Cheating business.
Cheating business.
We stayed at Killigarth Manor Holiday Park for 3 nights.
I booked Platinum Plus, but they downgraded our accommodation to gold category (2 level down), without informing us and without any refund.
After my complaint they confessed that they downgraded but noone asked me. On the second day, after our complaint, we were moved to platinum lodge. But totally disappointing approach to clients. No apology at all.
As a result bad birthday celebration.
We stayed at St Ives holiday village
We stayed at St Ives holiday village. The staff were friendly and the food was good but the gold bungalow we booked looked nice but the toilet seat was hanging off, there was no blind in the shower so people opposite got a free peepshow, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom, nowhere to hang wet towels, the floor sounded like you were walking on broken shells, the sofa was so uncomfortable, and the beds were so hard I woke up with a painful hip. We left a day early and will never go with John Fowler again.
Our family holiday in north devon.
Since we arrived at sandaway beach holiday park in north devon, our family have been overwhelmed by how much caring personalities are all over the staff. We had dinner at the restaurant tonight and all of my family could not fault the food which was cooked to perfection. Thanks to all the team all over the site for your help and courteousness that made us all feel very welcome. We are sad to leave this joy full and fun place. I would recommend going here for a family holiday. However, there was not a lot for children to do on the site.
Would never stop at another one
Would never stop at another one of their holiday camps starting off with the breakfast we ordered was found in the kitchen and we had to cook it ourselves. We weren’t told about this when we booked, the two children’s bedrooms in the chalet, we found the mattresses were wet and they had made a new bed on wet mattresses, I asked how could this of happened and they reply was we, are shortstaffed,

Stayed at John Fowlers camping ground…
Stayed at John Fowlers camping ground in widemouth Cornwall.
It should be called 'fouler than most'. Used the 'new' toilet and shower block.. Pathetic cubicles with no small wall or bench to put your clothes on.
One coat hook to hang everything on.. 15 seconds of shower time per push of the tap and no adjustment for temp.
There must be better than this.
If this is the future of camping I'm not going to go camping and I will not use John Fowlers again
South Bay Resort - Fab!
South Bay Resort - over Easter School break
We had a lovely break here. Prices were reasonable for 7 days during school holidays. Especially when comparing to Haven prices which were almost x3 times more. We weren’t expecting too much, we knew with the lower price there wouldn’t be as much to do on resort. However, we were pleasantly surprised! We had our 4 and 7 year old with us and our family members has their 2 year old with them. The kids LOVED the kids club, so much so that we had to go every morning at 10am and be there for the evening (which wasn’t planned). The entertainment staff (who are massively overworked btw) were so happy and friendly and kept the kids laughing and excited throughout! They were amazing, especially Craig. They really made the holiday more enjoyable. They remembered most of the kids names within a few days! Very family friendly.
On a more negative note, the arcades are small, old and tired. The resort is small and there isn’t much else to do here but if your staying for the things to do around Devon and not for onsite facilities, this is a good base. The caravans were clean and spacious (Gold plus - 2 bed).
We would definitely come back again.
Combe Martin Beach
Second time staying at Combe Martin Beach. Caravan was very clean, it was a pet friendly van but you couldn’t tell any dogs had been in there or maybe we are just use to the dog smell but we thought it was clean. Site was good and staff were friendly. The only issue I have is, when it rained I slipped on the top step of the caravan landing on my back across the edge of the caravan and had to go to hospital but before then I saw a first aider on-site and she was very helpful but 111 suggested I go to hospital, where I had an X-ray The site obviously new about this but not one member of staff checked up on me later in the week, fair enough it was not life threatening but I was in and still am in severe pain. Just thought it would have been courteous.
Just spent a week at Killigarth holiday…
Just spent a week at Killigarth holiday park no Looe, Cornwall. 04.03.2023 until 11.03.2023.
3 bed Killigarth cottage when we arrived found a very small water leak in the kitchen a bit later on, the leak got a bit worse so contacted the site office The Maintenance Manager (Andrew) came round within 5 Minutes had a good check and eventually found a leak outside sorted overnight.First thing Sunday morning spent all day digging a load of soil and concrete out replacing the very old pipe work with new was very Polite all the time got the job done and couldn’t apologise enough hope head office gets in touch with the site to congratulate him with a job very well done
Regards

Stayed at Sandy Glade in Somerset
Stayed at Sandy Glade in Somerset. Chalet stunk of cigarettes and damp. Evening entertainment usually ran by a self obsessed and very unfit guy who liked the sound of his own voice. Kids entertainment ran by the same joker who didn't wash his hands after using the toilet...please reconsider him!! Chalet kitchen badly equipped not even the basics. Swimming pool dirty and lifeguards never cleaned muddy floors just sat on their phones instead of watching the pool. Arcades were useless most machines were broken, outdated and very dirty. Had my sons coat stolen from venue, staff didn't care, don't expect alot from this place ;-(
Stayed at St Ives village site on the…
Stayed at St Ives village site on the 10th of February for 3 nights!.. This was for our 25th wedding anniversary stay to catch up with family to celebrate. We arrived onsite at 2pm as we upgraded to a platinum package, on arrival it was cauos!, customers arriving with NO cleaned lodges nor caravans, delay after delay, I had to go back to reception 3 times over 45 to 50 minutes sitting in my van waiting for any confirmation!.. 3pm came and I went back in and the manager was giving out keys just to get rid of stressed customers!,stated our lodge163 was ready but advised NO gas at the lodge. But apparently the housekeeping was carried out. On arrival after 2.5 hours drive, the cleaners still in the lodge, after they had finished we spent the next 30 minutes with antibacterial wipes cleaning the dust and grime, and wiping every handle and bleaching toilets... We had to wait 55 minutes for a gas bottle to be replaced!, even when the management stated that there was one job to do a curtian rail needing fixing and then straight to our lodge!.. Eventually when staff member arrived after 3 phone calls asking for an update,we felt hungry and just wanted to cook a meal, he stated they had NO gas in alot of Lodges, and had to pinch one from a lodge beside ours!.. Having been a loyal customer for 10 years plus we will NOT be returning, the lodge had damp above the sink in the roof area, and overhaul looks tatty and old!. Even smell of sewage was noticible around the area and site looked unkept.. Customer service could Not care as they sided with the Park...
