Stayed at South Bay. This is our second year here, and we've booked again for next year. Only a small site, but with decent entertainment, and a good sized shop on site with all the basics. A bus comes right to the site regularly, so ideal for trips down to the harbour if you want to leave the car on site. . Our caravan was clean and well equipped. We have dogs, so we weren't expecting a new caravan anyway, but we were really pleased with the one allocated, and have already booked the same one for next year. All the staff were polite , friendly, and helpful, particularly the couple working in Chefs Corner!! . The site is in a great spot, just a short 5 minute drive down into Brixham harbour, or if you're up to it...a half hour walk!! It's also easy to walk through the camp out onto Sharkham Point, which is a lovely walk with amazing views, ....we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins!! Yes, they did have a few problems with the little amusement arcade, but that was mainly due to suppliers sending wrong tickets, but other than that, we couldnt fault it. We had an amazing stay and look forward to next year. We might even squeeze in a cheeky half term visit if we can get time off!!

Disappointing. Picked a holiday focussed on our children, kids club, activities and things for them to do. Not a single stripe on site any day or night during our week long stay. Entertainment was a single person only. Fox mascot made an entrance on recorded video, didn’t even bother having someone in costume. Food was a let down too, ate at the club just once - 90mins plus to get out and pizza coated and box full of ash, part raw and chicken burger burnt outside and part raw inside.

We have just returned from a week at Trelawne Manor, and will definitely never go back again. The reasons being.
Not enough linen provided and some ot that which was, was dirty. It took 2 trips to reception to complain to get it right.
Food served was cold. We tried it a few times, so it wasn't a one off, and they weren't able to guarantee that any of the dishes were nut-free. Leaving my anaphylaxic daughter hungry and close to tears.
Clubhouse/bar closed numerous times.
Shop was poorly stocked. Even for essentials. And closed at one point due to lack of staff, at the same time that the bar was shut. So what were we to do for food. This was at lunchtime.
Lots of activities for children, but very overpriced.
Caravan not very well stocked with utensils. We had to go and borrow a frying pan.
The staff were nice though and it's in a lovely area.

Our family (2 adults 2 children) were booked in to stay at St Ives Holiday Village for 7 nights and had an appalling experience. We were given a disability chalet which we did not book which was filthy with mould all over the bathroom and even mouldy mattresses!! After complaining and being told we booked a “budget chalet so what do we expect” in front of other customers queuing at reception (very embarrassing after spending almost £1000) we were given a supposed upgrade to a “gold” chalet… however this was no better as we found another mouldy mattresses, missing handles from windows, missing lock on the bathroom door, mould in the shower, hair stuck to the bathroom walls, broken soap tray in shower with sharp edges and a general smell of damp throughout. The reception insisted both chalets had been cleaned prior to us arriving and this highlights to poor standards of the park.

After complaining again we were repeatedly “fobbed off” by the management and reception team. I asked them to personally come and view the chalet in person to see for themselves even though I had shown them the pictures I had taken but they refused.

As we booked through Hoseasons I emailed them pictures and asked them to get involved. After 3 nights we were only offered a refund for the remaining nights we hadn’t used as long as we left the holiday park! This was disgusting behaviour and it completely ruined our holiday which we had driven over 7 hours from North Lincolnshire to get to! The site changed the mouldy mattress and re-siliconed an area in the shower and said they had fixed the problems so didn’t need to offer anything else which we thought was shocking behaviour!

After leaving we had to very quickly try and find somewhere else to go to so we could finish our holiday. We found a Haven site 20 minutes away and was relived to see a clean static to stay in for the remaining days of our holiday.

Do not stay at this site! The management team show no empathy and are uninterested in really helping. After speaking to the maintenance team it was even admitted that there were many problems with the holiday park!

We spent Monday to Friday at Cardigan Bay Holiday Park, Poppit Sands, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The camp site is not too big and the pool is amazing. The shop is tiny and only has the basics so I'd advise taking food with you, though there are superstores the other side of Cardigan. The site is very clean and the caravan was modern and benefited from WiFi that worked perfectly (with no need to go online and pay for it). Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we would definitely go again.

This is my first time at a John Fowler resort and I’d never come again. I booked Ruda Park when it was still Park Dean because we have experience in their resorts and had been here before and knew it to be excellent. Oh how things have changed for the worse. The entertainment is abysmal. There are three entertainers trying their best but the organisation and variety is awful. The bar is run by incompetents who leave young girls on their own at peak times of the evening, meaning that there are queues for ages to get drinks. It was quicker to go back to the caravan for a drink than get a coke at the bar. If you don’t eat on site you’d be better for it. All in all I won’t come to any John Fowlers again. Really poor.
Used to be so good as Park Dean. Really nicely situated on the beach. Really really bad now. Such a shame.

