I bought a pair of men's "waterproof" walking shoes last year for daily use and am disappointed with them. They are quite stylish but the "waterproofing" lasted only a very short time before splits occurred to the sole, sturdy as it looked. The shoe is comfortable but most definitely not waterproof. The value for money aspect is very poor.

I've bought Gelert WALKING SOCKS , for many years, not a bad sock, did the job. Last year the majority of the sock was Cotton 68 %, a natural material which allows feet to breath. Bought some today, assumed they were the same sock, however when I got home , it became apparent that the Cotten content had been REDUCED to 15% !! . Replaced with 82% Polyester, a synthetic material, with doesn't let the feet breath.....So now your feet will sweat like hell and stink!!

I'm surprised at the poor reviews. I'm looking because I want a bigger rucksack for hiking, I've had a gelert 25 for years and used it as a day bag for work so chucked in the van, I've taken it on more Hikes than I can begin to think of and there's not one single fault with it! It's literally as good as the day I bought it. I'll happily buy another exactly the same but scaled up in size. This smaller one will last many more years on my shorter Hikes.

Brought a pair of Gelert Rocky WP hiking trainers advertised has robust waterproof walking trainers.
I only used them for walking the our dog. Brought them in April 2023 and by the end of May the soles were breaking up and letting in water. I only walk the dog over grassy fields and public foot paths Not over rough terrain as their publicity photos show.

After 6 weeks of wearing outdoor shoes by Gelert the sole separated and they looked wrecked

Before Christmas 2022 I purchased my 1st pair of Gelert waterproof shoes. I wasnt expecting much as so cheap but oh my word. the best shoes I have ever bought. I do a lot of walking in all weathers and these have been a total game changer. So much so I then purchased a second pair and the boots. Absolutley great. Well recommended

Bought a pair of WATERPROOF Gelert Walking Shoes 9 months ago from Sports Direct. Only worn them about 7 or 8 times. Both feet were soaking during a moderate downpour and before that right foot soaked through just walking on wet grass.
The store manager agreed they were faulty but because it was over 6 months I had to go through Head Office for a credit note.....but I got REJECTED!
Now bought a more expensive pair of Karrimoor Shoes that look superb....lets hope I have more luck with those.

No heel support after 1 month of use,and painful on the heels ,I won't be buying again.

My Gelert boots have a label saying they are leather.
As the uppers are coming away from the sole on both, and the uppers are split in the left boot, it is clearly visible that, whatever they are made of, it isn't leather.
Won't be buying anything made by this company again.

Bought some waterproof walking shoes from Sports Direct. Less than 3 months wear (not even on the hills yet, just light wear round town) and one shoe has completely come apart at the seams. Their customer service is shockingly bad and just copy and paste pat answers refusing to deal with the issue. Gone round in circles with them so giving up and never buying a pair of Gelert shoes again.

Bought a pair of gelert soft shell walking shoes, after about ninety hours of walking in the shoes, the heels are wearing rapidly and showing holes, a bit disappointed really, on the whole a comfy shoe, but not going to last four months, don't think I'll buy another pair.

Bought a pair of fur lined gelert welly boots and within two months the started splitting at the seems around the foot. My daughter also had the same wellies and exactly the same thing happened

Only lasted 2 weeks cheap rubbish like everything sports direct sell

walking shoes lasted less than 6 months totally falling apart second pair to do so, very poor quality will be the last time buying this brand.

DO NOT get Gelert walkingboots!. THESE ARE NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL!. Complete waste of money & Feet are soaked in even sports Direct are are total SHAM!, DO NOT even deserve 1*. False advertising as these boots have wrote on their boots Waterproof & they NOT!

Bought Gelert waterproof walking shoes in May 2022 .A few weeks ago {Nov 2022].whilst walking along a wet pavement after rain I noticed a squishy sound coming from the right shoe and took it off at work and noticed my sock was soaking wet. The bottom of the shoe had split and was absorbing water. Considering I don’t always wear these shoes and wear another pair more than these. They haven’t lasted very long. Would never buy the make again. 👎

I have been buying Gelert Horizon Waterproof shoes and boots for many years, and am very glad that they are still available. They obviously have signs of wear after about 3 years, but they never stop being waterproof in my experience. They are also comfortable and give your feet stable support.

I had a pair of waterproof boots bought for my birthday a few days ago. I wore them out shopping when it was raining and by the time i got home my feet, mainly around the toes were wet. They are comfortable but i wouldnt say waterproof regardless of what they claim.

Not sure Gelert can improve, brought so called 'waterproof' boots from Sports Direct, failed after a couple of weeks, got an exchange for same/new one's, same story with general walking use the second pair have now failed leaking via the weak badly designed and manufactured sole. Will never use Gelert brand or Sports Direct again, I'm a service veteran and war pensioner and can't afford to waste money on rubbish footwear.
