I have been a Motability customer for over two years and the service from the outset and for a service has been first class. Yesterday after a car wash elsewhere in the city, I noticed a number plate mounting screw was missing and the plate was hanging off. I called the parts department and explained my predicament given I was travelling to England the next day. Kyle in the parts department explained to come in as he had the part. I arrived just after 5pm and got Kyle straight away. He went above and beyond and came out to the car park and then returned and fitted my number plate securely. So polite, professional with an encyclopaedic mind. What a fine young man and sent me on my way wishing me a safe and enjoyable trip. What a credit to his employer and a rare find. Brilliant

My first experience was not positive. However, they exceeded my expectations and did everything they could to change my opinion in a positive direction. On my second visit, I felt like I was a deluxe priority customer. I hope the next 3 years will prove this. I especially give 5 stars to James Allen, who was professional, kind, patient and helpful throughout! Thank you!

Great service, polite staff

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with John Clark Nissan Aberdeen. Shortly after purchasing my vehicle, I encountered numerous issues that raised serious concerns about both the car’s quality and the dealership’s integrity.

One of the key selling points during the purchase was being welcomed into the so-called “Nissan family,” with promises of exclusive perks, ongoing support, and a premium customer experience. In reality, these claims turned out to be completely misleading. The supposed benefits were either exaggerated or never materialized at all.

Things got significantly worse when the car required repairs. The vehicle was in the garage for around 5 to 6 weeks, and throughout that time, communication was incredibly poor. I was constantly chasing for updates, receiving very little clarity or useful information. The lack of transparency was unacceptable.

To make matters worse, I was told to continue driving the vehicle despite warning engine lights being on—something I found not only unprofessional but genuinely unsafe.

Like many in Aberdeen, I work offshore, and this entire situation added a huge amount of stress. While I was away, it was often my partner who had to deal with the back-and-forth, delays, and lack of support from the dealership. I also had to deal with the anxiety of knowing that my young son was being driven in a vehicle that might not have been 100% safe. That’s not a situation any parent should be put in—especially not after buying a car from a main dealer, with the expectation of reliability and peace of mind.

During the extended repair periods, hire car arrangements were a constant struggle. Despite paying monthly for a Nissan X-Trail, we were routinely provided with vehicles that were significantly lower in value and class, often small, basic cars that didn’t meet our needs. It felt like we were paying for a premium experience and receiving the bare minimum in return.

Despite everything we went through, we were never really offered any form of compensation. Aside from a slightly extended warranty period—which felt like the bare minimum considering the car was rarely out of the garage—we received nothing. We even submitted an official complaint, but this was essentially dismissed and we were knocked back, which just added further frustration to an already exhausting experience.

We have since exchanged the vehicle and are now completely away from the John Clark Group. The entire experience was one of the worst we've had when purchasing a vehicle, and it’s not something we would ever want to repeat.

Under no circumstances would we recommend John Clark to anyone, and we would strongly warn others to avoid them entirely. The service we received was unacceptable from start to finish, and no one should have to go through what we did.

Toms Lagzdins at the Aberdeen Autoplex branch has been excellent helping with my recent business purchase of a Nissan vehicle - quickly and easily sourcing the right car at the right price for me.

Toms was always professional, honest and diligent and has a great customer focus not just at the initial enquiry but throughout the entire sales process and with great aftercare and follow up when I picked the vehicle up.

Toms is a great asset to your business and I would heartily recommend him to deal with both for my work colleagues and family members- I look forward to dealing with him in the future.

When I came to look at cars Tom's came to see if he could help as per usual, he was very helpful and polite. I looked at a couple of cars and my wife and I took a test drive.we came back the following day and decided to buy said car. After going through all the paperwork etc I was told how muchi would pay per month,which I agreed to. But by the time I went back to my car they called me back and said that there was a mistake on what my payments would be, as there was a glitch on there PC which I really wasn't happy about.Toms went and spoke to someone and we finally came to an agreement. But I must insist that it was not anyone to blame as I said it was your computer at fault. I only have good things to say about Tom's,he went above and beyond what he needed to do to make sure I was happy with the service I got. Mr J Gray

Definitely not the service I expected from John Clark Motor Group
Have been a customer for many years (BMW, AUDI & recently NISSAN) however this purchase has been shocking!!!! Definitely won’t be back.
From start to finish horrendous! Not helpful in anyway whatsoever. So very disappointing from a motor group that used to one of the best!

The sat nav stopped worked in my car, so I contacted John Clark who said it probably needed an update. I booked it in and they confirmed the appointment the day before. I took it in for 8am waited 2.5hrs, they confirmed it did need an update but the only person in the whole service who could do the update wasn't working that day. Two hour round trip to drive there plus the wait was complete waste of time.
They knew what update would be needed but never contacted me to say they wouldn't be able to do it the day I had booked in the car.

Gave 5 star rating because john clark team were fantastic in helping us purchase our nissan qashqai

The whole experience from test drive to buying my Juke was brilliant. Josh was so patient, knowledgeable and friendly made the whole thing enjoyable!

Josh was very helpful and informative and explained everything about my new car he also sorted out some IT issues relating to the signing of documents

Considering I was buying my car remotely the purchase was all very straight forward. This included getting a comprehensive video sent through of the car. Getting a valuation of my trade in and a deal was done to purchase the car. Matthew met me in Dundee (Half way between us) at John Clark BMW where we done the handover. Very pleased with the service.
