Very disappointing experience with Hotwire. They heavily promote themselves as a last-minute deal service, but the reality was misleading and frustrating.

We specifically selected city center as our location preference, yet Hotwire issued us a hotel 8.5 km away from the city center. That is not “city center” by any reasonable definition — it completely defeats the purpose of booking accommodation for convenience and accessibility.

If location filters are ignored, then the service becomes unreliable and borderline deceptive. A cheap price means nothing when you’re stuck far outside the city with added transport costs and wasted time.

This experience seriously undermines trust in Hotwire’s platform. If location matters to you, think twice before booking.

I contacted hot wire initially through our account manager. Tanya requested that I text her relating to an extra WiFi unit that had to be provided vecause Hotwire's equipment was unable to give my condo a full wi.Fi coverage. Tanya never responded even though she had told me to reach out to her at this time of year. I reached out to hot liar and they hung up on me because they didn't know anything about it because Tanya must work for the hoa, which she of course, does not. Therefore, they intend to bill me for equipment that they have to provide because of their woefully weak internet wifi service. They are doing this instead of honoring the complimentary equipment they promised to renew annually.

Our HOA switched over to Hotwire over the summer of 2025 from Xfinity hardwired service. They promised great wireless service and it is far from the truth. I get an average 10 to 15 minutes of spinning arrows and lag on every hour show I watch.

HOTWIRE IS THE WORST OF THE WORST. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE HECK THEY CAN EVEN STAY IN BUSINESS. HOTWIRE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. JUST ENOUGH TO PISS YOU OFF. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!!! I AM CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!! ALL IT TAKES IS 1 CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO TAKE THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY DOWN AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I DO!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH HOTWIRE!!!!

They double charged us for a rental car. Claimed it was a system glitch: and when we called the next day they said the second charge (which was pending) would not stay. Well it did, and when we called back, they basically said their was nothing they could do to refund the mistake and they were going to keep the $113.55. We had to go through our bank (still processing it). I cannot believe a company would steal $113.55 from someone, but then again I guess I never delt with hotwire.

Wrong hotel stars rating. Terrible service from hotel staff and Terrible customer service on the phone with hotwire. Will never book a hotel through them again.

All I wanted to do add two boosters seats to my reservation.
I agreed to pay for them. NOPE They would not let me add them hence, putting my grandchildren in danger.

They simply did not care. It's all a scam and greed.

paid over $300 for a rental car. they didn't have one at the airport "because of the government shutdown." had to have a friend drive me home (over an hour out of her way).
reached out multiple times asking for a refund.
alas.
no car. no refund. never using them again.

Total scam. When you try to book a hotel with this company it does not tell you if its in USD or CAD only after you put the transaction through, then it says USD. DONT USE

It tricks you, is kind of scam showing big brand and high star but after booking it reveals you small low grade brand. You cannot trust, shame you Hotwire aka Expedia!

I had paid for a trip but had to cancel it. They kept my money and charged me a cancellation fee. And the did not advise me that after a year your account goes to 0$. I’m out 400USD. SCAM.

Hotwire messed up my flights . I used them to book a round trip to Mexico City . On my way back I had to purchase tickets because according to to AeroMexico my return flight was cancelled . When I contacted Hotwire they all play dumb . No one called back . 900 dollars wasted using Hotwire. I wouldn’t recommend it . They’ll mess up and not give a damn about.

July 2025 I paid Hotwire $167.36 for 2 nights (Oct 4 and 5) at Boma Nairobi Hotel. When I arrived I found that my reservation was cancelled because Hotwire had not paid the required two days in advance. Texting with Hotwire customer spt they would not stand behind the reservation leaving me without a hotel in Nairobi. I then had to pay $230 direct to hotel for the two nights. Hotwire says I will get my $167.36 back but I want the price I had to pay! I should not lose $62.64 because Hotwire didn’t forward my money to the hotel.

Me robaron varias veces dinero con el sistema de cambiarte la fecha internamente cuando rebota la tarjeta. Estén muy atentos porque es el modo en el que haN caído otros usuarios en la misma trampa y hotwire se queda con la cuota por cancelación del error que voluntariamente provocan. Unos chantas

I booked a room through Hotwire, and on the confirmation email, check out time was listed as 'before noon'. So, we figured we'd leave about 11:30. At exactly 11:00, housekeeping knocked on our door and asked if planned on staying another night because check out is at 11. We had to pack quickly, then run down to the front desk so we wouldn't get charged for a second night. Hotwire customer service couldn't care less, and just reiterated that their email said 'before noon', and not 'noon'. So, apparently, before noon means an HOUR before noon?

This website has gone downhill! You used to be able to get great deals and wonderful hotels now the deals are only about 20% off the price but then they charge you for other things. The four star hotels I really like three star hotels very basic. I would book through the hotel directly because then you get points.I stayed at the marina del Rey Doubletree. It was definitely a three star hotel very basic room little bit dirty on the floor smelled a plain solution. Lobby was nice and even to get into the hotel was that clearly marked.

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. THE QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN . YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT YOUR PROMISED. I BOOKED A HOTEL IN SCOTTSDALE AND ENDED UP IN PHOENIX WITH A QUESTIONABLE 5 STAR HOTEL. FOR THEIR OWN ERROR, THEY WILL TELL YOU TO PAY A $40.00 FEE, AND DEPOSIT YOUR MONEY BACK TO USE ANOTHER HOTWIRE PROPERTY. RUN. USE ANOTHER BOOKING SITE WITH EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS AT THIS RATE.
