Regarding our experience with Booking.com and our stay at the apartment – 7 Calle Concepcion Jeronia, Madrid.:-
We booked this apartment, from 15th to the 29th October 2023, through the agents:- thecharmingconcept.com / booking.com.
We were told all we had to do on arrival at the apartment was to phone them and they would give us the door code.
The taxi which was arranged by the agents, duly pick us up from the airport and dropped us off at the apartment. On arrival I phoned the stated number for the door code as per their instructions. That was when things went seriously wrong!!
I was told to go to their website and complete a form and provide copies of our passports! Now we are standing outside the building with traffic- buses, vans and even a police car with its sirens going past us only a metre distance. I’m 83 my partner is 77. and we both struggle with the digital world. I told them it was impossible to do that. ‘Can you come to the office’ (where ever that was.) No I can not. ‘Then I can’t help you. You have to go to the website’!!! At that point a man arrived and opened the main door, we followed him in. He could see we were stressed out.
The kind gentleman spoke to Charming concept - Charming Plaza Mayor II, it then took him 40 minutes of dialogue before we were able to access the apartment. The whole issue was appalling. The requirement of passports could have been done when booking but they were never ask for.
Further more, after the first week we requested fresh towels and bed sheets, but was told that there is a washing machine and dryer and that we should use that! But I insisted and eventually they did supply the towels and bed sheet.
So rating Charming Plaza Mayor II – 1 * star.
The apartment was nice and rates - 4 * star.
The inventory was adequate and rates – 3 * star.
The position of the apartment was in the centre of Madrid and rates – 5 * star.
Overall we had a very good time in Madrid, the bus and train system was excellent and the weather was pleasant.
However, The Charming Concept.com, the agents for the apartment, were extremely poor. What could and should have been done at the time of booking they just did not do. The company caused much stress and frustration and acted in an unprofessional manner.

I purchased a trip with them, they took my money and I did not receive my tickets. I have used them before so they know my account. They said that I used an incorrect email address and that is why I did not receive the tickets. They refused to reimburse me for the trip which I paid and did not receive. Thieving company.

Not only is Tripadvisor a useful tool for travel and food ideas, the integration to be able to book tours through the service and manage the bookings is very useful.

I wrote a review about my bad experience I had at Ladram bay holiday park, but after a week it has still not be put online, they have not even answered my email to ask when it will go, 2 other people on the caravan site has tried to leave not very good reviews and theres were not put on line, TripAdvisor seem to be protecting certain companys

Would give 0 if possible. Suspicious and obviously fake reviews of some holidays are allowed to remain on the site giving potential customers a false and misleading impression / view of the place. Even when informed tripadvisor leave this false information on the site. Shameful!!

Lovely, polite, hardworking staff

Trip advisor has been very helpful in planning our trips for vacation in that it shows places to visit and see. It gives others opionions of their trips and gives stars as to how well accommadations are.

Mooie hotel en prachtige medewerkers , rustgevende hotel , Thanks aan de receptioniste Rowen die ons op elke moment hielp en vragen beantwoorde alsook Hajer de receptioniste en Housam die ons bij aankomst heeft geholpen nadat wij de verkeerde kamer kregen was snel opgelost samen met Rowan 10/10 voor alle mensen die daar werken zoals Ahmed in de restaurant en Mohamed en allle collega’s van de restaurant hardwerkende mensen en lief , voor deze ook 10/10
Aan het zwembad restaurant dank ik Hassan die ons steeds hielp en Ahmed en Mohamed 10/10 heel
Lieve mensen en alsook de 2 koks van de restaurant 10/10 die steeds vraagde of hij iets speciaals kon maken voor ons.

I have always dealt with Sammy Reece for my holiday needs. She is simply amazing at what she does. Sam always finds me exactly what I want at the best price and goes the extra mile every time. She takes all the stress out of booking a holiday and never fails to get it 💯 right every time.
I can't recommended her or the team highly enough.

Again, tripadvisor has refused to post a verified review of an experience with a company that they highly rate and promote on their website. The review was within the guidelines for posts.

Impossible de laisser un avis, l'appli dit qu'il y a plus de 200 caractères alors que ce n'est pas le cas

Hicimos una reserva a través de Booking.com.
El supuesto propietario nos contactó para preguntarnos si no nos importaba hacer la reserva a través de Trip advisor, que el llevaba años con la casa colgada en esa web y que le parecía mas fiable que Booking.com en la que era nuevo.
Accedimos ya que pensamos que Trip advisor era una pagina de fiar. Nos llegaron unos mails de Trip Advisor con la prereseva y un link que te redirigia al pago.
Hicimos el pago a través de ese link , y nos volvió a llegar un mail de Trip Advisor con la confirmación de la reserva.
Hicimos el 50% del pago que suponían 2350EUROS, y el resto debíamos hacerlo la semana anterior a entrar en la casa.
Nuestra sorpresa fue, que cuando intentamos contactar con el supuesto propietario para hacer el resto del pago , había desaparecido.
Nos pusimos en contacto con Trip Advisor para comunicarles lo ocurrido y ellos eluden cualquier tipo de responsabilidad , a pesar de que nosotros tenemos todos los mails enviados por ellos ( TRIP ADVISOR)de preserva , pago y reserva de la casa.
Si esta es la fiabilidad que nos da una pagina oficial como Trip Advisor , entendemos que para que pagar comisiones por alquilar una casa a través de ellos por tener una seguridad , cuando al haber el mínimo problema se lavan las manos y no dan ningún tipo de solución o garantía, cuando al que le han hackeado la Web es a ellos.
Espero que aunque no recuperemos el dinero , esto sirva para que NADIE RESERVE A TRAVES DE TRIP ADVISOR ya que no tienen ningún control sobre los datos que introducimos en su web ni de los supuestos propietarios de las casas que ofrecen .

They will allow anything to be put on their site true or otherwise and will not budge. I have reported a fake review and they say it fits with their guidelines in the mean time my business is suffering from a fake review.

Horseshit, spent 30 minutes writing a review, went to select photos, the settings returned me to the app only to be introduced with the home page, review binned. A complete waste of my time and effort!

Even after a dispute about negative reviews left for a business and showing them they are fake, they still insist the reviews are legit and have left fake reviews in place

Trip advisor booked me on the wrong trip. When I showed up on time the tour operator told me it wasn’t safe based on my experience (scuba diving). Trip advisor will not refund your money and will try to take it from small businesses. And the customer service was deliberately wasteful of my time. Don’t use trip advisor.

Absolutely terrible company, promote untrue reviews and multiple people review bombing people's businesses
