Had a credit account with this terrible excuse for a company just to build credit. They make you buy items to keep your credit limit or they take the limit away. I had a security breach were I needed to change debt cards so 1 payment was not being processed. They immediately put a 30day late on my credit for a 22 dollar payment. Never called to let me know. Not email or anything. They are refusing to take it off. They charge outrageous amounts for common items. I bought a watch that broke in a week for 270. Was online for 68 bucks new. I started with fingerhut To help my credit score it ended up backfiring on me because their interest is outrageous and everything they sell is double priced. I recently ordered A-tent through them back in April I have been so busy with work I have not had a chance to use it until this past weekend after a 4 hour drive with 2 kids in 90゚ weather we get to the campsite open the 10th for the 1st time to find out one of the stakes that holds the tent up is missing and it has a hole in it. Fingerhut is refusing to replace the tent or at least send me the missing stake that holds the 6' high dome tent up . I can deal with the hole. But because I'm past the 60 day warranty they told me I should have opened the tent up when I got it.i live in an apt. Where did I have room to open a 6 person 6' high tent! I'm not happy with them at all they've just lost a customer. Paid $130 for a tent i cant use!

Overseas customer service as well as US based customer service was zero help. Just kept apologizing. They will reimburse shipping, but, only after all items are received and I mail the receipt. I will get it in 30 days.

I have been reading such harsh reviews I on the other hand have nothing but praise for this. company. Stating they're overpriced. I'll speak for myself I had credit with them at one time after my daughter passed my credit was shot. They gave me a second chance with the Fresh Start program. Their prices are higher because we are a risk and they can. Fingerhut was compared to Walmart get a Walmart credit card then and Shop there. Also they don't give credit increases I have gotten 2 in the last year and I didn't even ask for it. Another review I read regarding purchasing items with the warranty. Stated they're ripoff because they thought they still had to have the account open to use the warranty. Shame on you you don't read your warranty that is no fault of theirs. It's almost like these people are penny wise dollar stupid in the long run I am building my credit back up if you do what you're supposed to do there shouldn't be any complaints with the company. Now if It's a manufacturer problem that's on them. Most complaints are due to ignorance because nobody reads anything. The few calls I've made to customer service and I use that term loosely because there is hardly any nowadays I've had a pleasant experience. They're not rip offs and they're not a scam and I will recommend them to anyone who has fallen on hard times and is trying to build your credit back up kudos to Fingerhut

Fingerhut is an absolute SCAM!! It will not help your credit! At 1st it will raise your score, then they give you a huge credit limit and tell you if you use the entire thing you can keep it! If you do this it will lower your score. (Credit usage will be to high) even if you use part of it, your credit will go down because they take the increase away! Every penny you spend you keep! Everything else is taken back so your credit score will get lowered! (Decrease in credit) The card is a joke and very deceiving!! PLEASE be aware!! Just because they'll give you credit, doesn't mean you should take it!! It's worth waiting to get a card that will actually help your credit! Instead of getting caught in their vicious cycle of trickery! Thanks for reading! I hope this helps some people!!

I applied to Fingerhut was approved bought as bunch of things for our home paid every month very early and paid off the balance very quickly as well. They give me a 900.00 credit line increase and then I don’t place an order for about a year and they decrease my limit and credit score goes down!!! It’s MY choice if I want place an order and now you penalize me and reduce my credit limit which I NEVER asked for an increase!!!! Thank you for destroying my perfect credit score of over 700! I will never order from your company again!!!

Fingerhut is too old and needs a serious update. There system and policies are out dated from another century. I applied last year... was approved.. I moved out of state...tried to order items for my new apt...nope can't order...cause I would have to use the address I applied with....I called...can't help me change my shipping address....my billing address is different....just close up shop ya too expensive anyway with interest. Everything on their site is about $100 less if u go to walmart....now I lost points on my credit cause they closed my account for inactivity but if u update your system to 2021 n not 1919 u would be better off... Fingerhut needs to Grow up...

It all started by applying for a fingerhut credit account.My credit score was 642 fair, But was working on it and improving.Was approved for the fingerhutt fresh start.Once I got approved,My credit score dropped from 642 to 498.I've made a small purchase and made my monthly payments on time and paid off in full.I had graduated and my fresh start account was closed by fingerhut and there was another dropped on my credit score.Was upgraded to the fingerhut advantage credit account.There was another dropped on my credit score from 494 to 148.This was very upseting.What appears to me is that fingerhut are taking avantage by approving people with poor to fair credit scores and having their credit scores dropped dramatically.This individuals will more likely be left with no choice but to start all over again to work on their credit score while fingerhut sits back and collects by charging double and triple the prices on the same items compared to Amazon and other online stores which could save costumers double or couple of hundreds of dollars on the same items.Not to mention other outrages fees on purchases that fingerhutt are charging on costumers.At the checkout,fees will eventually increases according to my researches.Fingerhut has being making costumers credit scores from bad to worst.This is how fingerhutt works.I had done some research online and found that fingerhutt doesn't provide information on what's the real deal is.I have great regrets for applying for fingerhutt.I would close my account if I could,but there will be another dramatic dropped on my credit score.