We stayed at Widemouth Bay Caravan Park in Bude for a week. The site was immaculate, views were outstanding and we received excellent customer service. Bar prices were reasonable, entertainment was brilliant and our caravan was a home from home. Most activities were free, which is a bonus. Great holiday, definitely coming back!

Hottest week of July 2025 no hot water in the shower low water pressure reported on the first day, it was four days before it was sorted of fixed

Customer services at head office were disgusting putting all the blame on me, for not reporting the problem

Absolutely disgusting attitude from site to customer services

Applicants are required to perform these tasks .
TRIPLE book camping pitches .
Book camping pitches that don’t exist, only to then sell the pitches the following day.
You must be a compulsive liar to deal with the hourly complaints you will definitely receive .

We stayed at Perranview Perranporth. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. However although we didn’t arrive until very late with two children - we were shocked to see that the beds had not been made and we were left with the job of making beds as the bedding had been left on the end of each bed. So instead of having a drink and getting in after a 5 hour drive we were expected to make beds. Equally annoying was a bag left with instructions to strip the beds and put sheets etc in the bag. We left a note saying g we do not work for John Fowler. We found this experience very upsetting and annoying.

Killigarth Manor. Excellent site, spotless caravans and fabulous staff -reception are exceedingly helpful. James the Stripey entertainer worked his socks off entertaining the kids. The bar staff were efficient and friendly. The park is beautifully laid out, just a field away from the coastal path, the park is spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The Shop is well stocked and busy and the caravans are comfortable and very well equipped and beautifully situated. Been 20+ times and find neighbouring sites a total disappointment! Also easy on the budget, this site is extremely hard to beat...see you all again soon!!

stayed at sandy glade caravan park hired a caravan catered for pets ...... awful both sofas were heavy stained , the shower had a lovely shower on 1st day, opened the shower door and it was like a swimming pool lots of water. reported site worker returned and said the seal had gone in the sliding door and will fix when you leave , and left us with a mop and bucket. ive stayed at this site several times but noticed the downfall the accommodation is getting the site is clean n tidy but not the hired caravans , will never stay here again ...want your money but not your custom

Chaotic check in. They have taken over Ruda site in Croyde from Parkdean. The pitch we had booked 9 months earlier wasn’t available. We had even checked two days before and were told it was all fine

We booked a holiday at Ruda Croyde Bay for a week which cost us £400 +. A week before we were due to go I had an unexpected accident which resulted in me incurring injury including 5 broken ribs, 2 chipped vertebrae and a chipped left shoulder which seriously impeded my movement and ability to lift. I tried to move the week to later in the year so we could keep our booking. All customers services said was that as they would have to cancel the original booking and make a fresh. As we hadn’t taken out cancellation insurance there was nothing they could do and would not just re-book another week. We have never cancelled a holiday in our history of travelling. Given this was a complete freak accident John Fowler did nothing to try and accommodate us and we have lost our payment. Crap customer services and we will never give John Fowler another penny.

The lodge was a disgrace holes in walls, paper peeling from walls, rusty radiators, mattress were thin could feel every spring, decking was rotten, hand rail was rotten both had holes in them, grandson got a splinter in his foot, gas safety check 11/22, toothbrush holders, towel rail peeling varnish not fit to use, floors uneven, toilet seat moved when you sat in it, no internet when we were there, table faded. I took photos of all defects and complained when we were there only toilet seat replanted not soft close. We left 3 days early as nothing was done and no other accommodation offered. Trying to contact head office as that’s who I need to complain to. So far nothing from them.

would have liked to rate zero stars. Booked Sandy Glade, was dirty, very badly stained toilet, thick dust. Worst of all was the awful smell in the bathroom, which made my wife ill. Was moved to another chalet, slight improvement until the day we left and noticed the huge stain on the mattress, UGH !!!! Do NOT book with this company!!!!!!

Stayed at Tolroy Manor in Hayle Cornwall. Would NOT recommend this site at all. John Fowler are passing it off as a ‘quiet’ park and that it is. There is a pool and that’s it. Will cost you £18 for an entertainment pass to use it for an hour. Have to book it the night before, even when no one is using it in the day they won’t let you use it. I use the word entertainment loosely as there is none whatsoever not even a music system playing in the background in the bar. No breakfast on offer, food only available if there is enough in the bar to make it worth their while. Absolutely dismal for users and the staff alike. There is a pokey little shop which isn’t even worth a visit. If you’ve got kids or don’t have a way to travel about then forget it. Grounds are well kept but typical John Fowler - never invests anything back into their parks.
Very disappointed and won’t be visiting this or any other JF site in future.

South Bay Park is a lovely place, but the pool is cold, the park rep in the club is deaf, and the security guy needs a bath. Everyone thought the same, including the rest of the staff. Sadly, the pool, a few bad staff members, and dodgy water pressure made South Bay a never-again park. They have a park with less in St Ives that delivers better, although the outside entertainment had an issue one night.
