Helpful clear and concise advice got me to where I needed to be.

Absolutely unreliable!!!! Don’t waste your money, and figure it out when u find yourself with a broken car in a foreign country without any help at all!!!

Never ever use rac european breakdown assistant please try others they pass you onto an agency in France. Use other companies not RAC

Called up asking for a receipt for the policy but the man (Paul) I spoke with was very rude and had a bad attitude. Tried to use the chat bot in the hope of a different person and had the same guy who doubled down on it.

Easy to book and arrange.
Just prior to the trip out vehicle had a major issue. We had to swap to our back up car.
Dropped an email to see if was possible to change cover.
10 mins later had new cover confirmation and a personalised message saying hope the trip goes well and all sorted.

Great company.

Don't use this company total pointless (this is live as it happens) I broke down yesterday 30 July 2025 12:30 heading up to Risoul 1850 ski area/Vtt.
Halfway up bang rear differential blowen no drive arrgh.
Managed to freewheel in reverse 500m to safe ish place . At 12:58 I began my trip to hell contacted Eurobreakdown.com
Very nice people on phone 7 hours later still no news 8 hours told can't fix in france to end of August can't take me home to UK till end August . So I suggested take me to morzine I have friends there where I can leave my campervan and return to fix when I get parts and that's end of there involvement..
Forgot to say they left me on side of road over night I end up asking a farmer (€130) to drag me up to a safer layby ..
24hr later im told can't take me to morzine till 9th August.
So I suggest get me somewhere safe to store my campervan in near by Guillestre. Now 26hr they tell me there trying to get recovery but storage will cost me 31€ per day and they will let me know when I'll be collected.. 27hr (14:10 31 july 2025) im told can't collect me
Following 1 August between 9amand 12:30 ish . I lost it and hung up .. there a total waste of money very to talk to but have no use what so ever if you need help .. STAY WELL AWAY what's on the policy is pointless if they do nothing price is not a guarantee of service . Im 4 mile up a mountain road 1000miles from home payed for recovery to home insurance with eurobreakdown.com for few years now fortunately never need help !! The minute to need them nothing but BS still nice people to talk to but hollow promises iv done my best to save them money and still crap service.. im on my own going to risk reversing down to a campsite about 5 miles down hill hope I get there there a big turn in about 2 miles down hopefully I'll get turned and then freewheel to campsite. Getting train to grenoble tomorrow 5hr trip pick and hire van up come back campsite load some gear in out of campervan then travel home collect parts and tools to fix my campervan and drive back haho // eurobreakdown.com won't help at any cost total frustration there a fraud Don't use them ... over and out
Finally in safe place sorted it my self . repairs are in hand and should be fixed by Saturday afternoon 02/08/2025 ..

Do not take this cover out you will not receive any help and very limited money back from what you spend out on hiring your own cars ect. Having driven to France last year with car we broke down a day after arriving. They sent a breakdown recovery within 2 hrs that was great but then they took the vehicle and we had no idea where they had taken it. Rang rac next day they were in charged with finding us a hire vehicle at there cost which was in the policy after 2 days of constantly calling them they couldn’t find one and there I asked what do I do there reply find one urself and we will reimburse you which I did. Then we had lost our original ferry crossings back to uk and had to buy new ones from Calais to uk then we had to hire another car from Dover to our destination in which they said they would cover cost. The up shot in all of this they never repatriated our vehicle they made inflated garage costs of repairs so that it out weighed the value of the vehicle. They only paid a third of cost of hire car in France and they didn’t pay for new ferry crossing or hire cost from Dover to home. The whole experience was a shambles just there to take your money with very limited help. Please please do not be fooled by these people just because it says RAC it has nothing to do with the uk version. Do not let these people promise you help in there policies and totally wreak your holiday these people need to be found out thankyou I hope it helps someone not to suffer there lies.

I've been using Eurobreakdown for the past few years, and they've consistently delivered as promised. The coverage is comprehensive, and I’ve never encountered any issues. I had a request to resend a link to my documents for a trip I am going on in a few days time. The chat was answered very quickly and a link to my documents was sent within seconds. A fantastic service.

Spoken to one of the advisers about how to change over breakdown cover from one jeep to another jeep which wasn’t easy try to do this online as I was using the same private plates and what made it even harder was the jeep was the same as the new one which I couldn’t get the system to understand so spoke on line for help must say they were very helpful sorting the issue out they always given me great satisfaction with their services well done Eurobreakdown

I went to their website, provided my plate number, and filled all the data. The website accepted it gladly, offered me a deal, and I was ready to buy the insurance. Fortunately, I was cautious enough to read the wording carefully. And found out that my motorcycle has to be at least 150ccm for some unspecified reason. Well, it isn’t. I’ve been riding happily across Europe on a 125ccm bike. It’s still a motorcycle, isn’t? Not according to the company.

If I payed, they would accept money, but the contract would be void. They had the required vehicle data, the contract wording says they do not insure it, yet the website has no warning, no message, nothing.

The website does nothing to save you from falling into this sort of legal trap. It’s up to you to make sure you fulfill all the requirements, and some of them are not obvious.

I cannot say this sort of strategy is dishonest. Deal is the deal and you should read what you sign. Still, the company does not do much to prevent you from falling into a pit, if it means more money for them. Would I trust that sort of company to help me in a breakdown situation? I don’t know.

So think twice, and above all, read carefully.

I needed to either take out a new policy for a single trip or add on to my existing single trip policy. Paul on the chat was instantly there, very helpful and sorted everything out in minutes by upgrading my cover to annual. This is why I chose this company - reading all the reviews like this which rate Euro Breakdown the absolute best in class for customer service. And no bots! I will never use the RAC again.

WARNING!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! We paid for breakdown. We broke down in France but they didn't help us. They wanted us to be picked up and taken to a garage to pay to be diagnosed EVEN THO We was already at a main stream garage and already had been diagnosed. We was forced to drive back with a snapped In half belt and no lights, no wipers, radio, heating windows nothing. We did not get recovery back to England. Since being back the manager Paul's attitude wasnt helpful and kept trying to pass the blame to another company that deals in France!! Never ever would I use or recommend this company!

Broken down in Europe for over 24 hours i had to ring repeatedly to be told that I would be called straight back this did not happen, at no point did Eurobreakdown call me even to let me know there was going to be a delay, currently i am stranded and don’t know what to do, this is not a great situation to be in. In my opinion this service is a scam.

Took out single trip insurance for a week long trip to France. Nothing is covered, even if you get the gold policy, which I did. When I called them on 24/12/23 seeking assistance they failed to find someone to come and help us (we were hardly in a back water, 50km away from Geneva). 4 hours and repeated futile calls to their call centre later we sorted our own recovery. Please avoid at all costs!! Take your money but then fail to help you when you need them!
