decision is 100% automated you can ask the company to perform a manual review of your application.

I noticed what appeared to be an obvious issue with my credit score, which was consistently displayed as a perfect 100%, despite not being consistent with the information and scores provided by other credit services. I raised the matter with Equifax and subsequently filed a complaint, but was informed that the complaint was not valid and it was not investigated further.
As the service was unable to address what I believe to be a clear data quality issue, I no longer see any value in continuing to use it and have decided to cancel my subscription.

Rated my score as poor without any good reason or explanation - the only thing they pointed out - not being enrolled with electoral vote that I am not eligible on the first place and a missed minuscule payment for broadband service in 1,5 years. My score with another agency is “good” for example…

Shocking company
Shocking company, who provide clearscore with data. They are missing the last 6 years of my credit history. It's like I disappeared of the face of the earth in 2020. As a result my rating is poor with them, but excellent with all the other companies. They are missing everything from addresses, a mortgage, several different lines of credit that have been opened and closed in that time. When complaining, you go through the standard loop of automated responses.

I have been trying for over a month to…
I have been trying for over a month to contact Equifax. Every time I send an email or make a complaint, it comes back that they have not received my email and comes straight back to my inbox. This company are the worst and need to be challenged. Having people’s information and personal data without their is still illegal. I have made an appointment with my lawyer to have a letter sent to them. If my data and details are not removed then I will proceed to raise this through the legal route and will be claiming compensation.

Although it’s important to remember that the credit score we provide to you through myEquifax is just for you and cannot be seen by any lenders you may apply for credit with, we do have some general guidelines for you to follow if you want to improve or maintain a good credit score:
• Register on the electoral roll at your current address
• Establish and maintain a positive credit history over a period of time across a variety of credit accounts
• Make your repayments on time. You can avoid missed payments by setting up direct debits
• Ensure that any open credit agreements are listed at your correct current address
• Keep your credit utilisation low and avoid taking out cash on your credit cards

Helping to build my credit report
I signed up with Equifax in October 2025 and I wish i had done so sooner.
I've had a lousy credit report for a while. It was costing me a lot of money and causing all sorts of problems.
I signed up with equifax and found my credit file wasn't as bad as I thought. However believe it or not they give you lots of hints and tips to improve your credit file. They email you updates whenever things change on your report. Then you can inform your creditors.
Your credit report is something you should guard like your national insurance number or your bank PIN number or your passport. It's absolutely vital.
What I would suggest you do is sign up to Equifax today and use their services. Trust me in the long run it will save you a lot of time, effort and money.
So the usual questions.
1) Would I use them again? Yes.
2) Are they worth the money? Good value at 20 times the price.
3) Would I recommend them to anyone else? Yes
4) What would I recommend the public to do? If you are over 18 I would sign up to Equifax immediately, get a free trial and then sign up for £14.95 per month. That is nothing compared to what you'll save in the long run. Follow their advice and keep your credit file in tip top condition.
