I booked an accommodation in canary wharf called Ark (20) via Hotwire. The price was higher than advertised but the bigger issue was it was for over 18s only and we had a child. Hotwire refused to respond to contact and didn’t provide evidence to the credit card company that they have been refunded. The still have my money. This is appalling behaviour

Hotel called 911 & I was hospitalized for 10 days… Hotwire refuse to credit my card keep offering credit to use with in a year.NO BUENOOOOO…give me my $$$. I will never use Hotwire again

Hotwire flight are scamer. I tried booking a flight on Jan 15 2025 and it says my debit card was declined and I tried many times, it countinued to say my debit card was declined and I have money in my account, but the next day Hotwire had debited my bank account 8 times and refused to reverse the transactions.

I booked with them at 7am because i needed a room. Come to find out at the hotel that check in was at 5pm and there was a list. So it might be later. Contacted these criminals (mind you there are in another country so its easier to be able to steal your money) told them i wanted to cancel cause i needed a hotel room at that time not 10 hours later . There was no check in times on the itinerary at all. They told me they would return my money with a 20 dollar cancellation fee. I agreed cause i just wanted a room. After 10 days of seeing the charge on my credit card i contacted them and they told me the funds were credited to their " hotwire bucks" . Which is again another scam. Just to again be tricked into using their service to get robbed again of your money. They never gave me back my money. DO NOT USE HOTWIRE.COM!!!! ITS A SCAM AND THEY WILL ROB YOU OF YOUR MONEY AND NOT CARE ONE BIT. They use people in other countries to run it so there is no way they can get in trouble when they steal from you.

O site hotwire faz vendas de hospedagens com propaganda enganosa. Estava procurando um hotel para ficar no Rio de Janeiro, em uma viagem do dia 17/04 ao dia 20/04 e me deparei com este site que faz “sorteios”. Achei interessante, entrei. Nas opções disponíveis haviam 3 hotéis: Villa Rio, Brisa Barra e Plaza Barra First. Começa por aí a enganação: o valor da hospedagem no Villa Rio para a data em questão, era de 5.500 dólares, do Brisa Barra cerca de 1.700 dólares e o Praza Barra First 420 dólares. Eles atraem as pessoas com propaganda falsa de hotéis, induzindo a possibilidade de ficar hospedado no Villa Rio e no Brisa Barra por exemplo, sendo mentira.
A segunda enganação é que dizem na página de compra que se você encontrar uma tarifa de menor valor, você será reembolsado. Encontrei em 3 sites ofertas menores, entrei no chat online da hotwire e enviei as ofertas pedindo meu reembolso da diferença. Nesse momento eu já estava muito frustrada pois fui ler os comentários da empresa e todos são péssimos! Para piorar, se recusaram a cobrir as 3 ofertas enviadas alegando os seguintes motivos:
- A primeira de 428 dólares, 56 dólares de diferença: “a opção que você enviou tem 2 camas de solteiro e não uma de casal como na reserva, é preciso ser igual.”
- A segunda, de 446 dólares, 22 dólares de diferença: “essa cama de casal que você enviou é tamanho queen, não serve”. Provei ao atendente que cama queen é cama de casal, ele responde concordando e pedindo desculpas pelo engano, mas alegando que ainda assim não poderia fazer o reembolso pois enviei uma comparação no qual haviam 3 hóspedes e minha reserva foi para 4. Traduzi então a página e enviei o link, mostrando que o número 3 era para a quantidade de noites e o número de pessoas por quarto estava ao lado do ícone de pessoa, escrito 2, e abaixo, o número de quartos indicando também 2 quartos. O atendente então verifica e pede desculpa pela confusão e diz que ainda assim não poderia devolver a diferença porque a cama era queen (mesmo antes falando que verificou que cama queen era cama de casal).
- A terceira opção era o site do próprio hotel, que eu enviei também mostrando valor menor, mas foi ignorado.
Em todos esses questionamentos, eu mostrava no site do hotel que não havia diferença para 2 camas de solteiro ou uma cama de casal, que o hotel baseava os valores de acordo com a categoria do quarto que no caso era superior, e eles seguiram agindo de má fé.
Vale lembrar também que no início do atendimento, foi me perguntado se eu gostaria que entrassem em contato com o hotel pedindo meu cancelamento e eu disse que sim. Mas, me responderam que o hotel se recusou a cancelar.
Este hotel fica no Brasil, eu sou brasileira, e no Brasil, existe a lei do arrependimento onde você pode se arrepender nas primeiras 24 horas de uma compra / reserva feita on-line sem justificar o motivo. Achei estranho o hotel ter se recusado a cancelar, e entrei em contato com eles. A empresa me enganou mais uma vez e não entrou em contato com o hotel pedindo cancelamento, até porque, eles fizeram a reserva pelo expedia.

Para que ninguém tome golpe e seja enganado como eu, deixo aqui meu relato.

