Staff friendly and helpful. Great service from start to finish.

Evans Halshaw Blackburn is my "go to" for a new car. This time I was guided through the choosing and buying process by Asad. Asad was very helpful, polite and professional, and if he did not know the answer to any of my queries, he went off to find out the answer there and then.

The worst car buying experience I have ever had.
I Bought a car and was told it had full service history, but it turns out it didn’t have any history.
I was told it was in the glove box, then it was online, then it was at a different dealership and then there was no history and the car was sold with no history.
Car has also been back to garage on 4 occasions for the same fault.

Bought a skoda karoq from nick the salesman,£26,000nice enough guy,went down the road a mile passenger window won't open,straight back to nick he had quick look,the told ME! take it to a Skoda dealer it's still under warranty,bear in mind I've just given him £11000 pounds.took it to Skoda in Crewe couldn't be more helpful.3days later after a downpour the boots full of water the seals leaking,phoned to complain told we'll have look if you bring it in,not told (warrenty may be void if work done by others),back to Skoda helpful again,two weeks after the service light comes on,service by 2nd july£236,,(I haven't had the car for 2weeks yet),all booked in for25 /6,on a work day for me,£160 down in my wage packet because I've got to take it myself to Skoda dealership,phoned back to the manager at e/h to see if he would meet me halfway on my wage for inconvenience to myself and to keep a good customer satisfaction relationship,well I might as well have banged my head against a brick wall---sorry we don't give cash back to customers,the overall impression to myself is--- you've bought the car you sort it out,thank you all at Evans halshaw for your lousy customer satisfaction policy, k ribbans

Brilliant service by Jayson. Made the whole purchasing procedure a breeze.

I'll start off by saying the initial buying experience at Evans Halshaw Blackburn was good. No issues and the staff treated me great. However, after the sale was done is when things went down hill. Keep in mind, this was a second hand vehicle for just under £18k that was still in warranty with Ford.

First thing was the spoiler light broken. I was told to take this to Evans Haldshaw in Batley (closer to where I live) who sadly didn't know about it. A few days later I returned where they'd now ordered the part but still not be given authorisation to fit it from Blackburn. More waiting and finally it was sorted.

Then the next problem popped up in that I noticed one set of rear lights had a small cluster of cracks within the plastic (not on the outside). I contacted the sales person at Blackburn who responded with "There will be marks on the vehicle as it is a used vehicle. We would not be able to authorise this work to be done". We're not talking marks on the vehicle. We were talking clearly issues with a part, which is covered under warranty. I then contacted a manager who took the details and said would call me back. He didn't. I wrote an email which was also ignored.

Around this same time I noticed that one of the diamond cut alloys had been cheaply repaired and painted to hide the fact. Sadly I wasn't getting a response from Evans Halshaw Blackburn I felt no alternative but to use their complaints procedure. Finally I heard back from another manager at Blackburn who agreed for me to get the alloy properly repaired and send him the bill. Also to take the car to Batley to check the rear lights.

Batley did indeed take photos and look at the lights but that's as far as that went. I decided to contact Ford Customer Services as I had one of their cars, still under warranty, and thought it troubling that a warranty covered part was causing so many issues in getting replaced. They took up the case and also chased Batley who kept saying this was with Ford Warranty and nothing to do with them until approved.

Finally after many weeks I'd had enough, went to Lookers Ford in Leeds and they took one look at the rear lights and contacted Ford Warranty. Ford Warranty simply asked Lookers if they considered this warranty work and they did. The lights were replaced in three days. Lookers did what Evans Halshaw Blackburn wouldn't do and what Evans Halshaw Batley couldn't do, instantly. Lookers also noticed some issues with the front brake discs that although not MOT failure or dangerous, could've been mentioned at the point of sale as the life span will be much shorter than expected.

Now all that said, I fully understand that purchasing second hand cars, there's going to be the odd issue. Some minor, some major. The problem comes from how those issues are dealt with. It's in the after sales that it matters when purchasing any product as that's what gets the good reviews and guarantees repeat custom. Let's face it, the only reason I heard from the manager at Blackburn was due to my complaint. When you have to make a complaint to get a response, things are not good.

Jayson was great to deal with! He wasn't pushy and explained everything to me and kept in touch on regards to my car being delivered etc. Very happy with my purchase!

We went into Evans Halshaw in Blackburn, we were allowed time to have a look around the cars without being pestered. We then approached Reyno, who was immediately pleasant and knowledgeable. We weren't ever felt pressured to buy the car but we were able to take the car for a spin before going through the details. He showed us all aspects of the car and services that were available. We then arranged to pick the car up the following day once it had been washed and cleaned. The whole experience was stress free and would definitely recommend. Reyno got our humour and made us feel at ease throughout.

I visited for a test drive and immediately liked the car.
The staff were great. I noticed a few issues with stone chips and was assured they would be sorted by the smart repair before I picked up the car. I reserved the car immediately.

A few days later I went to collect the car, being told it will be ready for 1pm.

We went through all the paperwork then the salesman brought the car round. Half of the issues had not been touched and the ones that had could have been done better by a child. The manager came over and sent the car back to the smart repair.

This delayed my collection by about an hour.

The final result was still extremely poor. Far below the standard I expected.

I suggested the price should be dropped slightly or something thrown in to make up for it but was simply told no.

I'd have been happy with £200 which would probably pay for a real professional to sort the bodge job.

I wanted the car and had little choice as I'd been dropped off at the garage by a friend.. and was now stuck 40 miles from home.

It turned what should have been an amazing experience into somthing else!

I will not buy from Evans Halshaw again.

I needed to use a ford garage so 1st time iv used, prompt collection picking my car up from my home address to the garage for a service kept in touch regarding what extras i needed.

I was not given any information about the MOT done on my car. My car had a service not long ago ' Again, I was not given any paper work or information on any issues or what was checked on my car.

We only went to look! But then we found the perfect car, at the perfect price and we decided to buy!

Jayson was fantastic, helpful, knowledgeable and not at all pushy! His colleagues - Nick and the girls on the customer service desk were also fantastic, and made the all experience, smooth and enjoyable.
