I recently took out home insurance for my 1970s house valued at around £298,000, and overall Iâm quite satisfied with the deal. At £30 per month, the price feels fair and within the expected range for this type of property and area.
The process was straightforward, and the policy seems to provide solid coverage, including both buildings and contents. I especially appreciate the peace of mind knowing that standard risks are covered without the cost being too high.
While I think there may be slightly cheaper options available if I spent more time comparing, this policy offers a good balance between price and protection. As long as the excess and coverage limits are reasonable, I would consider this a reliable and worthwhile choice.
Overall, a good value policy that Iâd recommend for similar homes.

I didnt need to go into lots of in-depth information to get a price for my house insurance. James explained how insurers operate and gave me peace of mind I had a good policy with full cover at a reasonable price. It is reassuring to know that at renewal time a review will be carried out in case a more cost effective insurer can be found.
