our guide was awesome. He took the time to explain everything, great sense of humour and really enjoyed the day with him. He really knew his stuff and made us feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this company and would do it again next time we return to Rome.

We have taken many Walks Tours and find them to be run by the best and most knowledgeable tour staff around. They go above and beyond to really answer everyone’s questions and have just such a vast understanding of what they are showing people. You can tell they vet and take only the best guides to join their company. I would recommend Walks and Devour (food tour company with Walks) to everyone.

They left us high and dry when the Vatican was closed unexpectedly the day of our tour. We understand that was unexpected, but they had the ability to reschedule us and did not follow through. We had planned our short stay in Rome around their promise to take us to the Vatican and Museum. We received notice of the closure at bedtime before our early morning tour, so arrived over an hour early to seek assistance rebooking Vatican admission for the following day. At that point, we still had over 24 hours for them to arrange to rebook us for the next day. Two different representatives agreed to assist us, or connect us with someone who could, but neither followed through to help us.

Claudia was so knowledgeable, fun and accommodating. She was prompt and prepared (as were the two other staffers) and provided good props for us to really view the Sistine Chapel Getting in ahead of the general public was worth every dollar, even in the low season.

The tour included so many sights and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the places we visited. The group was small and that was a big plus! 10/10 would recommend and will definitely book with them again on my next trip.

Did Gladiator Gate: Special Access – Colosseum tour. Tour guide was knowledgable and informative and we had a great time in spite of the winter rain.

As a first-time visitor to Rome, the Rome in a Day Tour was invaluable. My tour guide was so knowledgeable of both the historical sites and art of Rome. She really made the day and the whole trip. Everyone else I met from Walks of Italy was also friendly and helpful. If I come back, and I hope I do, I will definitely book more tours through Walks.

Our tour guide was absolutely AMAZING! I wish I wrote down his name, but he spoke English very well, had a PHD in archeology, and was born in Sicily. Ferdinand? He was so super knowledgable and had so many tidbits of interesting trivia along out tour of the Vatican & Basilica, it was the most memorable and wonderful tours we've ever taken (me, my husband, college age daugher, and about 10 other people in our group). Although we had early access before being open to the public, please be aware that Rome is super super densley populated and that other tour groups all offer the same thing. So it won't be as crowded as a business hours ticket, but our 7:15am time was still pretty crowded and still alittle bit of wait time in lines. It's also a shame that we weren't able to go "backwards" through the museum to revisit areas within the Vatican that we zipped by too quickly en route to the Sistine Chapel... I was under the impression our admittance ticket would allow us to have the tour guide's expertise, but that we could go back to other areas at our leisure and back-track a bit. You cannot, which is a real bummer. We missed out on a ton of stuff me & my daughter (a university Fine Arts major) would have loved to indulge in and linger alittle longer in other areas and exhibits. Wear comfortable walking shoes, lots of stairs, dress in layers especially in winter where you will go from colder outdoor spots to indoor areas crowded with people. Despite that dissappointment of not being able to back track through other exhibits we passed, Ferdinand was worth every penny PLUS tip, and we would def recommend him for those interested in a scheduled visit without extra time to stop at other points of interest you might see along the way. This will be a lifelong cherished visit for me and my family, for sure.

This was a very memorable tour and I cannot recommend it enough if you are interested in seeing both the Doge's Palace and St. Marks Basilica. Our tour guide was local and very knowledgable. We visited in July and found Venice to be extremely crowded even in the slower tourist season. Being able to have a smaller, private tour of these buildings while beating the heat in the evening was incredible. The reveal of the St. Marks Basilica ceiling is worth the money alone. Magical!

What a great way to see the city!

We booked an very heavy itinerary and wanted to see all the highlights of the city in one day. This approach allows us to explore further on our "free day(s)".

The tour was efficient and explored everything, providing both architectural and historical significant information. It opened our minds to the various locals.

It was perfect for hot spots like the Duomo as I would not have ventured there and waited in the long line-up on my own.

The guide was clear and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this company!

This company is amazing! I believe we had the best tour guide for the Vatican! His name is Sev and truly a wealth of knowledge. Well worth it and would highly suggest the Walks Tours!

We arrived at the outside of the Vatican via the Hop On Hop Off bus. We only had the address for the meeting place and were unable to find it. We wandered around the streets for quite a while and eventually hailed a cab.

I took 2 separate walks tours in October 2025. The first was Vatican/Coloseum and City highligts. The 2nd was the Appian Way, Catacombs and Aqueducts. I loved each and both were great values. The guides were particularlly wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. In fact I am visiting istanbul this spring and immediately check to see if Walks had tours of that city.
