Sandy Glade is home to a furry event known as "Furcation" - The event is home to abusive individuals that appear to be under protection by the head of Furcation due to personal relations. I was banned from attending this after speaking out about it not only to Furcation but also on social media. I have shown JF proof of damage to my mental health as a result but they appear to be ok with the event running still.

Not family friendly, not as they describe

Not family friendly. Stayed 7 nights if I could've found another park I would've left on day 1. Night 1 family across 4 chalets rowdy and loud past midnight. Night 2 adults fighting in middle of park. Kids entertainment advertised from 6-8:30 in reality it's meet a character at 6 then 6:30-7 some games. Daytime entertainment also poor half stuff missing yet charged full price and your left to do it alone often running extremely late. One ran 20mins late and only started when my daughter asked. Arcades run down and some not working. Pool has visible mould on steps and in baby pool only get 1 x 50mins session a day and that includes getting changed to get in pool. Stripeys attitudes stink snapping at kids stating I'm on edge today because they spilt sand doing sand art reception staff having manicures done instead of working. In caravan Drains blocked so couldn't use shower mould round bathroom several draws broken. Shop and cafe closed same times during days so no option but to go off site between 12-5 to eat. Really poor experience but my kids didn't understand and got upset when we suggested going home. It's great that dogs are allowed accept owners don't care and leave them in chalets so u have to listen to endless barking or have dogs kumpi and barking at doors when u walk past which is not great highly recommend u avoid and do not book unless u want a caravan holiday where you do nothing definitely not ideal for young families who are looking to have child friendly activities to do on site. Have booked next holiday at haven I regret trying something new with John fowlers and will not recommend to anyone.

On entering the caravan park it looked lovely. Well maintained. Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. Arrived at caravan our heart sank . Over £800 and we were greeted to what can only been described as filthy . The door to the caravan absolutely appalling. It didn't get any better when we went in. It smelt awful. Curtains hanging off . Mould and rust everywhere . No bedding , we had to go back to Reception, still wrong bedding sent but we made do because by that time we'd lost the heart . Empty toothpaste container found , nappy bags left , and sprouting potatoe. Shower around the tap was thick with hair . Everything we touched felt greezy. No wifi , no phone signal or data signal . It didn't get any better , swimming pool always full we managed to book one slot in the 7 days there . The club entertainment absolutely rubbish and the volume deafing. Prices outrageous. Staff minus the kids and bingo collection point were full of self importance. Male barman very rude and absolutely ruined our holiday. 3 days of chainsaws right next to us . We had to go out , couldn't relax with that noise . Arcade not worth going to. Shop understocked. Will never return here . John Fowler you really need to get this sorted

Awful place never stay here shocking accommodation and they are not fit for anyone to stay in , over crowded short staffed as all cleaners left 2 weeks ago General Manager Christina at St Ives Holiday Village lied to us as we were promised a refund for our disgusting chalet and we never got it so she is a liar and can't be trusted ruined my child's holiday no memories created here just awful...If you like the smell of bleach and dog poo and the smell of smoke that's in the curtains and floor to the point it makes you physically sick

Killigarth manor caravan park- stepping back in time. Really disappointed with the lack of


Really disappointed with the lack of friendliness of this caravan park. Like many people, it’s our first holiday in 3 years.
The staff all need to be retrained and realise that we are actually paying their wages by using the facilities.
The arrival & departure times changed the week before we were due to arrive.
We had to book swimming times, which was fine, but the attitude of the life guards left a lot to be desired - unprofessional and officious.
The entertainment was at best, poor. The girl with the spider eyelashes and no personality was well suited to be a kids entertainer. Pity she couldn’t keep the kids entertained.
Booked into the restaurant- there was only one lady taking orders - This very same waitress came up to us after sitting down for 25 mins to ask if anyone had taken our order whilst she had been on her break. We placed our order to be told the charcoal chicken ran out a few days ago. She didn't understand the different menus- take away or Restaurant. We have been waiting for over 40minutes for our order- sat down for nearly an hour. Someone has finally taken a drinks order. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again - Ever!

No loyalty!
Been going to John Fowler for 20 years with all the family. Had a family emergency my Dad was rushed into hospital with a gallbladder infection and sepsis 3days before we were due to go. Took out their holiday protection plan which turns out to be useless. We had 2 caravans as we go as a family and my Dad has vascular dementia so needs his own space. The policy offered 25% minus deposit and holiday protection but only on the one caravan that my dad would have been in. So we’ve spent £1500 for 4 nights and will get back £200. I explained we are exceptionally loyal customers and asked if they could transfer the holiday. They refused to do anything except try and resell the holiday which is doubtful due to the short notice.
My friend had started to go to John Fowler as l said how scenic the Killigarth site was but she had to cancel last year as her Dad died. They also gave her nothing saying well your Dad wasn’t booked to go!!!
Not understanding she couldn’t go then as her mum and family were distraught.
This use to be a well run kind family business I’m appalled by their lack of compassion now.
Book, go, enjoy Cornwall but pray you don’t have an unexpected emergency because even with their holiday plan you won’t get anything back especially not compassion.

