Not sung in a traditional style hard for children to recognise the songs
Very confusing for baby.. I sing nursery rhymes to her in traditional way. Which she loves so I brought tonies that were marketed as traditional favourite songs. They turned out to be a very jazzed up extremely noisy version of the songs that it was hard to recognise what they are. Very disappointed

We work really hard to create content we hope everyone will love and we’re sorry this didn’t quite hit the mark for you.
We do include a track list and audio sample for each Tonie on our website which we hope people find helpful when choosing their Tonies, but you can also listen to the whole Tonie without taking it out of its packaging by just popping it on the Toniebox, bag and all. That way, if you’re not 100% happy with it, you can just return it for a full refund, as long as it’s still in the original packaging.

Tonie bought for 1 year old
This is the best toy I’ve bought my son. He’s 1 years old and absolutely loves the farm and jungle collections. He’s learn all the songs, the noises the animals make and now recognises which one is which. When he wakes up in the morning the first thing he does is turn his Tonie box on. I found I was having the tv on more and more often and I wanted to get out of the habit of it. The Tonie is a great alternative! He barely has the tv on now so screen time has massively reduced and we are both happy! So thank you so much for creating this product it honestly is amazing.

Unreliable devices and poor support
Unreliable devices, and poor support. You will spend lots of money on the tonies only to end up with an upset toddler when the box encounters the dreaded "fox error". Tonies will then say "not our problem, try contacting the retailer". How difficult can it be to build a reliable music player in 2026?!

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry for the frustration this issue has caused. Our team has identified remotely, via your Toniebox ID, that this problem cannot be resolved from a distance and should be claimed under the 2-year warranty.
As your Toniebox was purchased through a third-party retailer, they will be your first point of contact for a warranty claim. Of course, we remain available to support you should your retailer be unable to assist.

Would like to review the box but it never turned up.
Bought this for my sons birthday, sat in all day for the delivery and received a message from yodel to say to contact the retailer as there's been a delay.
I did, no reason was given item was returned to sender.
Contacted their support had the item resent and the exact same happened again. Even thought they assured me that yodel would not be used.
Their customer service tried to lie to me and say I missed the delivery when i had been in all day, even answering doors to cold callers to avoid missing it. Same message from yodel first thing in the morning.
Very dishonest company, will mess you around and provide no help, save yourself hassle and get a yoto box.
Update
Just had turned up after I added a safe place to yodel, again was in the house no knock on the door just a message saying delivered. Still don't understand what's going on.

Super happy with the service I…
Super happy with the service I received. A little slow to start, but once I got a reply to my email the resolution process was super quick and I’m very happy. My in warranty tonies 2 was broken (no longer charging) few pictures sent, trouble shooting tried and a FOC replacement was sent in the post along with FOC returns for the faulty box.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great customer service
Our tonie box speaker was faulty after a lot of good use and the customer service was excellent. Quick reply and immediately sent a replacement when I returned the faulty box. My son was only without it for a couple of days and we were glad to have it back

Avoid buying direct
Tonies are the biggest con artists going. Do not buy anything during a special event through their website, it won’t turn up. They will lie and say it’s been dispatched. Getting any replies from customer service is a battle and they just repeatedly lie when you finally do.
If you purchase elsewhere the actual tonie box is great. Just avoid buying directly from Tonies.
Feedback on reply- this is one of many stories I have been told, also includes it was never sent out, it was lost. Don’t believe anything they say. Chasing for weeks just before Christmas finally got a reply and refund with a few days to go

Faulty, then replacement also faulty
Bought my son a Toniebox 2 for Christmas. It mostly worked well, but crucially would sometimes freeze and make a horrible skipping sound, almost like a broken CD player used to make, then reset itself. The sound would scare my son. I tried all the steps Tonie recommended to fix this but none worked, so they told me to post it back to them and they’d send a replacement.
The replacement arrived, and much to my son’s disappointment it was also faulty. The battery seemed completely dead. The only thing it would do is flash red about 11 times when we plugged it in or tried any of the reset things Tonie suggested.
After a bunch of questions, some getting me to repeat myself, they told me to try the whole process again - send this second faulty box back to them, which I did this morning. The next replacement is now on its way.
Even if it works, I can’t give them more than 3 stars for all the disappointment and inconvenience these TWO faulty Tonieboxes have caused.
The customer service replies have been prompt, and there’s a general feeling that they care a lot about keeping customers happy, but the relies have been a bit impersonal at times, and when my case got escalated (when the replacement they sent out turned out to be faulty), the manager’s response read like something copied from their customer service user manual.
Even though they’re happy to replace faulty products, I still have to go to the trouble of filling out forms and dealing with them each time.
Maybe it’s pure bad luck and coincidence that I’ve received two faulty Tonie boxes in a row, but I wanted to post this in case it’s happening to anyone else at the moment, and to help other parents avoid disappointment if this is a more widespread thing.
Let’s see if the next replacement they send out actually works.

2 months in and really pleased
Our daughter 9 has learning disabilities and this has made her so much more independent, she can choose what music/stories to listen to. We would love if there was Welsh language characters though.

Tonies themselves did great.
Tonies themselves did great as they shipped straight away and when I contacted them they got back to me quickly.
How ever the delivery service they use is ridiculous on 2 occasions they said they tried to deliver & left a card and I was in on both of them and no card was left at all.
I love the tonies characters and so doesn’t my little one. I just won’t order directly from them again.

Product great - customer service shocking
I think the toniebox is great although the customer service shocking, I got my sons 2nd hand for Christmas so had issues trying to connect to my WiFi. Emailed support just after Christmas, obviously didn’t expect a reply straight away during that period but it’s now 13th of feb and I’ve actually still not heard back from support? Yet I’ve had an email now today asking to leave a review so here’s mine. Products great if you can get it to work but if it doesn’t, don’t expect much help.

Mickey wasn’t working, explained it to customer services with a few emails backwards and forwards and they arranged for me to get a free replacement and to collect the defective one. Great service

Extremely slow service and no easy way to contact
Ordered on December 6th, for a Christmas present. Tracking kept saying parcel would be delivered, but no sign. Tried to contact tonies twice via their online form with no replies. Ordered products from another company, raised a PayPal dispute. Items randomly arrived on 10th Feb with no option to return due to the order being older than 30 days old.