Dont you ever by tickets from this people, bought a ticket from Houston to Seattle was an hour early at the airport could not get my ticket from frontier airlines could not get help from either of them lost my money and had to buy another one and got ripped off another 450$ when the actual price was 299 so I've had my share of their bs so never again 😞

Die Kommunikation ist irreführend, so waren nach Berechnung sämtlicher steuerlichen Abgaben keine Rabatte mehr ersichtlich und ich hätte direkt beim Hotel oder auf anderen Plattformen buchen können.
Interessanterweise nutzt Hotwire zufälligerweise ein eigenes Hotel Sterne-Bewertungssystem, das zufälligerweise auch bis auf 5 Sterne geht. Soll heissen hier fühlt es sich zumindest für mich als Kunden irreführend an. So habe ich beispielsweise 5* bei hotwire gebucht, und der Aufenthalt war knapp ein 4*, ein altes Hotel das mittlerweise sogar den Spa Bereich ausgelagert hat. Natürlich war kommuniziert, dass es ein Angebot mit Spa ist, die täglichen Kosten von +20 USD für die Nutzungsgebühr des "externen" Spas wurden natürlich nicht kommuniziert. Danke, und nie wieder.

P.S. Die Bewertungsabgabe am Schluss funktioniert nicht. Zumindest für negatives Feedback nicht.

Booked 5 flights. Adoption finalized unexpectedly before flight. They are not adoption friendly. We’ve spent a little over 40 hours trying to change the name. They have now cancelled part of our flight and keep telling us they’ll rebook. It’s been a month. So now we have hotels booked, but no flights but still out $3,500. Virgin and Delta both advised the same. Hotwire needs to apply the waiver code given and assign seats. Hotwire can’t figure out how to do it so we may be out $3,500 in flights and $3,000 in hotels.

Biggest rip off ever !!! They advertised a $1000 hotel room for 87% off. Wow what a deal right? No i get to the hotel and got a standard room. It would have been cheaper to book with the hotel directly for the room i actually paid more woth hotwire !! Big fat liars!! They wouldn't do anything about it except tell me to go to another hotel. No credit no chance to even attempt to make it right. Just a big too bad . Do not use !!

I have never been on a sketchier website. Any travel site will display local currency when booking. I booked a room, then my credit card billed me in USD and when I was booking nowhere did it show that it wasn’t in local currency or notify that it was USD. It ended up being tiny fine print at the bottom after checkout. I called customer service to ask and the agent was so rude and condescending and I offered to send screenshots and she kept dismissing me. Literally save yourself the trouble, go to Booking.com

I gave it one star because they are a fraudulent company, they hide charges, they have their own privacy policies and those who rent the cars have another one, they charged me for the car rental, and they did not give me my money back and I did not have the car either, they simply stole the money. But I will never use this company again, they are a fraud.

Do not use this website. They are the biggest thieves ever. Hotels do not charge cancellations but Thu do and they keep your hard working money. They need to be investigated and sue.

Overall garbage customer service, they do nothing to help you.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent experience. Last Friday, we arrived at the hotel in Miami at 9:30 PM with hotel itinerary number 5157242838, only to be informed that the hotel was closed due to a fire and undergoing renovations. We immediately contacted customer service and spent 23 minutes on the phone, repeatedly stating the itinerary number, only to be told that they couldn't find our reservation and could not offer any solution. That night, we had to find another hotel at the last minute and pay again, without any assistance from Hotwire. This is not only unacceptable and disrespectful, but also feels like a scam

I have used Hotwire for years and due to the recent wild fires in poor air quality, I reached out to Hotwire to see if i could get a credit or refund despite booking a non refundable rental reservation for $131.00 for a day and a half. In this situation a credit or even half refund would have been great. I opted to not travel to Los Angeles this Saturday 1/18/25 for health reasons. I spoke to 3 reps and they acted as if they were trying to accommodate, to tell me the same denial response.

I am extremely disappointed with Hotwire I’d never use Hotwire site as it’s untrustworthy.
Book directly to the hotel and don’t believe Hotwire lies so you won’t be double charged.
Hot wire should reimburse me the total amount additionally charged by the hotel.
They should be out of business .

Easirent was a joke. Totally sketchy. The shuttle hotwire suggested did not even go to the rental place. We found a shuttle that did. Easirent was in a run down hotel, VERY sketchy. They told us they didn't have any cars available and were overbooked. Then they said they had cars, but they needed oil changes. Then they offered us a Nissan leaf when we were supposed to have a Hyundai Santa Fe or equivalent. I will never use Hotwire again if they don't vet the companies they recommend.

reserved a car in san diego. thrifty "ran out" of cars and left me stranded with 2 small children, only to get ripped off by another agency that had a car... and this was after waiting in the agency line for 90 minutes. this "pending availability" thing they do should be illegal. id love to see a class action lawsuit to this effect so people aren't stranded in a strange city without transpiration. will NEVER use hotwire or thrifty again.