Wouldn’t even give it one star .

I cannot wait to leave in the morning. The platinum lodge with hot tub was not clean, I decided to wash the hard floors by hand after seeing tea/coffee splashes and was shocked at the filth from the kitchen and bathroom floor these clearly have not been moped in a while.

Dried urine on toilet seat.

On arrival we witnessed a member of staff being told off very publicly.

Reception staff member booking us in seemed robotic and not very welcoming.

On the day of arrival after a long trip we wanted to use the pool but we could not you have to book the night before yet this was not explained so we missed out on a days swimming that we had paid for. The pool is nothing more than a small hut.

There is no air con or sitting areas on site to relax in the sun.

The bins are al overflowing causing swarms of seagulls and rats.

Half the arcade machines don’t work for the children they are turned off or faulty and after spending a fortune getting tickets there isn’t a member of staff to exchange them 🀬.

I would not return or recommend this park stuck to haven and pay that but more to enjoy your holiday because this place is nothing more than a dirty camp site in the middle of the woods.

Advice would be to dee clean all areas, staff it correctly, spend the fortune you are making to update and upgrade the facilities for the kids to actually enjoy it and pay the staff more.

We have been to trelawne manor in looe a few times ,but we always booked with a private caravan owner .As this was going to be a last minute holiday as we have not been away since before lock down there were few private caravans available.We are 2 elderly people and still a bit afraid of venturing out especially for a holiday.So we booked with John Fowler.We booked a 2 bed gold caravan .They were advertised as their newer caravans with stylish interiors.Where do I start .We arrived went in the caravan it smelt terrible,we opened all the windows ,all the surfaces were marked the fridge,the microwave,the cooker all had finger marks on them .So we set about cleaning them and disenfecting everything.We thought the standard of cleaning would have been paramount considering the covid .We then went into the toilets and found pubic hair on the toilet and toothpaste on the sinks which was not acceptable.So we cleaned both toilets.We then sat down on the settee and sank into it as the settee was worn out .We proceeded to go to bed as we had travelled a good journey to get there .We have never in our lives experienced a bed like it .The mattress was full of springs and the mattress was placed on some slats of wood.By this time it was late and the reception was shut for us to complain.We had had enough by this time and what we thought would be a lovely well maintained caravan was utterly disappointing.We got up in the middle of the night and packed up and came home absolutely exhausted and very disappointed.We sent an email to John Fowler and never received an answer .So we would not recommend John Fowler trelawne manor to no one .Never again .

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking, stayed at brean sands and paid 900 for a week with a pet.
Wanted to cry when we arrived.
Chalets rotten, swimming pool tiny and life guard on phones whole time, nothing at all on site, arcade is more like a tiny room with one working machine.
Don’t bother!
The entertainment was terrible, nothing for kids to do

South bay holiday park we've stayed here numerous times over 10yrs site is always clean and tidy and many improvements been done ,the staff are always friendly from Steve in maintenance down to Georgia in the bar and Nina in the shop ,the onsite cafe has improved so much .we've already booked to go again next year

John fowlers in bude.This is the worse holiday I have ever experienced there has been no water in the main shower block for over 4 hours there have been more than 50 people wanting to take a shower but can't.The alternative shower block has two showers that are very out dated the drains are blocked and full of dead bugs and freezing cold water.There were young children with shampoo left in there hair and all the manager could say was the tank has run out of water due to them being busy.If they can't provide the facilities they should not be taking peoples money.What kind of customer service is this I've never meet anyone so rude as the manager here.

John foul err

Not even got there yet but less than a week after making a booking,an issue popped up and we requested to change the dates to a week later. We checked availability first and they have availability but declined to changed the dates so my son will now miss out on his first holiday this year due to work and his job because John foul err have rules they won't change! Very friendly and accommodating not and having worked in the tourist industry for over 30 years seemed to have reached the dregs of the barrel.

John Fowler site in Looe Trelawne manor accommodation not clean whatsoever a great deal of attitude when asked to sort , advised my 75 year old mother she could go to another site without explaining it would not be far for her to travel after a four hour journey, lost cost of accommodation payed as it was through a Sun holiday promotion , absolutely furious to treat a member of family like this standard of customer service was not what you expect in the holiday industry , looking to post with the pictures taken by my brother of the state of van , what also is frustrating I asked policy on covid i fact you could still travel to site which really strikes me as an irresponsible policy for the site , thank goodness I am responsible and stayed away but my poor mother may not have to have endured the experience if I had had been there to deal with it .

We trust you had a great holiday with us and have taken many fond memories away with you. We really value your feedback and would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete our survey regarding your holiday.

No, it was not.
We had a mouldy mattress with brown stains on both sides and it was disgusting.
I complained JF office staff on site 18-6-2022 they were apologetic and said the cleaners should have picked this up, JF staff then swapped the mattress for a new one.
There was not even a mattress protector on the mouldy mattress only a flat sheet and this was a supposedly a GOLD chalet.
We slept on the disgusting mess for one night 17-6-2022 - 18-6-2022 and i noticed this in the morning when i got out of bed.
this is the 3rd holiday in a row we have had with JF, where there have been problems with cleanliness.
We have been holidaying with you now for many years....we WILL NOT be holidaying with JF again.
My 2nd holiday with you at sandy glade holiday park last year 2021 which also was GOLD was also disgusting as well the place was filthy, and when i went through your complaints team i was completely "IGNORED" infact i was treated like SCUM and FOBBED OFF.

