I had been using Scrivens for over 15 years. I visited the Didcot store at the beginning of last year as suggested by the doctor as I had been getting frequent headaches. I had been wearing varifocals for some years at this point and had had no previous issues. I had had three pairs by this point, anyway I picked this pair up having paid over £400 . when I initially put them on I couldn't focus as all the lines of vision were wrong. I decided to return after a couple of days as I was unable to get on with them. I was given a quick eye test and told the prescription was right. that may be the case but varifocals have to be made correctly so that you can focus at different distances with ease. I was turned away by Raj the store manager, who said I would get used them , howerever I did not and returned twice more to be told the same thing. I had kinda given up hope by this point. probably should have been more pushy but really shouldn't have to be. I returned after probably a month when I had resorted to wearing my old glasses. initially the receptionist told me not to worry they would sort something out. I was in a rush as my husband was in hospital so said I would return the following day. when I returned the following day. at this point Raj was there. he dismissed me totally saying it was too late as I hadn't returned soon enough. he then looked at the glasses and said they were scratched . maybe they were but I had not been able to use them from the word go so maybe if he had been willing to sort the issue initially this would not of been the case. he was rude and just kept reeling off the same lines over and over again. He sat with his arms crossed and basically sneered at me when I said I had wasted £400. I was offered a small discount on my next eye test when I put a complaint in which is irrelevant as I will never use them again. I am highly disappointed as I had been a customer for many years and had not been let down before.

I visited the Wem branch. The staff were all very friendly and ready for my appointment with smiles all round.
The eye test was very thorough and each process and results explained.
I needed a new pair of spectacles and Sharon was very good in helping me choose the frame that fitted my face.
Looking forward to collecting them.

​I honestly can’t thank the team at Scrivens Bolton enough. I went in to get my 93-year-old mum’s hearing aid repaired and the whole experience was just spot on.
​They were so flexible with the booking, making sure the appointment fit right in with my mum’s other medical bits, which was a huge help. Every single person we dealt with—from the manager right through to the lovely lady Micheal who looked after mum—was so professional and kind.
​They even went out of their way to give us advice on the best places to park nearby to make things easier for her. It’s those little friendly touches that make such a difference. Professional, helpful, and genuinely caring. Highly recommend!

I recently visited the branch in chapel-en-le frith for an eye test. Appointment was on time and The staff are so friendly and helpful I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Me and partner both had eye tests recently,the optician was very thorough and friendly.The ladies helped me and my partner to pick our first reading glasses and their advice was greatly appreciated.

Great to be back at Scrivens again (Coleshill branch). Really appreciate the family-like atmosphere — it feels welcoming and not rushed.
Zoe, Amy, and Narvender (apologies if I’ve spelt that wrong) were all fantastic — very knowledgeable and made me feel reassured and well looked after throughout.

As always extremely friendly professional and helpful and always go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble be it with our glasses or hearing aids. Strongly recommend the Witney branch.

I have been going to Scrivens Opticians in Mildenhall for some years now and have always been treated extremely well. The entire team are always very helpful, polite and customer service excellent. My recent appointment showed I needed to replace the glasses I had, and the choice of frames were very good value in style and price.

Had my eyes tested by Nayan Chavda, who took great care with the test, and also explaining, exactly what he was doing and why, i felt very satisfied that my question were answered and he was extremely helpful. The staff members were also extremely good in assisting me, when it came to choosing frames. Helen who I believe was the newest member of the team, served me at the end and took payment and was lovely. A very nice experience, will definitely use again and would recommend.