Loyal customer of 15 years
Loyal customer of 15 years, booked annual holiday June 2022 1 week self catering at St Ives Holiday Park for July 2023.
Received a discount of 12% as I am a NHS worker.
Always book with John Fowler Holidays as our Granddaughters aged 2 and 6 years love the Foxy Club.
30 November 2022 received an email asking me to contact them via telephone regarding the booking?
I was then told that I cant have the accommodation that I had booked and paid my deposit for in June 2022 because it was being regraded?
I was offered a lesser quality accommodation for the same price or my deposit refunded?
And all because John Fowler Holidays can ask in access of £1000 for the same accommodation the same week. No loyalty to an existing customer for 15 years. As long as John Fowler can make a quick buck! And now I have to explain to my two Granddaughters they will not be going to the Foxy Club in the summer of 2023.
Thank you John Fowler Holidays. Who pride them selves on being family friendly.
John Fowler is a cowboy company
John Fowler took my money but never confirmed my booking. I paid for the holiday but I have no receipt or confirmation instead all I received was a note saying confirmation was declined despite money being taken. I waited on the phone 3 times in one day for nearly two hours in total and never was my call answered. I don't think this company is legit. They are a complete joke. Please don't book with them.
SOUTH BAY,
Nice caravan and clean, but would like to have had a bedroom lamps for reading in bedroom and be able to park the car outside the caravan as it was a Platinum van
Trelawne park
Trelawne park, NEVER AGAIN!!! Long and short of it is..at the clubhouse I bought mixer from bar to go with alcohol purchased on site... And then.. before I could even consume my drink.... I was aggressively confronted in. The ladies toilet by a 6"4 security man and several bar staff that threw myself and my 2 young grandaughters from the clubhouse and then,.. said big guy.. proceeded 2 verbally attack myself and my grandchildren. Both myself and my grandbabies were terriified and traumatised by his extremely unnecessary behaviour, I have severe PTSD and was literally hyperventilating, my grandaughters were hysterical Crying saying "Im scared nanny.. I wanna go home nanny"
Just totally inappropriate behaviour from a huge imposing man to a small woman and 2 children. My grandaughters had to sleep in my bed cause they were so scared.
I did make a complaint, however.. Im not happy with theyre reply.
JUST DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY REALLY DON'T CARE AND MAKE EXCUSES FOR ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR.
Sandaway Beach Holiday Park
We stayed at Sandaway Beach Holiday Park, No. 57, for a week, late September. Didn't get our key until 3.30pm when it had been cleaned and checked. While looking for my shoe under the spare room beds I found a half eaten bag of crisps, a used wTer bottle snd make up items. The grill pan had congealed fat in the bottom with hardened fat dripping off the griddle. Long black human hairs were on the bathroom floor so I doubt the van had even been cleaned. I took the pictures to Reception who offered me a drink as a "sorry". What we wanted was a caravan that had been cleaned. Very disappointed at the standard of cleanliness. We were told that they were very short staffed and the staff seemed very demoralised, but when the accommodation is dirty the holiday experience is spoilt.
Never Again!
Caravan was ok but I told them on booking I was in a wheelchair and it was inaccessible to anyone in a chair! Couldn’t park next to van so it meant my Husband and elderly mother in law having to help me from the car park to the van which caused immense pain and the purchase of a knee brace! Bedding missing on arrival, Wi-Fi non existent at times. Down loaded the app which clearly stated that you could get a drink in a bar from 9.30am til late which was a lie! Each time we ventured down to club house it was closed and couldn’t even access arcade if we wanted to. Oh and it would have been nice to have been warned about the 60s weekend taking place! So disappointed with Trelawne Manor that next year will be going elsewhere with a different holiday company! Will never use John fowler again! We even left a day early!
BREWARE THEY ALLOW POSITIVE COVID IN PARK
I would just like to pre warn anyone attending the ST IVes holiday park this weekend That there will be three people who they have welcomed with open arms knowingly with covid.
Dates have attempted eo be moved and a bit of rationalisation on their behalf is not there.
The stance is "no goverment policy in place so of course you are able to come down with members in your party having positive covid results"
now this puts me in a difficult situation as i know morally it is the wrong thing to do. I would like to make everyone aware that not everyoine has the samed moral standpoint and point out the policy.
Positive tests are on the rise and facilities like swimming pool no safe distance measurement ARE GOING TO PUT vulnerable people at RISK.
Avoid until policy is updated or covid tests start to decline again unless you wnat to put your life in danger
I have just got back from a john fowler…
I have just got back from a john fowler holiday, i have been going for many years excluding covid. We go for foxy club swimming, activities for kids. There was no foxy club on, the swimming activities were not on. the club house was taken over with cowboys and indians (brean) that we couldnt even get a table. There was no prior warning to an event on. Some men had real knifes on them on site. I had told my son about the aqua jets and we had to book in the clubhouse with entertainment staff, to be told its not running. We only went for the kids, but we had to spend even more money to find things to do off site.