For that I must apologise. I can assure you we have taken remedial steps to rectify the issues for the comfort of our future guests.

I understand you have stated you do not wish to stay with us again, and for this I can only apologise. The park manager at South Bay has expressed that if you did wish to stay again, he would be more than happy to personally check the unit prior to your arrival, and also attend the unit with you upon check in to ensure your satisfaction with this.
I am so sorry to hear that your experience with our company has not met your expectations. Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and I am truly sorry that wasn't demonstrated to you. John fowler South Bay- Brixham

We come here regularly with our 2 children & have never had any issues .. while we privately rent the caravan we stay in so can not comment on accommodation, the holiday park is very clean and thr children love it, they have swimming pools onsite that you can book slots to swim, also a free mini golf course - you just collect clubs and balls from the onsite shop, evening entertainment is as always very good! The kids love the characters and the dancing and we equally loved the bingo and cabaret that was on during our stay, drinks are a little pricey but it's to be expected when staying in a holiday place :) there is a small beach not far from the holiday park which is gorgeous and we all have fun although the walk down can be long, spoke to a very lovely guy in reception who instantly helped with our passes to be able to go swimming and use the onsite facilities, the only downside to the holiday was the arcade machines in the onsite arcade room, none of the machines were working when we tried them but wasn't a massive hindrance and all the staff were lovely ... we will be back again soon this year.

John Fowler St Ives Holliday park.

Over the last fifty years I have spent many weeks at what is now the John Fowler St Ives Holliday park/village. It has had brilliant times and it has had really horrendous times. I moved base from there a while back because of disabilities. However I went back there today after an invitation by the park manager. It has changed a great deal in the last year or so. The team that is currently there are working together to make the place so much better. I plan to visit again, maybe later this year to see further improvements well done team.

Keep away


Firstly, even if the pool is empty, you can only book 1 h a day. As a family trip, that was one of the main reasons we have selected this venue.

There is a sauna at the pools too, but that’s apparently been out of order for 4 months with no ETA of fix.

Then, washing machine works with token, supposed to open at 9, at 9.30 they still don’t have anyone as no one turned up. They finally open the doors but can’t buy tokens as lady on reception does not know how to operate the til.

Spent a fortune for a family outing for a week, only to find a dirty chalet and unorganised stuff in return.

Keep away if you want good for your family.

Sandaway Bay

Sandaway Bay ,
Food is a huge issue , first night ordered £77 of meals and bar snacks , waiting/ordering staff rude- food came out a meal at a time , at least 10 minutes between meals.
Breakfast same again , one finished before second breakfast came out , questioned , told tough !
Next evening ordered Pizzas , pepperoni x2 , margarita. The vegetarian ended up with a pepperoni as they place cheese over the Pepperoni. Again told tough ! We waited 2 hours for food and two items never arrived , we could wait a further hour for them !

They can only mange one meal at a time , food takes an absolute age to arrive , staff are rude , waiting time from ordering can take anything from 1-3 hours .

If you don’t drive or have had a couple of drinks , you’ve had it .
We spent £422 over three days on food for a dreadful service.

Recently returned from a beautiful holiday with John fowler holiday St Ives holiday village.
What amazing week we had, staff were all very polite and always helpful, three staff members stood out, Holly, Gill & Joseph, the shop on site was affordable, I was quite surprised with how well priced items were considering we were on holiday. Fantastic.
The woodland park was a lovely place to walk around with the children, the bungalows we rented were very clean, the village itself is such a peaceful place with so much wildlife, the club house staff were all fantastic and brilliant with the children, the bus transport that comes onto the village takes you everywhere, from St ives to lands end and to penzance and many more destinations, the family pases for the week were a great price considering the cost of petrol and parking in the area, can't wait to return next year. Thank you for a great experience. The Smith's.

I have just returned from my very first


I have just returned from my very first holiday at a John Fowler site,Sandaway Combe Martin.
I took my daughter and grandson,and we stayed in one of the chalets. Fantastic view of the sea from the lounge. The chalet was perfect for us,very clean and well equipped. Beds were very comfortable and we all slept well.
We walked down to Mermaids Cove and spent a long time exploring the rock pools and the secret hideaway. A steep climb ,but well worth the effort.
We enjoyed time with our grandson at Foxys club. He is Autistic and finds it hard to interact with strangers, but not here! He was relaxed and joined in the activities, which he loved. Coral the Entertainment Manager was amazing with Stanley. She understood how he was feeling and went the extra mile to make him feel relaxed. We went every night because he asked if we were going to see Coral. She is a superstar in our eyes.
Well done everyone at Sandaway you were all so welcoming and all deserve a special mention,even though l did not remember all your names.
So glad that l have booked another holiday with this company in September, cannot wait!