WE paid it to get it taken care and clear up credit, 3 months later, still showing as a charge off and Fingerhut said they can't do anything and it will remain on credit as a charge off for 7 years. OMG!!! Up till now I've never had any issues with anything I've purchased from fingerhut. The one time I decide to make a big purchase the quality of the furniture is garbage. I made a complaint when I first unboxed it and a lot of the wood was chipped. I couldn't return it because the guy had already put it together for me. Soon as I put a few things in the drawers the front fell off. The wood is so soft till it will not hold the screws in. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FURNITURE FROM FINGERHUT!!!!

I began my nightmare with Fingerhut at the beginning of the Pandemic (Mar 2020) of last year. I was approved for the Fingerhut Fresh Start Program and ordered a DVD/CD Vehicle Sound System. I have two issues I want to review about my experiences with Fingerhut. It all began when the Stereo I bought from Fingerhut started to malfunction. I called Fingerhut several times and emailed them pertaining to this issue. Due to the Pandemic I assume many of Fingerhut s Customer Service Team were out of work. Considering even FedEx, UPS, etc were all facing the same Covid restrictions I decided I'd try to return the stereo the moment I was able to. Well by the time things were beginning to run again Fingerhut decided they would refuse to allow me to return the broken stereo they sent me. I complained all the way up to a manager and tried explaining that it was impossible to return the stereo in the middle of the pandemic. I eventually had to report this issue to The BBB and Fingerhuts Response was simply a standard response of stating their return policies. Although I was EXTREMELY UPSET I still continued to pay every payment on time and paid extra on many of the payments. A couple of months ago I paid the final payment and figured at the least that it would help my credit. You'll be amazed at what Fingerhut does to me next after paying for their expensive JUNK and expensive credit. They not only closed the account (on my credit) they also denied me the "Graduation" to a revolving Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account" due to (UNBELIEVABLE) them claiming I was late on a payment!! Which was an ABSURD LIE that is so easily disputed! I have my entire payment history on my end and Fingerhut also stated on my credit report that I paid ALL payments on time! I knew immediately that this was clear retaliation for discussing my issue about Fingerhut publicly to the BBB. I feel like this must be illegal and I fully intend on reporting Fingerhut to the Consumer Protection... Whatever it is called. I am writing this review because I feel people should know what a horrible cheat this corporation is! AVOID FINGERHUT AT ALL COSTS! I suggest using Stoneberry. Com and/or Montgomery Wards. Fingerhut is in bankruptcy protection anyways certainly for being a scam of a corporation!!

I cannot believe how bad Fingerhut has went downhill. I use to love to order from them and after this order I will NEVER ever order from them again. My item was supposed to be here a week ago and never showed up since then I have gotten the run around over and over and over again. Then they told me the item was here in my city and if I wanted now I can go pick it up myself lol. Well when I finally decided and learned that was going to be the best opition I called to get the location of it and not only did no one know where it was but then I am told they had no drivers at one location so sent my item to another location that they REFUSED to give me the address or number to for me to pick up my item but then tell me it'll now HOPEFULLY be to me by the end of this week. WHAT???? I thought Fingerhut was professional and polite people for so long and each order only gets worse!! They blow up my email send me catalogs to my home back to back keep raising my credit limit because I am a hard working paying on time customer even through Covid I never missed a payment and they plain out refuse to get my item to mw after giving me a date it would be there. All they want to say is I am sorry from 50 different employee's who are not sorry they just want you off the phone. This is beyond unprofessional and I am so dissappointed because I really thought this was a good company!!! This is crazy and I have learned my lesson they lost a GREAT CUSTOMER!!!!!

Try to change your due date, hahaha. My payments were being made but two days past my due date, as soon as disability hit my bank account. For two days they charged me late fees equal to all but $2 of my payments. I explained my situation and asked for a change of due date. They refuse. So I quit paying. Major BS, avoid. They claim to help fix your credit rating when in reality they beat it up.

I paid $1,000 (with my credit) for a phone that's only good in Panama. Since I couldn't use it, (I live in the US), I returned it. When they received it, they told me it was non-returnable. I had two choices: pay for the item or refuse to pay for the item. This item was not as advertised so I refused to pay for it, tarnishing my credit. They still have the original phone. I filed a BBB complaint, and they were deceptive as ever claiming that I returned it because I 'did not like them item'. BBB was just as bad, claiming that they acted in 'good faith'. And here's the deal with the credit bureaus to date: Experian deleted the collection account, Transunion closed it, and Equifax has not deleted anything. I would not recommend these scammers.
